we need more conversations on international haute couture/brands. West Africa, North Africa, India and Japan are changing the game!!!!

I completely agree and these countries are producing some of the best material in the game right now but for these two specifically it’s hard because they can’t go to these countries fashion weeks. That’s why they don’t cover brands from the other fashion weeks even if they are huge.

i’m very glad Daniella corrected you about the ERD chapan, because missing that would have driven me insane. i have a big fixation of traditional dress and its uses in fashion and too often that use just gets completely glossed over in favor of pure vibes. that heavy adornment with medallions and metal plates is very common in the region and dates back at least as far back as the Scythians.

I've been a long time viewer and I'm commenting this from a place of sincerity: It would be amazing to see you guys talk more about designers not just from the western world, but from the global south/ east. There is a whole different level of textile making, approach to design that happens here. I understand cultural limitations you might have or a lack of access to shows in those regions/ from those designers. But in this video and some past review ones, I felt that you guys weren't looking beyond the same 10-15 names mostly from the european scene. Maybe ypu could approach this by way of collaboration with international content creators or fashion writers maybe? I feel like at this point in time, fashion needs to get more and more decolonised, we need people to look at non-western countries beyond their labour value. I only bring this up here since you guys are an influential figure in the fashion content scene, and so very accessible (which i am always grateful for)

I agree with the statement about the Aalïa wool pants. I am a fine wine steward (sommelier) and in my industry, the more expensive the wine the less margin you will have on it. It is because your client knows what others pay for high-end items better when something is more expensive. That discerning eye is heightened when you are willing to spend top dollar on a luxury item.

i am such a fan. you helped me take fashion more seriously growing up lesser privileged i never thought about my clothes cause “i didn’t care” but in reality there was just no money to explore. now i love fashion i just got over my sunglasses phase and have a whole collection now. next i hope to buy good quality basics (i know weird order to start with glasses but i want to loose weight first to buy quality stylish clothes). i am the type to never throw away clothes. i literally wear it until it is a peace of cloth so it might take a while my clothes from my late teens disappear from my closet 😂 i bought all the books you recommended and i am reading them all. hope to be 1% as knowledgeable as you areone day.😅🎉❤

great idea. i'm one of those guys who often won't watch a particular sport during the regular season, like baseball. But I'll watch the World Series. This is a bit like that helpful to see the categories you divided fashion into, think it would help in looking at fashion in general to look at particular elements/categories so the looks as wholes don't overwhelm, appreciated seeing how you categorized Bliss's look here from the waist up reminded me of James Taylor's look on his first album, 1968 "James Taylor"

among the couture looks i saw a red dress that I thought looked like it had red flies flying around it. think the dress should have a little speaker inside that plays a moving-around-buzzing sound like the sound of flies flying around it could be interesting if they were supposed to be red moths and the dress were wool. as though we hate moths cuz they eat wool and yet could be seen as beautiful when they're flying around the dress
