Don't forget the orbital floor injury that Taker had, but kept fighting. He's lucky he didn't lose his eye. Also, Foley lost a tooth. That tooth went through his nose, and was in there for the remainder of the flight. He jokes that it looked like a booger.

Good. Dude should honestly be in jail, if what Undertaker is relaying is correct. ‘Oh it’s just a draft’. Then is told to knock it off and fix it, and possibly moves them even closer. As bad as this was for Undertaker, he literally could have spent the rest of his life a horrific burn victim, or had his career ended right there. There’s a very close possible reality where we talk about this in the same way as wrestling’s biggest tragedies.

@@zeospark9715 Actually when Undertaker lost it to Jericho at Elimination Chamber 2010 he never won another world title. In the rivalry with Kane later in 2010, Kane was the World Champion for that whole run, their '10 matches were at Night of Champions, Hell in a Cell, and Bragging Rights.

This was in St. Louis at Elimination Chamber 2010. I was there. I remember everybody being shocked at what just happened. He ran right to the ring after it happened. After the show, he pointed to the side where the pyro guy was like he was gonna kick his ass when he got to the back. I'll never forget it.

The chest chops probably stung like hell. But he's also used to those hurting so it probably never registered that it was because of the burns. Being on your chest for the walls isn't usually where the pain is there, so it was more obvious.

To my knowledge, applying friction to where there is a burn on the body makes it worse all around, even more so than getting hit. I also imagine those ring canvases are designed to be rough to prevent a person from just slipping & sliding around, meaning Taker had friction applied to his burnt body on that rough surface by Chris Jericho...and couldn't express how much pain he was in because he was in character. It's no wonder he was so pissed afterwards.

I’m glad he mentioned the commentary as they did a great Job making it seem like him storming to the ring was all part of the story. I remember watching at the time thinking it was a cool thing as Taker rarely [even in his younger days] ran to the ring. Wasn’t until after I read about the burns and realised what had happened.

Never forget this I was 10 at elimination chamber in the 4th row in Saint Louis and the whole time they were handing taker cold bottles of water and everyone in the crowd knew something was up. It was one of the craziest things I’d seen, and we still didn’t know how bad it was because of how quick Taker shook it off, and how much he no sold it after for nearly an hour long match. It wasn’t until later that we realized how bad it could have been and that it would become a legendary moment, despite being a botch.

Imagine being responsible for this. You burn the guy literally everyone loves. Of all wrestlers that with one sentence can benefit or end your career(and luckily a guy who went out of his way to help people all the time).... the Michael Jordan of wrestling. The man decade after decade.... that's who you flipping burn.

Even after begin set on fire, Taker went on with the match and gave a really good performance in the chamber. It was the last time he held and world title so good call to have it be visible on his body and good call apparently as it stopped the burns from being worse.
