i picked this game up again after not touching it for years. when i played it for the first time, i was maybe around 14, and now i replayed it going into university. it's definitely not the same as wiping my memory and completely starting from scratch, but there's something special about experiencing it all again after forgetting about this game for so long. whether its picking up on the details i missed last time or fondly revisiting all the things i do remember in a comforting routine. somehow, the ending made me cry even more.

He would show me who was who since I'd be like "is that asgore that toriel was talking about?" Their story is so fuckin sad... but tbh the truth was that the first human wanted to get revenge on humanity by tricking Asriel into taking their soul. Furthermore Asriel also saying that the first human came into the underground that implied suicide which failed. Finding out about monsters and that they can become a god by absorbing a soul, as well as knowing buttercup flowers are poisonous, the first human tells Asriel that he can free the underground if they both went up and got 7 more human souls. Their plan was to eat poisonous flowers, which got the first human sick. This was said by the monsters inside of Asgore's home before Sans judges your actions. But what the monsters didn't know was that the plan to make them sick was intentional by the first human and Asriel. The plan was to kill Chara intentionally, and let Asriel absorb their soul so then they can get the 7 human souls to free everybody. But that was only Asriel's intention. The first human (aka Chara)'s intention was to get revenge on humanity by becoming a god forged with Asriel. Claiming that they hated humanity, and is probably the reason they tried to commit suicide in the first place.

This is something that helps me feel better. I was listening to fallen down the night before I had to go back to in-person school. I was crying, panicking because I didn't want to go back, and just not doing okay at that moment. But as I listened to fallen down, it calmed me down a bit, until my mom came and yelled at me to get in bed, which there I hyperventilated a ton and couldn't even form a sentence in my mind because of that- but fallen down helped me calm down for the 30 min that I listened to it.

nobody will ever understand what a huge impact the game has given me. it was a reality escape from all the bad stuff that was going on in my life, I will forever thank this game. It brought the most amazing memories I’ve had in my lifetime. The characters were the biggest comfort to me as well as the music. I’ve memorized every piece of music the game has to offer. Yeah, I'm kinda a fan of both (more leaning towards Undertale) and I love the attention this song is getting, but it stings at the same time. I grew up with this game, and each song is near and dear to y heart, but seeing the song get called 'Ranboos song' or just something else hurts each time. not to even sound corny wit it or anything but I've genuinely been battling with myself for what feels like 3 years already, falling behind assignments, out of love and in it again only for an outcome that's always so obvious, yet I steer naively hoping it never ends up in a heartbreak only for me to be hit with the reality that I'm just simply not to happy with myself, and that I'm not gonna receive the love and care that I yearn for perhaps a long time. so many ambitions yet nothing to back my words up. The thought of it scares me, yet deep down I can't help but feel I might perhaps just be doomed. even if I don't wish to think so. Yep! Undertale is my favorite game, hands down. From its characters, to storywriting. But beyond all that, the music really struck with me. I quit playing the piano years ago, because my family enforced it for me to learn while I was growing up and a constant reminder that I never got to choose what I wanted when I was little. But Undertale's songs were just so moving and beautiful to listen to. Eventually it inspired me to place my hands on the piano's keys once more. And instead of seeing it as a reminder on how I never had a choice, I saw it as a choice for me whether or not I wanted to continue doing the piano. Since then I grew to actually like the piano. I constantly play Undertale's songs. I actually really want to see what it would be like if me and Toby Fox were to have a piano duet together. I really respect the man, and how much effort he puts into his games...

I kind of do too considering I have DID. When we (anyone in the system) dissociates, we stumble and become almost unable to hold ourselves up. I wish I was saying hyperbole. DID also causes something called dissociative amnesia. I can never remember anything. "What happened two days ago? This week?" "Why am I outside?" Questioning if we're real or just an edgy kid faking trauma and a whole disorder. And even so, we're not even free of our trauma yet. The innocent children in our system are subdued to yelling each and every day. But Undertale is still important to those of us who remember. We hope to be free one day and function as a family, but not anything like the body's.
