Arjen Yeah, I agree. I really don't know where the hate for Undertale fans is coming from. It often just seems to be based off of a stereotype that stems from a minority of more extreme Undertale fans. I love the game, and I think a lot of the fanmade content is pretty impressive (until they start doing Fan Fiction (no offense, just not a fan of that)). It's basically unfair to clump all fans into this image people have.

Alright, to hit you with some context Peebs, that creepy guy who was following you around the entire game, was Gaster, the man charged with bringing the human back to life. During his work, he fell into one of his experiments, and fell out of reality. He is omnipresent in Undertale, with many references to him, such as a sort of cult worshipping his work that appear on occasion throughout Hotland, and is even visible on rare occasion in a secret room in the waterfall. As for that girl you saw at the end, that was Chara, the first child to fall into the underground, and was adopted by Toriel and Asgore. She fell sick and died, causing the king to feel that he needs to slay every human that enters the underground. Although, after Chara died, she was buried under the golden flowers at the start of Undertale, and when you fall in, she joins you, and is actually the narrator for describing things and such. If you do a genocide route, after killing (Nearly) everyone in the underground, she will have obtained enough power to appear to you, before destroying the universe. I like the narrative of Slenderman outside of the shovelware games, and I like all of what i've heard about Undertale despite not playing it, but this seems a lot less like a fun fan game and more like a rushed cash in. Looks like Gaster here behaves the same way as Slender Man in Slender, with the exception of the sudden speed-up when he sees you. The sudden teleportation though is definitely a thing from Slender.

not sure this game is obscure enough for you, but have you ever played Addams Family Values? It was made for super nes, and even with a horrible save system, it's a really fun game and pretty difficult too. has exploration, puzzles, upgrades. there's a fair amount of backtracking, though, but it has a cool sound track and a large overworld. i think you would dig it

Yeah this is a fan game that really requires you to have played the official game to really "get" what's happening. The short version (minor spoilers about the plot) if you do the genocide run no matter if you restart your game all playthroughs are "corrupted" by this and your player character is always confirmed to have become Chara (the kid with the green shit). The only real way to truly restart the game is to actually manipulate the the files on the game folder itself or delete then reinstall the game. So basically this fan game would take place if you did the genocide run than beat the game on a pacifist run. For the game's "slenderman" that character is called W.D. Gaster. The lore on him is he's a character that got permanently deleted from the game after falling into one of his machines. Originally the only way to get him to show up in the game itself was by manipulating the game files. So yeah that explains his weirdly glitch like behaviour. Hope that makes sense of this game.
