The worst part about Asriel's story is that he didn't give in to Chara, he overpowered her determination to kill humans and chose not to kill. As a result he got to see the decline of his kingdom and home, his parents separate based on philosophy, then he experienced resetting the world over and over again as Flowey, killing everyone, watching what they all did every time over and over again. All along as Flowey he never realised that what he was looking for wasn't ultimate power. Just love. He wanted to feel what he used to feel before he died, to be understood, to be loved. Frisk gave that to him, Frisk forgave him for everything, for resetting, for killing, for tormenting. And in the face of Asriel's true power, Frisk didn't give up or back down and most importantly didn't give up on Asriel. Asriel's true dream was always to see humans and monsters united in peace. Frisk gives him this dream, accomplishes it for him. If Asgore felt horrible for killing six human children "For the betterment of monster-kind" then imagine Asriel with the ability to feel love and compassion again, imagine how intense his guilt and self-loathing would be. Asgore is the most tragic character and one of my favourites still, but Asriel is my "Best friend!" he's the guy that as gamers we can relate to him. He's done everything in every timeline, he's completed Undertale in every way imaginable... but we found the one way he didn't imagine. We saved him.

Undertale was probably one of the best story games i’ve ever played, not to be cliche. It was serious enough at points but never stayed that way. It used it’s humor to keep engrossed but never fully immersed so that you could remember that you’re still playing a game. And the thing thats probably going to stay with me the most is that no matter what, the happiest ending isn’t truly the happiest. You saved everyone. Except for the one that needed to be saved the most. Even with everyone finally getting their wish, there is one little boy that will never get his happy ending. The angel in the deltarune isn’t the fallen human, it’s asriel. The “angel” that would either doom the underground, or save them.

Thank you. All of you. To the players who never gave up, no matter how many times they had to load. To the Undertale Fandom, that even though we sometimes have our bad moments, moments where we get in petty fights or stupid debates, are at the end of the day, are just people. It's only natural that as people we fight with others: that's is an undisputed fact of life, no one is perfect. But even though a lot of people on the internet see the Undertale community as toxic, to me they have become my family. Even thinking about the fact that I'm about to type this next sentence out is a strange feeling. I know some of you won't believe me, but this game literally saved my life. I was in a state of severe depression, I had just lost everyone I knew at school. I'm a kid who is a big target of bullying. Because my friends weren't around anymore, the bullying got much worse. I was seriously considering committing suicide. Even thinking back to how close I had been to taking my life, is really scary to think about: I... had a noose, and I planned to use it... it's still...hard to think about. But then someone at school saw that I had been sketching Asriel. They introduced me to their own friends, and I found all of us loved Undertale. Because of the love for a game, I grew close to these people. They saved my life. Even today, as I type this, I still haven't been able to tell them that, because I know they would worry. They are extremely precious people to me. To this day, I would, without hesitation, give my life a million times if it meant I could protect them. I never would have met these people without this game. Even though some of us have moved out of the area or transferred schools, we are as close as ever... So thank you. Thank you so much. Not only to Toby Fox, who I doubt expected his game to save a life, and not only to those friends who pulled me out of that darkness. Thank *you* , both as an fellow Undertale fan, and as a light to others, even if you don't know it. If a video game can save the life of some random stranger on the internet, surely there is still love out there in the world. A love of life, of brotherhood and of sisterhood! I mean look at this! Fans of video games and gamers did what *NO* doctor, counselor, or psychiatrist could do for me; pull me out of that darkness which was so very close to consuming me. I know there will be people out there who don't believe my story: you don't have to, and I'm not asking you to. Undertale has always been so special to me in this way thats how hard to describe, but this remix really taps into it. It's about that sort of rise of emotion that just keeps building and building and building and never seems to end. The whole story is like a song in that sense, the characters and their journeys serving as the backing chorus and buildup to these grand songs. I'm not sure I have the words to truly express how this made me feel. Without hyperbole, this is one of the most beautiful things I have heard in my life. Maybe somehow, this song relates to my own life in a way. I'm not entirely sure if it does, but maybe it truly does represent the sentimentality in my soul. If Chara would not have been suicidal, the this would happen: Asriel would still be alive. There would be chance that Asgore and Toriel would have another child. Asgore and Toriel would (probably) still be together. In the game, we would see Asriel as a grown up, (The other child might almost be an adult) also as the new king. Asriel as the king might take after his father being at war with humans, so it _might_ not be as different. If he isn't then there wouldnt be any game, or everyone was against his idea and they still try to get your SOUL. There would be a whole new set of bosses, one having a high chance to be Monster Kid, but they might not either. The game may be a little easier considering Asriel might not train Undyne for battle so she isnt as strong, yet still determined. Asriel as king _might_ find a possible mate. Chara would never exist in this world. If this actually happened, Chara wouldnt be suicidal in the ways of trying to fall to death, guns or hanging might be the matter. If Asriel fought back when the humans attacked him, there would be a whole different case scenario

Damnit!!! I can't help but relate to this song!! 3 years ago I almost died and while I was unconscious I spent time with my diseased dad. And I vividly remember having a conversation so close to this as we said our goodbyes. I can't lie. If I could trade places with him or my sister I'd do it in a heart beat. I MISS THEM TOO MUCH!!😭
