Rewatching this made me realize all the connections Spamton NEO has to Mettaton. The yellow soul, the mini versions that attack if you don't shoot them, attacking using their heart, the bombs that explode in a + shape, even to an extent the talking in all caps. Mettaton has "rec" and "rew," Spamton NEO in the snowgrave route has "wreck" and "spew." Not to mention that they both have NEO forms. Probably lots of other similarities I missed too.
