To me, the statue is the centerpiece of this game. It shows that true character, true innocence, true goodness can happen even when no one is around to witness it. Even if it doesn't affect anyone. The act of placing the umbrella on top of the statue proves that we can make the world a better place one small, insignificant step at a time. i believe that it is simply for Asriel. considering the fact that it lightly plays during the finale of the omega flowey battle, my thought is that it was Asriel's music box. it also plays under the events of the barrier destruction. plus, scince it's used to open a room to an ancient artifact, it has some ties to the underground specifically.

This statue was probably a memorial to Asriel, built by Asgore and then placed at the hotel, before Mettaton removed it. The lullaby the music box it plays is probably the same one Tori and Gorey used to hum to baby Asriel. We know that Asgore enjoys humming songs, like when we first meet him... "Dum Dee Dum... Oh , Howdy!"

Same here. There's so much evil and darkness in humans. Monsters, however... Yeah. I'd be much happier among them. If I were in Frisk's place, I'd have probably stayed for a while, then decided whether or not I was going to fight Asgore. The thing is, if I were to stay in the Underground and die of old age or for any reason, then I could willingly give my Soul to the monsters afterward. Then they could go free, and I could enjoy my time with them while it lasts. Of course, I could also choose to get True Pacifist and set them free earlier. It would all depend on my Determination. Nonetheless, I DO wish that I could be with these characters. Toriel, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys.. All of them. Above all else, I want Asriel to come back somehow. Little goat-child never deserved to suffer.

actually making a music box like that isn't too hard if you're using the do it yourself type of music box mechanism where you take a sheet and punch out the holes in it. If you want the music box with the cylinder though, that's a different story.

This game was truly a milestone of a game to play. I couldn't help but stand and applaud it for how great it was. The loveable characters, the intriguing story of it all. I am so tempted to try and make an animation for this song. Here's how it would go. (After True Reset) Frisk and Monster Kid are walking through Waterfall, Frisk holding the umbrella. Frisk notices the statue and realizes they forgot what happens If you give the statue an umbrella and hands theirs to it. Memory starts playing, and memories of Asriel flood through Frisk's mind. Frisk breaks down sobbing and Monster Kid tries to comfort them. The scene fades out, and the only thing you can hear is the raindrops and Memory. I made like 5 of you cry didn't I? I'm so sorry.

I first found out about this game in 2016, when I was just a little kid. I absolutely fell in love with it, and it got me through a really rough time during that part of my life. Fast forward three years later, and I was able to play Undertale for myself. The sheer joy I felt throughout my entire playthrough, especially when I heard this music box in Waterfall and then again on the end screen, is nearly inexplicable. I felt really whole, like my entire life had been leading up to me playing this game. I know that sounds really silly, but Undertale has deeply impacted me and will always have a precious place in my heart. :)

There's something I have to say. The statue for the piano mini-game... When it plays this music, sound familiar? It's Asriel's theme. It explains it all too well. The statue has horns, it looks like it's in bad shape and you could hardly see what's so obvious about it... It's Asriel's tombstone.

When I got to this scene for the first time I stood there, just watching the screen and hearing the music with my mouth open, I couldn't believe what I was hearing, it was my first playtrough and I was already feeling emotionally attached to something I don't even know.
