Undertale OST - Small Shock (Genocide) 10 HOURS

If you finish these 10 hours, you'll probably feel pretty lonely. Anyway, this is my favorite part of the genocide run, and in my opinion the most depressing part of the whole game including all runs. After playing this part I just wanted to stare at a wall and contemplate my life.

I decided to follow in your footsteps. I would erase myself from existence. And you know what? I succeeded. But as I left this mortal coil... I started to feel apprehensive. If you don't have a SOUL, what happens when you...? Something primal started to burn inside me. "No," I thought. "I don't want to die!" ... Then I woke up. Like it was all just a bad dream. I was back at the garden. Back at my "save point." Interested, I decided to experiment. Again and again, I brought myself to the edge of death. At any point, I could have let this world continue on without me. But as long as I was determined to live... I could go back. Amazing, isn't it, [Player]? I was amazed, too. At first, I used my powers for good. I became "friends" with everyone. I solved all their problems flawlessly. Their companionship was amusing... For a while. As time repeated, people proved themselves predictable. What would this person say if I gave them this? What would they do if I said this to them? Once you know the answer, that's it. That's all they are. It all started because I was curious. Curious what would happen if I killed them. "I don't like this," I told myself. "I'm just doing this because I HAVE to know what happens." Ha ha ha... What an excuse! You of all people must know how liberating it is to act this way. At least we're better than those sickos that stand around and WATCH it happen... Those pathetic people that want to see it, but are too weak to do it themselves. I bet someone like that's watching right now, aren't they...? Nowadays, even that's grown tiring. Not so long ago I turned 20. 9 years ago I made friends with a boy who I thought he was good. It was fun and good with him, I thought. But he mocked me all these three years, I couldn't get away from him, because I was afraid, and I don't like to fight. 13th of August 2013 - I'm finally got away from him, because I realised how many made stupid things and that he is not who he is. I'm got away from him with wounds in my soul, and now this past no longer excites me. That's my fault and mistake to make friends with him. After this escape, I no longer made friends and I decided to be on my own. I just don't want to make friends no more - thoughts of friends, love, joy, positive just tear me apart, cause disgust and trembling all over my body. I no longer have depression, and being alone is just joy. In conclusion I will say, I only have a mom, and that’s enough.

5 years later.....still picking out gems to listen too......quite interesting hearing this at 2am, alone in my bed, open dark room, nothing but phone in hand. Feeling of tranquility and loneliness have washed over me listening to this in quarantine. This song, despite it's simplicity brings out the most complex of thoughts. Truly something to contemplate your life to. Wondering how everything got here, where it all might end up.....just as intended like you find yourself doing in the game...although this time it's more so from a lack of action rather than feeling guilty about taking the genocide route from pure curiousity and choice. The original version of this lives up to its name, it's just a small shock, maybe a pleasant surprise, but the genocide version? It sounds tired, like it's just you're dealing with the same thing over and over again, and you've gone numb from it. It's amazing how Toby Fox was able to change the whole mood of TWO NOTES just by slowing it down to 60%
