If you take a bow, shoot 300 *creatures of the same species* and they just stand there and take the arrow to their head, you don't say "Hmm, maybe those creatures don't know how to dodge, but I'm not sure" Not everything needs to be said directly to be proven, some things can just be told through the player experience with the world. Now regarding the HUD, it is mostly a speculation in Undertale, however in Deltarune Ralsei addresses the HUD directly, which means that at least your character can see all those buttons.

Sans technically does deal one damage per attack. However, the karma status effect you get disabled invincibility frames, adds a poison effect, and prevents attack from vanishing after landing a hit, cause the one damage to be dealt every frame. Also, his hp is actually 1.People argue that it isn’t and that he dies because of the high damage, but in the code, he actually has 1 health, meaning that if he tripped on a rock he’d be dead. If it weren’t for the karma effect, his fight would be a breeze.

Toriel,Asriel,Muffet and a lot of monster can do the same.Yes he don't want to kill you,he want to capture you and hand you over to become a royal squire and become famous but that doesn't mean Papyrus can't fight hard because those who have higher ATK than papyrus and want to kill us like in Core can deals more damage to us than papyrus even with the same or more DEF than when fighting Papyrus. Controlling your own damage or stats is something that any monster can do.

Papyrus is actually a lot more powerful than people give him credit for. He is the only character who can create super coordinated attacks (e.g. Spelling out cool dude in bones) and also he can control how much damage you lose. There is no way to die to papyrus, not because he isn't powerful, but because he is too nice to kill you, so I think if he went all out you would be pretty screwed edit: i forgot to mention this but another thing is that toriel obviously didnt want to kill frisk, but still ended up killing them by accident anyway, either because she didnt know how to finish her attack or she didnt know how to control the damage her attacks do, or even where they go complately. in toriels fight, she can oint her bullets away from you sure, but she still cant get them to actively move away from frisk

Something i think a lot of ppl forget abt sans is that he only does so much damage to the player because of karma, their sins at that point, it bleeds your health at the hp per frame rate then acts as poison damage. Yes he can teleport and summon QUITE the barrage if he really feels like it, but put him against someone like undyne and he wouldnt be doing much Also, he cant see other timelines, he only makes inferred guesses based on the player's expressions and "studies" which i believe to be gaster's research/machinery

People have a theory on how the more a character moves, the harder they are trying to kill you. Yet Papyrus and Toriel are simply PNGs. Papyrus is probably much more powerful than a B tier, but the weakness of believing in everyone really bumps him down.

Well it makes sense. Toriel and Papyrus can’t kill you, unless you force it in Toriel’s case. The regular monsters are trying to kill you, and move quite a bit. Asgore is trying to kill, but is hesitant so moves less. Undyne, normal and Undying, Mettaton, Sans, Omega Flowey and Asriel move a LOT, and are absolutely trying to kill you

You forgot about Flowey's ability to absorb an inconceivable amount of damage. By the end of the genocide route you're dealing enough damage to fill the whole screen with 9s and Flowey survives like 10 hits.

By the way, Undyne gives the player half a spear to block with, not a shield, as seen through her manipulation animation. Edit: I did the research and playtested it myself, and apparently, if you get hit by all Undyne's spears, she soon says "Look, I gave you a spear to block my attacks with." So yeah, theres proof.

For those who don't know, the special dogs (Including temmie, which is also a cat) are representations of staff members. The one that you see the most throughout undertale, "Annoying Dog", is the strongest of them all. The annoying dog represents Toby Fox, the main director or creator or whatever he is (Because I forgot.) Annoying dog pulls the strings of almost every undertale character. The special dogs can do anything they want. Temmie can probably do anything, but chooses not to. They hold back more than any character in a fight, and try to be as cute as possible. Temmie also sells one of, if not, the best armour in the game. The only flaw to tem armour is the fact that temmie needs 3 things to be true in order to sell it. 1: Temmie has been payed 1K Gold by the human for college. 2: The human has enough gold (Which starts at 9999, but lowers all the way down to 750, which is still high in undertale.) to pay for tem armour. 3: The human is NOT on the genocide route. Tem armour helps massively in the pacifist route, but makes fights unfair. But you can buy some items, then sell them for a lower price. The tem shop is the only shop in the entire game that you can sell items to. Sorry for rambling for so long.

Lesser dog's petting ability is actually his strongest ability. I'd say being able to completely distract the opponent from fighting by being goofy, cute, and a little physics defying is a highly effective defense/stall tactic when it works, and it won't be in the way if it doesn't. Sure, he stops attacking if you pet him enough, but it would take longer to get him there than to just kill him anyways.

The problem with this is that many things are up to speculation, and taking battles as fact is quite inaccurate to power levels. People say Sans' KR only works when you have a high LV, but it's never actually confirmed what exactly KR *is*. Many characters aren't fighting with 100% of their power. Asgore doesn't really want to kill you, and therefore isn't properly trying, who knows how powerful he actually is, because he sure as hell ain't king of monsters for nothing! Toriel was also most likely holding back, as I highly doubt she would be putting in her all against Frisk, she too wasn't the queen for nothing. Papyrus was also holding back. We never see his special attack, so who knows what that could be. He never intends to kill you, and he obviously has quite a lot of control over his magic to be able to stop without killing you, even Toriel can't do that. Also, if Sans is really oh so powerful, shouldn't Papyrus be as well? They are brothers after all. Even Sans wasn't giving it his all, but he probably wouldn't be that much more powerful. His capabilities are really overshadowed by his stats, and low stamina. However, we don't know his HP for sure, since it's never shown and the player is very powerful from their LV by that point, even Asgore died in one hit, but he was basically offering up his soul to be murdered anyways so 🤷 What I'm trying to say is, a whole lot of power levels are just speculation. We don't know exactly how powerful each character is, guessing could blow it way out of proportion, and taking their power from battle at face value is inaccurate as well. Now of course, a decent amount of what I said I do personally headcanon, like Sans' HP and how KR works. But if we wanna be canon here, you gotta accept that we just don't have the necessary information to make an accurate tier list of power levels.

The flowey ranking is CRAZY. He’s been said to “have done everything” in this world, including KILLING everyone (except for maybe a select few like Asgore and Sans). And, this was all done WITHOUT the 6/7 souls, as it’s also been stated he has never gotten Asgore to show them to him. So, uh, that’s a bit of a misstep. Edit: also, sans as an actual fighter would be relatively weak, since his ability depends on his opponent being evil. I guess if you disregard stats his abilities are powerful, but his stats are FAR too weak to utilize this strength.

Sans is infact able to see past resets and know when and how the player has died, yes he is smart but he does know and remember killing frisk over and over and does remember resets, if you pay attention to his dialogue in the genocide route he tells uyou the exact number you have died until it gets up to a certain point or number idk which number, but after a certain amount times of dying he just says "lets get straight to the point". him being able to see resets is a fact via dialogue and straight up confirmed by toby- in his genocide dialogue he says that if he were to see the surface, it would all just be reset again, and because of that it makes it hard for him to give it his all. I also forgot to mention that if you do spare sans when he gives you the option to in the genocide run, if you do spare him he kills you and says "if you are sorry you won't come back" he is literally the only character that knows there is a player other than Flowey and Gaster, also fun fact Asgore is also aware of resets and when Frisk dies, he just doesn't remember or see resets like Sans does, though he does remember killing you. And about the comment you made of "why doesn't Asgore just dodge" no one except for sans is able to dodge humans if they where Undyne would dodge and the game would be so much harder. I didn't see anyone in the coment section stating that alphys did NOT hack the machines of the underground, she just has permition to control them. It is stated by metaton before you fight him that everything happening in hotland and the core is staged by alphys so she can participate in frisk adventure. He even lock her out of the fight and she can only enter the room after metaton was neutralised. So in my opinion alphys should be lower on the list.

Actually Gaster has some hidden stats in the game files and they’re pretty high 666666 hp and 66666 attack plus 66666 defence would make him a very powerful opponent also he was likely to use gaster blasters because they’re called after him his followers also state that he was very intelligent and that he made the core by himself (i think It’s a pretty big achievement since the core produces enough power for the entire underground) also gaster has something to do with deltarune (in entry 17 he’s talking about negative photons which could refer to Dark world and anything associated with It) We might get more info about Gaster in the next chapters of deltarune so maybe this will show us more of his abilities

I'm pretty sure that Flowey's soul absorbing ability only works if 1, the soul he wants to absorb is not inside a body. Since he absorbed the six human souls. Or 2, if he has at least six souls plus whatever soul he is trying to absorb is not inside a human body. This is because when he absorbs the souls of the all the monsters right before the Asriel boss fight, he has already absorbed the human souls. I know this because he literally says so in his speech right after attacking the squad. Also he probably can't absorb a soul inside a human body even with seven souls since he doesn't absorb Frisks soul, but that could be explained as him toying with you. Hard to say.

At that one scene where papyrus has that huge trap with all of thoose weapons, he has the annoying dog. Meaning papyrus had the power to rewrite EVERYTHING he could free everyone, make himself the head of the royal guard, make it so he has everyones attacks, capture the human infinitly, he is trully a god

seeing the NEO body in deltarune, Mettaton NEO probably only died because he transferred all of his defense into attack, which is something the NEO body can do on the fly. (the opposite is done at the end of deltarune's weird route)
