Nothing too fancy about this one, if anything it's more of just an addition to some instruments, patterns, etc. The mixing on this one wasn't as good as i'd hope it would be but it turned out better than I anticipated. Hey, i'm satisfied with it sounds like a more refined and more tragic version of "Tears in the Rain" in my opinion.

I hear a lot of people talk (or imply) about how Sans remembers everything. Sans can only tell via Frisk's expressions about your time jumps, and make logical guesses based off of that. The game's concept of "remembering" is based completely off of Determination, and even Sans admits that he's lost motivation a long time ago. Multiple other characters also relate that Frisk looks off, however, Sans takes this to a whole new level.

I think my favorite concept for a sans neutral battle would be a post genocide run. Its going through the normal thing, but all of san's dialog is just a little 'off'. More aggressive and a lot of his pranks are meaner. You kill king fluffy and flowey shows up to try to be threatening... Only for him to realize all of the hearts are blue. "you know i tried to forgive you" "you reset after you got what you wanted and didn't kill anyone" "but you know, I can't allow them to go through cycle again" "so we won't be leaving here for a while" "N o t u n t i l t h e b o t h o f y o u g i v e u p t h a t p o w e r"

In case you didn't know. Flowey has no soul, any form of soul magic won't work on Flowey because he lacks it. So no blue mode, no green mode, no purple mode, no yellow mode, no nothing. If Frisk were to actually die, Flowey would regain the power of RESET and LOAD almost immediately.

@@Marblesoda821 Depends, if another monster got their soul or the six human souls they may be able keep the power for themselves in the event of the human's death. Flowey's still second in terms of strength to a human's determination after all. So for a hot second it'd be a game of if flowey could get the heart or not, and completely or moving back to an old save point would just put the human in charge. So in all scenarios he wants to get the souls first.

@@DemonKing19951 I mean if Sans were to successfully kill Frisk, as in Frisk's soul breaks and doesn't comeback then Flowey by default would just gain back control since the ability to Save and Reset just goes to whomever has the highest levels of determination, according to Flowey he lost the ability to reset as soon as Frisk fell meaning he's been able to Reset with all the other humans, and that it just goes to the being with the highest DT that's still alive, along with Flowey's lack of a soul he's basically immune to soul modes and KR as they all rely on the victim having a soul to begin with, he and Sans would be fighting until Flowey just outlasts him since Flowey has stated he's killed everyone countless times when he still had the ability to Reset.

So no, it's not exactly canonized he has higher determination than a human and it's almost outright stated otherwise by the fact a single human child could achieve it. It's also pointed out in canon that a human's soul can persist after death. Otherwise the six human souls wouldn't still be around. So no, someone would end up getting his soul in that situation and it'd likely be sans for simply being faster. Ultimately changing up the power balance here pretty drastically in Sans' favor since he would both have a human soul and likely reset/full reset memory on his side. (Rather than just the inclination to change his strategy as he sees his enemy becoming too familiar with his attacks.) I believe it's also stated somewhere that flowey never actually got past sans. I can't remember where so don't take my word for it, but I do remember somewhere in canon he implies his dislike for sans comes from the fact he's the boss he can't beat. Either that or I'm confusing him for Asgore, in either case one of them was the reason Flowey didn't get the six human souls before this. Regardless, I don't actually know if KR is stated to rely on having a soul or not. Soul modes are obvious, I'll give you that, but KR just cares about your sins. Though even if it's claimed that KR doesn't work on him, Sans still has attacks that don't care about I-frames and the ability to teleport. Combine that with a humans soul buff, or as I originally implied a 6 human souls buff and flowey isn't winning that fight nor are they resetting their way back out of it until Sans sees they've changed/chara does something. Since it's post genocide run, I just remembered Frisk's heart isn't even up for grabs anymore so flowey doesn't have that to rely on. Just the whims of a psychopathic child and a vengeful skeleton that are both definitely worlds above anything Frisk and Flowey should be dealing with due to DT and soul boosts.
