It's strange, we break what was left of a soulless Chara by forcing Frisk to killed countless numbers of monster and it's treated like it's a horribly atrocious act. Yet when we force Clover to commit the same acts, we turn him into cold blood murderer that's likely to gut a friend at the drop of hat for doing something miniscule, it's suddenly the right thing for them to do. UTY has weird logic.

In the original undertale your actions lead to the world getting destroyed but in yellow your actions lead to the destruction of a kingdom that’s fully set on destroying humanity that’s a pretty big difference

If people are unwilling to let a tragic character like Asgore be forgiven for indirectly killing six children (or god forbid Alphys with the damn fandom's twisted standards), then characters like Flowey and Clover should not be given the pass, the former committed mass murder across space-time, and the latter still doomed not only Monsters but any humans that falls down there, after massacring everything in their way. Not to mention the player (us) essentially destroyed Clover's personality, very similarly to what happened to Frisk in UT.

⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@@Magma-Idiot-2001 All it takes to justify the genocide route is this simple premise “In a war, when the attacking side declares that the goal is the complete extermination of the enemy population, the defending side is justified in taking whatever actions they deem necessary to ensure their own survival.” Not saying I fully agree with that but in the case of genocide clover it’s justified the other examples you give do not apply because the circumstances and stakes are completely different you’re engaging in a false equivalency fallacy also the developers of Undertale yellow have stated that the player isn’t controlling clover so canonically speaking everything that Clover does in the genocide route is of their own volition

I like it but it doesn't convey the same "surprisingly cheery music for someone committing murder" feeling that the original had. It should have happier vibes. Quite ironic but honestly that's what makes the original so good.
