In fact, I think maybe Clover easily befriending Martlet could have prompted a change in how new guards are recruited by time Frisk falls into the Underground and would then make it where someone like Papyrus might not be easily accepted as a new recruit for the Royal Guard.

A friend told me about this game (i had never heard about at that point) releasing, decided to give it a try after not knowing of the Undertale community for like the past 4 years. How has no one mentioned (that I've seen) the double meaning of the song's title? When you look up the definition of apprehension the first two definitions that you get are: fearful or uneasy anticipation of the future and to arrest/capture. Both of these fit Martlet in this moment. The second definition is the most obvious in how it fits; she's a royal guard and her job is to "apprehend" humans. For the first one, even though it's her job, Martlet doesn't feel comfortable with doing it because Clover is a child. In other words, she feels "apprehensive" about capturing Clover. I get that this is probably somethig that many people have put together by now, but I still love details like these.

It's so interesting to me how much... _weaker_ Clover is in comparison to Frisk. Frisk beats fully-armored royal guard in a handful of hits with a glove, Martlet, whom Flowey even says is not impressive for a royal guard, would die quickly if they fought. Yet she puts up a good fight against Clover. _A_ royal guard gave Clover the same fight Frisk has against many Boss Monsters. It's a nifty detail.

It's not strength that's the factor here. Monsters are weak to killing intent. The higher your LV, the less your care and the greater your intent to kill. Clover not only meets Martlet early, which means low LV, but is on a justice/vengeance quest. Hence why people like North Star note that Genocide Clover still had some semblance of nobility. Frisk met Undyne much later into the game, and with the goal of pure genocide, to the point that Toriel specifically said "you really hate me that much?" when getting oneshotted (because again, it's not strength; monsters are weak to killing intent).

You can. I played OG Undertale and played/achieved TP without guidance due to Toriel (and post o.f boss fight dialogue). She recommends to "fight" with words instead of attacks and reach a peaceful solution, so that's what i did, and do to this very day. It doesn't require additional playtime to get to know and love/care for the characters. Besides, even if you claimed it did, i can just acquire said knowledge by watching a gen/neu run. See? Personally taking those paths aren't necessary.

Fun fact (im not fully sure if its true): You can start a geno run in snowdin even if you spare everyone in the ruins, this means that you can go pacifist, get silver scarf then start killing everyone, this battle becomes easier doing this

What's with blue bird characters having pretty decent themes? There's Kass from Breath of the Wild, Berdly from Deltarune, and now Martlet from Undertale Yellow. There's likely more but those are the examples that come to mind.

I can't even tell you how many times I heard this theme. I thought I had to kill her in the first encounter, so when she did a "tactical retreat" I was unimaginably pissed. I tried for hours and hours, and eventually realized I had to do all perfect shots with the ice pellets without missing or healing a SINGLE time. It sucked, but I finally did it. And I got her at 1 hp, and I took a shot, and... no damage. I looked it up, and when I found out I didn't have to kill her I was SO mad. 6ish hours of my life gone. Yes I suck at the game, but what the heck who else was gonna try that. I still enjoy the song, though, it was one of the most epic songs I've ever heard. Up there with the flowey fight theme.
