A violin and guitar cover of "Your Best Nightmare" and "Finale" from the indie game Undertale.
Probably the most challenging to arrange among my Undertale covers, took a while but once I figured out the right approach, it was all smooth sailing from there, kinda. Even if it took almost a year of mental trial and error.
But for it to work, I had to channel several composer's styles who has been an inspiration to me that serves the arrangement. There were bits of Nobuo Uematsu, Koji Kondo, Bach, Carl Orff and even U2 in the mix, to name a few. I'm very happy with the result and I hope you are too! Enjoy!

Finale in my opinion is one of the most underrated tracks in the game. It's almost always "megolovania" this or "battle against a true hero" that. Now I will admit, I do like those tracks as well, but Finale will always be my favorite. Not to mention this cover just made it even better.

Great job, great idea and creativity. I'm curious how long did it take to write and record this? Did you plan playing this song or was it spontaneous challange?

Thank you! This type of song, a multi-faceted, multi-sectional piece, needs a lot of planning. I did add some improv parts in the violin solo at the end but for the bigger picture, it's all planned and it took almost a year.

Maybe 4-5 months of on-off arrangement sessions. The great thing about creating a new arrangement without the pressure of deadlines is that you can take your time in the pre-arrangement planning. That involves lots of lists, listening to related music, thinking in the clouds, daydreaming about the music, and NOT the actual arranging and writing yet. I wait until I believe and feel that I'm ready mentally and emotionally after ingesting all that information. If you've reached that level of preparation, the actual arranging sessions become less difficult. Mind you, it's still not easy, but being prepared made it smoother.
