Neeko is a copy cat, her main ability is to change shape, in her theme at around 4:44, we can hear a violin and dulcimer "talking", this is a way to simulate Neeko trying to shape herself into a new form, as if she was the violin and the other was the dulcimer, until finally she managed to resemble each other enough for the two to sing together at 5:15

Yuumi's theme fits her lore kind of. At the start it repeats the same motif (the one with the weird scale), never quite leaving home. But it goes 'missing', never once reappearing in the song, and that's where it starts getting more adventurous with its ideas. It reflects Yuumi's life with her owner Nora, who goes missing, with Yuumi and Book going after her. Pure musical storytelling
