Undervolt tutorial guide for intel 13th gen & 14th gen 13600K,13700K,13900K |ASUS strix bios

For anyone watching this after updating BIOS the last 2 week or after this (to microcode 0x125 or 0x129), SVID Behavior is now set to Intel's failsafe as default. Change this to auto for this to work. If your CB23 scores are low after doing this, you have core stretching. Either disable IA CEP or match IA AC/DC manually to prevent this.

Thanks, disabling IA CEP did fix the issue. Should we disable SA CEP too or leave it on Enabled? Also, I saw many put the SVID to Trained or Typical instead of auto. Auto gives me too high temps. What do you think? ( Intel 13700k)

@@KingNovek If anything, I recommend setting SVID Behavior to Auto, Load Line Calibration level to 5, and setting both IA AC and IA DC to 0.72, with IA CEP to Enabled. Should be stable. Open HW info, check if VIDs and Vcore voltage is the same, if they are not, lower IA AC as low as possible (or until VIDs and Vcore match up) without core clock stretching or instability. Then adjust it IA AC back up with an extra 0.05, just so you are sure it wont be unstable in edge cases. If you can't get it stable, Try LLC 4, 0.98 on both AC and DC and lower AC until unstable or core clock stretching. Leave SA CEP alone. Auto does nothing unless you change LLC level with it. Auto is LLC 3 = 1.1 AC and DC. As an example, setting LLC 4 without changing DC manually with IA CEP on default (enabled) will set your AC to 0.4, DC to 1 and you have core clock stretching. You can change SVID Behavior to Typical, but then you have to adjust DC to match AC, or you will probably have core clock stretching.

13700k did 29000 with default intel settings on r23, but this setup ran 10c cooler and did 29700 with the undervolt. It pulled almost 20c temps out of games due to this being more of a smaller case. Thanks for the help!

I have an ASUS Z790-E motherboard with a 13900KF processor, and I'm using microcode 129. After adjusting the undervolt settings and setting the DDR speed to 6000 MHz with XMP turned off, my system is incredibly stable and faster than I've ever experienced before. Previously, when I enabled the XMP profile, I encountered blue screens, so I didn't try it again. Thanks A lot.

That is very inefficient... You're settting a FIXED voltage, preventing your CPU from chilling down when idle. Proper undervolting is done by using Offset Mode, which will apply the negative offset to the entire VID range, + LLC for better voltage regulation in high loads. Manual mode for undervolting is just very inefficient.

Had to undervolt and do not know the efficient way yet but am working on learning Second setup Asus rog strix z790-f gaming wifi II W/ intel i7 14700k Asus dual series rtx 4070ti super OC edition with same cooler with the 3 nice strix fans and 4 asus tuf tf120 fans samsung 990 pro 4tb same ram running same speed as on the dark hero Mb (fml) and cpu still over heats. Also Had to undervolt. Have you had a 14900k to compare the 14900ks to? From what i have seen the 14900ks cannot get more than 2% better performance than the 14900k yet and also overheats but i havent tried the 14900ks yet But the performance.. i think the ks will get better if you use the asus rog ryujin 3 360mm extreme version of the cpu cooler when it comes out ? And a new bios drops. Im guessing the ks will still need undervolting. What do you think?

Followed your guide, temps definitely went down for the better. No more throttling and max temps go to 78 degrees during cinebench.. Scoring 20729 pts on a 14900k though. Doesn't seem good in comparison to your 13700k result. Do you have any recommendations?

I followed your instructions and while temperatures dropped considerably (around -20°C), it also lowered performance to singlecore to 1,882pts and multicore to 12.3Kpts and a maximum temperature of 78°c. It's much less than half, crazy😭, please if you can advise me I would appreciate it. 🙏🏻🙇🏻‍♂️

@vijaysharma2215 Hi mate, yes, I solved it and easier than I thought. The only thing I had to do was to update the BIOS to the latest version. While in this video this "solution" is given, what is really done is to layer the processor, for that reason the temperature is low but the performance is significantly reduced. Now I'll explain why this happens, the Intel processors 12th, 13th, 14th gen came with a fucking power supply, like a glass of water filled to the brim, somehow some assemblers thought it was a good idea to remove the consumption limit so that the processors would have a slight increase in performance. Giving free rein to the processor, until it reached the thermal trothing (when the processor reaches a high temperature, like 100°C in Intel and automatically layers its performance for safety, as it can burn out) reaching those overconsumption of up to 600W in the i9 13th and 14th gen (being its standard 260W at most). As I told you before, stock processors were already like a glass full of water about to overflow (which gave instability and therefore blue screens), so that bad bet of the assemblers was the straw that broke the camel's back. Unfortunately, some processors suffered irreversible damage as a result, as they have been burned internally, considerably reducing their performance. Intel has already provided support and replacement, as they are largely to blame for not communicating this to the motherboard assemblers. I recommend you to update the BIOS of your motherboard to the latest version available, test without touching anything once updated (since the latest versions come by default without that absurd consumption delimiter they had before), if you notice less performance than what your processor should give, better resort to the warranty. Something important regarding the temperature, is that they are inevitably hot processors, especially i7 and i9, but in case they get to make thermal trothing, it is more due to the cooling you have, I changed to a 360mm aio and gives me a maximum temperature of 81 ° C, with a score of 28.8k pts in cinemench. @@carlosgamess Thank you for the explanation ! I did update to my Asus motherboards latest bio and did not touch anything and during Cinebench and shot instantly up to 100C still. Now i think i may have fixed it. The ONLY thing i touched was "Actual VRM Core Voltage" and set that to manual form auto and put typed in 1.40. My temps during cinebench stayed under 91C easily, no throttling and although i think its still a little low my score was 21000 now
