Underwater audio sample footage using full face mask

The OTS Guardian FFM breaths nicely. It's uses any first stage regulator and the second stage that plus into the FFM delivers a lot of air. The biggest difference is having it integrated and not having a mouthpiece to bite down on. The first stage IP can be adjusted to deliver more air or tuned down to you liking.

Hope that you don't mind a simple question. I dived for a lot of years with scube - but back then we never had this technology to talk underwater. What kind of distances are "workable" with the voice communication? How close do divers have to be - to hear each other? Or, how far apart before you start losing the ability to hear other divers? Thanks.

@@suelipollock4807 It depends on the equipment. For hard-wired systems (used mainly by commercial divers for surface-to-diver communications) it depends on the length of the cable. For wireless systems (most of which use ultrasonic waves transmitted through the water) it varies from about 50 meters for lower-priced recreational systems up to 1,000 meters (in ideal conditions) for higher-priced systems (and reportedly more than 20 kilometers for some military systems). Range can be affected by ambient noise, water turbulence, etc., but even with inexpensive systems it's pretty good.

Sharks rarely bother divers; they know we're not their normal prey. Most shark attacks on humans happen at the surface or in murky water, where mistaken identity comes into play. (From down below, a surfer paddling a board looks a lot like a sea lion swimming.)

Not on the Guardian; it -- like most full-face masks -- uses a proprietary regulator from the manufacturer. There are, though, a few FFMs that do work with standard scuba regulators. I have an OTS Spectrum mask (from the same company as the Guardian) that I use with an Aqua~Lung Legend LX Supreme. It would work well with an Apeks second stage as well. ScubaPro makes a similar mask, and Kirby-Morgan makes a modular mask (the mouth unit can detach from the mask unit) that accepts most standard regulators. There are a few others besides these three, including a cheap knockoff of the Spectrum from China, but I haven't used them. The OTS Spectrum has a port for attaching the same OTS Communication units as the Guardian and other OTS masks, and recording audio would be virtually identical to that shown in this video.

I bough this mask leisurepro month ago and my review after 20 dives with this mask really sucks, especially location of joint bolt for frame pressing face bone. and underwater when start breathing with nose mask start shaking from equalizing block. And air consume too much like at least 20% over with normal mask. if double tank or side mount diver or fun dive for no current maybe good for use, but diving in tough place with one tank don't recommend at all.
