That is a great video. Some really nice waleye. Many years ago I went to a Christian camp on the lake. Not sure if its still there. I remember duving off the dock and seeing a muskie looking at me.

That’s awesome! Yea that lake has a really nice walleye population and Muskie. Was the camp called Mission Meadows?

@@warnerhuntohio1129 I can't remember anymore. That was @55 years ago. I remember canoeing across to Jamestown and listening to an open air concert. It was very beautiful there.

Never saw not one Crappie. Strange. Curious where you were. Seen a ton of walleyes. More than I expected.
@warnerhuntohio112910 ай бұрын
I rarely do see crappie. It maybe just the locations I’m fishing are usually outer edge of weed beds. If I was closer to some sunken structure it might be different

I usually never film crappie. I know there are schools elsewhere but never where I film.

really nice footage! are there tench in there too?
@warnerhuntohio1129 Жыл бұрын
I do not believe so. I would say the closest thing to that in there would be the common carp. Thanks for watching!

Mayville/Dewittville is my guess. That’s why you seen tons of perch and no Crappies.

Kinda sad to see so many white perch and no crappies or smallies.
@warnerhuntohio112911 ай бұрын
There is a ridiculous amount of white perch. I rarely get crappie. I do get a lot more big smallmouth towards the end of June when they move off beds.

@@warnerhuntohio1129 The lake simply isn't what it once was. I've been away for many years, but this last year I finally really fished. It was tough to get anything but perch most of the time, and not good perch. I RARELY, really rarely find schools of crappie, and never get any smallies, at least not more than one in a long stretch. I'm a skilled angler and I've fished this lake successfully for decades. I know this lake. This lake used to be a fish factory, and now it's actually worse than almost anyplace else, in almost every way except muskies, and that is really only just ok. I used to regularly get 5lb+ smallies, and 1.5+ crappies. Used to catch MORE crappies than perch. Now you get 50-100 under sized perch and a bunch of who cares what size they are white perch. White bass used to be common. Now they are rare. Bass of both species are far less common. The lake is sick, and no one is doing anything meaningful about it. The lake is an absolute cesspool all summer. It's frankly disgusting. I see people out there tubing, water skiing, and swimming and I think how can they stand going in this water. The green slime lake.
