I thought I would see TONS of Pinfish. I'm really surprise to see such a large number of Sheepsheads down there. Thanks for the video, pretty cool.
@kenbrannphotography Жыл бұрын
There are usually pinfish about. Just depends on which bridge pylon you're near. Sheepshead are pretty ubiquitous in Tampa Bay and surrounding areas. They are almost everywhere where you find structure. Not that they are always there. But if you see any fish it is almost guaranteed some of those will be sheepshead.

What is the water depth at that span of the pier, 25 feet or so?

This is on the southside so I would say 20 feet.

Currently, I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro. I'm hoping once I upgrade to a GoPro and start using a red filter I won't have so much green. The V50 made it a little better. But I still use my old cameras as well and they are as green as grass.

Do you know if anyone has ever gotten footage of the fallen span of the original bridge? Or was all that debris removed after the accident? And the cars?
@kenbrannphotography3 жыл бұрын
From what I understand, the center spans where moved off the ends of both piers to form reefs. I would think some diver has been out with a GoPro but haven't looked. I've thought about floating a camera off the pier and let the tide carry it over the old span. I'd use on of my older cameras the first few times since I stand a pretty good chance of loosing my gear. The rubble from the concrete component are strong along both sides of the piers. You can see them on Google Earth. Might give the whole floater cam a shot in April.

@@kenbrannphotography What if you tie up a balloon rig with the camera hanging down so many feet? Might could get it close to the bottom but without snagging.

Have you ever lost a camera filming one of these videos ?
@kenbrannphotography2 жыл бұрын
Yes, 2 so far. Both times the tide was really moving and it opened the case. I haven't had a problem since I started using the PVC rig. It holds them steady in the water which so far has prevented water from flipping up the case latch. At the time I was using cheap GoPro knockoffs so I was only out $40. I started using an Akaso which is about $120 and plan on getting a GoPro this year. But I'm pretty comfortable with my process now.

@@OriginalBernieBro Sorry, that sucks. I've lost 2 cameras since 2017. Did you move it along the bottom or was it straight down and back up? I always feel I decrease my risk by just going down and back up. I also don't get too close the the pylons.

@@kenbrannphotography , just a suggestion, every minute or so move your drop line and give it a twist so the camera can get a different view , ideal would be to get a 360 view ,and maybe drop a chum bag down to attract more fishies to the party ? 🤔

He's using a GoPro. Maybe one day I'll make that plunge. Currently thinking about throwing $350 into the Gulf forever to be washed back and forth with the tide is more than I can bear. But who knows. Maybe in a few months, my mind might change. To be fair, I've only lost one camera so far. I'm feeling a little more confident I'll get back what I throw over the side.
@kenbrannphotography2 жыл бұрын
Did a little more research into underwater video quality. Video quality is highly dependent on not only the camera but the sunlight and the water quality. In May I will start posting video from the Florida Keys. You will see a huge difference in the video quality as the water is clearer. I have another friend who dives offshore. The water quality is even better where he is diving which makes the video even better. It is never ending quest to make your underwater videos as good as possible.
