Underwater Volcanoes - Oases of the Sea | Ocean Documentary
Watch 'Blue Whisper - The Fascinating World Beneath the Waves' here: • Blue Whisper - The Fas...
Countless marine animals frolic on the steep slopes of underwater volcanoes. In many cases, several are rare species not found elsewhere. This is in part due to the fact that plankton clings to the wall and provides the fish with food in abundance. This documentary shows several of these oases and also examines the impact dive tourism has and whether preventive measures can help to maintain them.
Nature and underwater filmmaker Rolf Möltgen undertakes dives into the mysterious underwater mountain landscapes with marine scientists from all corners of the globe. This journey takes us to Mexico, to snappers, white-tip reef sharks, Galapagos sharks and giant mantas. We visit the Maldives, Colombia and Costa Rica, where the team documents rare species such as deep sea burbots, small tooth sand tiger and dogfish sharks, in depths of more than 300 metres.
The eerie underwater mountain world proves: everyone plays a part in the network of life. Thanks to consistent protective regulations, it has been possible to retain the underwater diversity - especially in the unique oases of the high seas.

Underwater Volcanoes Oases of the Sea. Every species as a role to play in the net of life Marine exploitation has torn a hole in the net but some of the holes are being mended. Oceanic oasis like the ones we visit, led by Marine biologist Zapata Lopez, are leading to new discoveries and new hope to restore the delicate balance of marine life. With the help of underwater volcanoes 🌋 Scientists still have much to learn about the location and activity of underwater volcanoes. In the first two decades of this century, NOAA's Office of Ocean Exploration has funded exploration of submarine volcanoes, with the Ring of Fire missions to the Mariana Arc in the Pacific Ocean being particularly noteworthy. Using Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV), scientists studied underwater eruptions, ponds of molten sulfur, black smoker chimneys and even marine life adapted to this deep, hot environment. Our documentary joins an international team of scientists on the ship Solmar 5 among some Of the trips, to an underwater volcano off the coast of Mexico. The Marine Mountains Roca Partida is just one of 100,000 marine mountains rising from the sea bed. Many are still virtually unknown. What we do know is that these formations attract large numbers of fish. Mexican marine biologist Zapata Lopez leads the way to new discoveries and we’re along for the discoveries. Enjoy! Available worldwide except Germany Austria Switzerland (GAS)

Wow. Totally floored - I love to see shark footage like this. No need to queue up the ominous and suspenseful music or focus on bloody kills, just respect for one of the world's finest animals! Plus I learned a new shark! I know what with there being so many hundreds of species that doesn't sound like a big deal, but sharks have been my #1 favorite animal since before I was even in preschool....and I'm not young. Fascinating, as always with this channel!! Paul Bendelow is simply wonderful! Excellent tone, inflections, & descriptions are simple & diverse..would make a wonderful successor to Attenborough (Legendary of course, he's got nothing left to prove..he has enriched all our lives forever). When he gracefully steps dwn or retires, it'd be nice to see Bendelow take over th reins..always incredible cinematography with this group of filmmakers...thank you for another marvelous show!! 🌋🐟🐚🌴

When I heard Paul's voice I almost mistook this for a Sigurd film as Paul has narrated many films for him. In about three weeks, I have probably seen a large geigle of ocean dwelling movies/ documentaries. I'm running out of one's to watch on KZbin. If anybody could Point me in the direction of being able to see a plethora even if I have to pay a subscription would be most welcome. I just can't seem to get enough about Oceanic Aquatic Life as well as the surrounding areas that inhabit anything such as Islands seamounts fjords scaries and others. I do have to admit deep sea Aquatic Life is my absolute favourite. Most specifically the jellies\ cnidarians and cephalopods but I love the Sharks. Many of these creatures are absolutely adorable. Well, except maybe... Viperfish. They have a face only a mother could love ♥️♥️♥️

It's good having these resources, and should be free to watch for everyone so thank you. These are very informative and really interesting. This is one form to educate the uneducated on our planet and the creatures that inhabit it with us fellow humans. It gets people wanting to learn and educate themselves which in turn is a wonderful thing and also a way to help save our animals on our planet as using ignorance as a excuse to pretend we don't know the plight of most of our creatures on the planet are being either hunted or exploited for us humans to basically feel like we are the superior species on the planet. I really enjoy learning about nature and our fellow creatures on this planet so thank you again and keep up the good videos to educate the uneducated or just the people curious on a subject called nature 😊

We know nothing about this planet. We must be open to learn and take care of this planet above and below ground. Came here today as one of these underground volcanoes exploded today in the Pacific creating a tsunami near Tonga and a warning has been issued all the way to west coast US. We should protect this planet and all its habitats.

It’s a fifty year study that we have to monitor in person a few times a year.” It’s not very often field work is that comfortable lol and I feel like these scientists know they are a bit blessed compared to most field work.

On today's hot topic Remember when does dentist was talking about how we've been used in the wrong brush and we've been doing it for a long time even electric toothbrushes was wrong for our teeth because it wasn't cleaning it. Well does toothpaste companies like Colgate and Crest Listerine it's not very pleased because he is taking away business from their company and they decided they going to badmouth this man because he went against the grain viewers customer says it's something for you to know this dentist invented this and it's 10 times better. so why should we trust this dentist because they've been lying to us for a long time about brushing your teeth with a right to brush an electric toothbrush was better why don't you try the brand for yourself and then write your experience. Do not take Colgate Crest Listerine and what they say about this to brunch come to your own opinion and let everyone know

Yeah, beautiful. Fer sure . But since when do submerged mountains bob for the surface ? they sound closer to Hawaii than Mexico, though they did very quick shot to pinpoint. Those animals are too many, too close to the surface, too many species to be in that concentration of area, and too many would eat the other and most would be avoiding such a fictionalized place teeming to be with. And plankton coming closer to surface is great but they're upsetting food chain system and the water is green . It's not supposed to be that color.
