Rigging a senko on a drop shot will also create the shimmy you are looking for without the negative look that the lead ball adds to it. In addition, I have found with FF sonar that bass will often suspend and follow the senko down until the weight of the drop shot hits bottom and the senko slows down. They then will pause to look at the senko suspended until you give it small twitches. Then it will strike, especially when that pause gives time for other bass to show up, then it is lights out as the competition reflex kicks in.

I fish in the saltwater all the time and I think I should try wacky rigged worms for redfish and flounder. Bumping one on the bottom should be awesome for flounder, and for sighting and casting to redfish I think it could be amazing. I'd definitely put some ProCure or Dr Juice scent on for either application. That slow fall with the 1/16th weight or even an 1/8 oz should drive a flounder crazy in shallow water and 1/4 might be alright for deeper water. Flounder can be really tough to hook so you wouldn't want a bait over 6", and 4 or 5" should be perfect. I gotta try wacky rigs in the saltwater.

Steve as an old fart I remember when we had black and white lures but tackleboxes are WOKE these days. Only cream colored lures. You can't deny when it comes to any form of professional fishing sports cream colored lures are good! The warn lures with the least action stay in the top blue tray where it's easier to get out. Some say the box can be like a public school teacher, the easier ya carry it the more racket it makes. I personally do not know? I prefer to think of it as an aging beauty queen and a cow patty, the older they get the easier they both are to pick up. That's another video... You deserved a comment and a like. I have to entertain myself, fortunately for these folks I don't get out much.

Have you tried putting a 1/16 tungsten nail weight right in the center, a piece of shrink tube over that and hook through the top of the shrink tube? It skips better and less hardware for the fish to see, and cost is about the same and those weighted hooks.

When I fish a wacky rig I put a headless tungsten weight in the center of the worm. I connect my worm to the hook with a clear piece of heat shrink so my worm lasts longer. Would be curious how that would look with the weight at the bend of the hook. I’m guessing the same but doesn’t have as much of a visual deterrent as the wacky jig head.

Looks like you could start with no weight then add small split shots til you found the best rate of fall for that day, then tie on a weighted wacky hook of that size (just to save time over cutting and retrying various weighted hooks)

Hello Steve! Greetings from Brazil again! Do you know how I fish a wacky rig here? I fish it on a split shot most of the time! I think that's the way we should all fish with our own way any technique!

@calebpartenheimer76365 ай бұрын
Steve, do you know of any companies that sell worm weights that you can take off the line without having to cut the line, put a different one on and then retie? When I bass fish, I usually use more than one lure especially if trying to find bass and most of the time I just settle for a weightless soft plastic or deal with a regular round clamp weight that doesnt slide. I couldn't believe that nobody would make something like that.
@SteveRogersOutdoors5 ай бұрын
The closest I can think of are clip weights used on a Jika rig. Not a worm weight though.

stick baits with salt are just overpriced if you are adding weight. you add weight to saltless versions for durable same action at a cheaper cost. wonder about the effects of different Orings and tubes for wacky applications. and definitely need to watch the curvature of the baits almost all stickbaits are curved for action, if you rig it incorrectly the action is not there anyways. I think people miss this when rigging.
@youtubzkoz6 ай бұрын
with the zman you can rub the end to get the salt out and get better action as well. make the ends of the bait more buoyant.

Bro think first why 99% uses weightless. It's because the main reason of using wacky is that bass is so wary or clear water. Slow fall and visual bite. If using weighted wacky, that means bass are heavily feeding and aggressive. If so, why even use wacky at the first place bro
