I agree to a certain extent, yet this movie came out in 2003 right, it was three years before I was born, my parents were early in their marriage, and they went to watch it in the cinema. When they came out, they saw it was a smash hit in the box office, and people were unexpectedly pleased by it. Truth be told, this first one is REALLY good

This is geeky as hell but it's literally the concept of super saiyan 2, it's got all the power of a Lycan with the size of a Vampire, a perfect mix of power without having to sacrifice speed because you're huge.

3:14, Fun fact this big black dude in the coat is actor and screenwriter Kevin Grevioux. He and the director wrote the screenplay for this movie. Kevin has a background in microbiology and genetic engineering. It was his idea to make the vamps and lycans less supernatural and more like mutations.

The Underworld franchise is probably my favorite franchise of all time. And the budget for this movie was 22 million, but the total budget for all five is 207 million and they made all together 539 million. I can't wait to see you guys watch the rest of the franchise! Not enough people seem to know or at least talk about these movies and it's a shame.

Great reaction, guys! To answer some questions: Michael's co-worker at the hospital is Wentworth Miller. He played on Prison Break and was Leonard Snart on The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. Yes, Michael is played by Scott Speedman, who played Dr. Nick Marsh on Grey's Anatomy. Fun fact...Michael Sheen (Lucian) is the same actor that played Aro in the Twilight Saga. He's been both a werewolf and a vampire. Lycan refers to Lycanthropy, which is the name given to the disease that makes them. This movie had a production budget of $22 million.

Ive watched every single underworld movie for at least 12 times each , absolutely adore this movie and I think if they merged these vampires with the shifters of twilight, this movie wouldnt be so underrated. This movie birthed my crush for Kate so these movies will always be a guilty pleasure to watch If you google Lycanthrope , the werewolve lore would show up so its basically the same species just different names/titles

I watch this franchise every 3-6 months or so. All will be revealed about Lucian, Victor, the Vampires and the Lycans. Michael Sheen who plays Lucian is also in the Twilight franchise, the show The Prodigal Son and a whole bunch of other stuff.

If I’m not mistaken I believe the official term for werewolf is lycanthrope and the term for the illness lycanthropy which is why they’re called lycans in the series

I've watched this movie at least around 10 times. I like to revisit it due to playing an RPG called Vampire: The Masquerade. In fact, the company that produces the RPG game has sued the producers and studio of this movie, because you can really tell how much they kinda "copied" from the RPG game. But it's a great movie. Much better if you're into this kind of genre.

Well of course the Vampire's 'have more style', they aren't the ones that got driven underground and to the brink of extinction, they are the ones that had the advantage of being rich from the very start. Scott Speedman's been in a few films, the only other one I personally watched was XXX: State of the Union/TripleX 2. Viktor does that 'cha' head thing because he's trying to make sense of the jumble of memories Selene has given him - she's never done it before so she didn't give them in any order, he's figuring out who Michael is. Lycan is short for Lycanthrope, the original Greek name for werewolf. Though in Underworld, 'werewolf' seems to refer to the older generation that couldn't change form and just acted like animals.

The difference between werewolf and lycan is a werewolf can only transform on a full moon. A lycan can transform at will I love the first two and the prequel one

No man, in this franchise, the werewolves are the line of William (Marcus' twin). They can never return to human form little more than wild animals. Lycans are of the line of Lucian, he was born human to a pregnant werewolf he and anymore of his line has control over their transformations except for the beginning under the influence of the full moon.

-Yes, Robert Scott Speedman was in Grey's Anatomy. He was also in Felicity, Animal Kingdom, XXX: State of the Union, Superman Returns and a bunch of other things... -I used to own the DVD. I used to watch it all the time. At least 45 to 50 times over the years... -$22 million to make this movie. -These guys aren't werewolves, that's why they aren't called that. An easy way to remember the difference is Lycans can change at will and Werewolves can only change during a full moon. Werewolves are born from another werewolf or a Lycan biting them while Lycan's are born human and only turn into wolves. Lycans have complete control of their bodies and actions, Werewolves don't. Lycans are considered and believed to be smarter than Werewolves as well. Lycans are stronger. Lycans can be killed by force, while a werewolf is killed by silver in the heart. Lycans are Greek mythology in nature while werewolves are Old English folklore.

The last two aren't as good, IMO. But very much an underrated series overall. These movies, along with Van Helsing, are my top tier comfort faves.
