ABOUT 'Appleshine (Film Edit)'
A minimalist, hypnotic small hours glide; a techno pulse wound tightly around a daydream vocal that ultimately unfolds into an ambient coda (reminiscent of Rez) that seems to make the whole track - and the listener - levitate. It is beautifully, uniquely, undoubtedly Underworld.
Appleshine (Film Edit) features a new film by Simon Taylor, and Georgia and Lewis from Black Country, New Road on violin and flute respectively. The intro of the track was originally published online when Underworld headlined the BBC Biggest Weekend in Belfast last year - this is the first time the full track has been made available.

Ohhh my God ...I never think that Underworld are prepared to bring me the feelings that I've felt 20 years ago when I listen her music by the very first time.But I'm mistaken.From "Barbara Barbara" they are producing anthems probably at the highest level in our career.This collision between the deepest & hardest techno bases with this embracing chill-out atmosphere makes me feel that I'm literally flying !!!

From Doot Doot' of Freur on a 12'' maxi single to Appleshine, the opening track of the Drift CD my daughter bought me just before the concert in the Wembley Arena last December. Underworld needs to come to detroit. Sick of traveling to California, New York, and Miami... when they actually come here. I don’t think they comprehend how vast the USA is or how expensive it is to travel to/stay on the coasts for their VERY limited USA shows.

Its because they would have a very small crowd if they booked in Detroit... there were less than 60 people at the GusGus show, i see why a lot of bands ignore Detroit these days. Unless you want to see some shitty DJ play records, then youll have that crowd lined up for that down in Ferndale, Detroit or whatever.

GusGus would be a bad example to go by. Underworld are techno gods and pioneers of style...something detroit loves.. GusGus are an ok band that had some ok songs, disappeared for awhile, then came back, then disappeared again, then came back.. etc.. also always been more appreciated in the UK.
