God I love Underworld's minimalistic techno bangers. There's always so much subtlety and intricacy to the production.

Yes…whoever says texhno is boring has never listened to the intricacy of underworld. Someone played me indigenous techno recently and while I understand these beats have deeply tribal roots, GOOD techno layers in syncopation, hemiola, classically influenced melodies. If anyone has seen the vid of the Aussie piano player (trans) who brought on a pair of aboriginal musicians as featured soloists. Imagine it is the crescendo of a beautiful piano piece…it’s lilting and uplifting…and then the pianist hands it off to a 100-year-old elder moaning into the mic, occasionally clearing up thick mucus, accompanied by…you guessed it-a didgeridoo. You cannot listen to that and keep a straight face I don’t know how the pianist did either

@@silentb2084If you haven't already heard his stuff, I'd highly recommend the techno/tech house music of Vince Watson (who also occasionally goes by the name of Nico Awtsventin), he's got an impeccable ear for melody - especially melodic counterpoint and harmonising layered melodies - and there's a deep undercurrent of emotion imbuing almost every one of his tracks. He's very reminiscent of Underworld in many respects. Check 'im out! 😁 You could also try Funk D'Void, Oliver Ho, Inigo Kennedy, Moshic, Kai Randy Michel, Heiko Laux, YMC, Jerome, Fluke, Noah Pred, Quivver, Juno Reactor, User (aka Dean Cole), Christian Morgenstern, Pascal F.E.O.S., Ken Ishii, The Bionaut, Unit Moebius, Move D or Jel Ford... could also check out the sonically diverse artists of the "Underground Resistance" techno stable/record label. ..Or if you're in the mood for some harder techno that's groovy as hell, try Ignition Technician, Mark Williams, Boriqua Tribez, WJH/W. Jörg Henze, Rino Cerrone, D.A.V.E. the Drummer, Mhonolink, Gaetano Parisio, Veztax, Pounding Grooves, Killian's, Spiros Kaloumenos, Danilo Vigorito, Ortin Cam, Jel Ford, Elton D, Richard Bartz, Markantonio, Virgil Enzinger or A.Paul... enjoy your musical journey 😁

This was played live a few times in 2002 to 2003. it most notably turns up briefly in their 2003 peel session as part of a jam involving spoonman and tokyolondon (a rick smith solo track)

It’s like a Drift song from the past and the hidden gem of Underworld. This song live would be amazing for opening a set list.

That drift album was so good. Even when theyre just messing around in the studio, these guys are brilliant
@zonesquestiloveunderworld Жыл бұрын
@@gregfaber3417 Yeah man I was absolutely blown away by the Drift series. These guys just get better and better, they're totally fearless when it comes to trying new sounds and incorporating new influences. One of the very, very few of the "big" electronica acts of the early 90s that continue to evolve and iterate. Rick Smith and Karl Hyde - name a more iconic duo! xD

I'm streaming this from my phone to my TV, and accidentally started it on my laptop as well, out of sync - and it's ghost-mixing beautifully with itself.

I can feel kind of ''kittens¨ vibes in this song. I've just discovered it... It could be one of my favorite undeworld´s songs. Thanks for the upload.

They've used the opening sample a bit in various live shows. I'm pretty sure I've heard it fade into Mo Move during the TMO era.

It'd be cool to have an Underworld instrumental album
@zonesquestiloveunderworld Жыл бұрын
Man, you should seriously check out their "Manchester Street Poem" album then! I thought it was just going to be ambient background music for an art installation, but it's some of the greatest music they've ever made (and considering how much bloody great music they've made over the years, that's really saying something! xD), and it's almost entirely instrumental apart from field recordings of random people talking in the street. Seriously worth a listen for any Underworld fan or lover of unique, progressive electronic music! Their soundtrack for the film "Breaking and Entering" (collaborating with Gabriel Yared) is also entirely instrumental, and it's bloody brilliant too!
