It is but what Rummy didn't mention is that Tyson was fortunate enough to be around just when HBO were organising a tournament to crown an undisputed champion so Tyson had it all set up for him, didn't have the trouble of getting the guys in the ring to fight him (Apart from Spinks who eventually did fight him) What Tyson did is obviously impressive, it's just a shame more fighters haven't had that kind of tournament style format to become undisputed.

Wladimir in my opinion was the undisputed heavyweight champion for a short stretch when Vitali vacated the WBC belt. He was the lineal champion, The Ring Magazine champion and had 3 out of 4 alphabet belts. As the WBC belt was vacant, there was no one who could dispute his claim as a heavyweight world champion, hence he was undisputed.

This time I’m 99% sure we’re gonna see it happen in 2024 and finally have another undisputed heavyweight champion. However you just can’t ever tell what will happen whenever fury is involved with anything ever! It really sours the excitement and build up sometimes and adds an unnecessary level of uncertainty. This time it seems locked in though. Let’s all hope it happens and see who the true king of the ring is! Keep up the great work Rummy!
@fredneuwirth6324
@fredneuwirth6324 6 ай бұрын
My guess is it won't happen. Fury just got a hiding from a "novice" and amateur to boxing (not fighting) and was dropped by Ngannou. He cannot afford to get another hiding from a "little rabbit, gap-toothed midget middleweight" Usyk. I fear that Fury will come up with any excuse to avoid that fight like training injury, illegal substance taking which he could blame on the Saudies food supply, or retiring "undefeated" like Marciano. The difference being that Marciano fought a number of opponents in the rankings, not a Gypsy woodoo befuddled Klitschko and an as quoted "no good boxer with only one punch" Wilder, who dropped him often enough duringbtheir 3 fights. And now he just had a hiding from a first time in the boxing ring Ngannou and got dropped as well. My guess is he will stay away from Usyk as far as possible.

Fury is a disgraceful heavyweight 'champ'. Been dropped so many times by Wilder (who cant box) had to have a points decision against an old Klitschko who was gun shy because of his trainer and mentor Steward dying. Suspiciously he failed a drugs test and then became extremely obese after. He loves to fight people like Chisora but never made it happen big fights happen like Joshua at his peak undisputed YEARS AGO. He could of become undisputed 7-8 years ago.

9:02 CORRECTION... Usyk didn't "bottle it" that was all Fury. Before Usyk beat AJ Fury wasn't interested, after he beat AJ Frank Warren said verbatim "easy fight to make" & "50/50 split" then came Furys lowballs & moving of goalposts as Usyk accepted his insulting lowball- Usyk may have walked away in the end but he should've done so the moment he was insulted with 70/30, the final straw was 50/50 rematch if he beat Fury. Not sure AJ bottled it either, Fury messed them around in-between Wilder 2 & 3 acting like there was no way there was going to be a 3rd fight + the fight offer with unreasonable deadlines after that. Fury is a conman & it's disappointing some people can't see that or are on the fence about it.
@anthonyanderson9303
@anthonyanderson9303 6 ай бұрын
The only thing I'll say in defense of Fury is he didn't know Wilder was going to file that injunction with the courts to have the 3rd fight. I think they should have paid Wilder step aside money to allow the undisputed fight to happen, then the winner could have then fought Wilder, but I think the problem was the WBO was also enforcing Usyk's mandatory shot at the same time if I recall correctly.

If Usyk fought the Fury - who was in the ring in Wilders SECOND attempt at Tyson - then I say Fury win's 70% of the time (KO). But POST Wilder / Fury 2 - I said that Usyk has 70% (distance) vs Fury 30% (KO). Post Wilder / Fury 3 - and seeing the amount of COKE Fury had been bagging, consistently, and knowing a few bouncers I know here who KNOW the Furys and the stories I've heard, I knew then that Usyk wins 99.9% of the time. From 2 years ago. It's the same now. If they fight before the end of 2024, Usyk wins, 99.9% of the time. Simple as.

@@Fritz973 Yea they were negotiations on like 3 seperate occasions. You mentioned before the McCall fight. I believe they were negotiations right before Bowe fought Golota. Had he won that fight, I think Lewis-Bowe would have been next in 1997. For the record, I've always felt had they fought in that '92-'93 time period, before Lewis got with Manny, Bowe would have won. However, had they fought from '95 and on, I think Lewis wins as he was in much better condition and was a more defensively responsible fighter by then.

Ali still greater than all these heavyweights but that’s just my opinion.

9 Champs in 54 years is 1 champ every 6 years I don't see anything wrong with that I would see a bigger problem with 1 champ every 3 years forsure. It takes time and essence of mind body and soul to become a true champion why discourage the important dedication it takes toget there.

There hasn't been an undisputed heavyweight championship fight since 1999. 0 in the 21st century.

Rummy can you make a video about alphabet politics like concretizing how they work and why and how they prevent certain fights from happening. You mention this a lot but never explained how it works😢

Please, create the video-analysis of Holyfield's headbutts in fights vs Tyson, especially in 1997 and tell about reasons for Tyson beat Holyfield's ears.

Depressing. I love boxing but boxing doesn't like me, or most other fans. I have said it before, and I will say it again: boxing needs independent regulation. Rummy nailed it by calling the sport corrupt. It's a damn shame.

Because of the IBF, the winner of Fury-Usyk will only be undisputed for one fight. Hopefully, Hrgovic is willing to wait his turn and step aside so he can get a shot at all four belts.

IBF is pretty adamant when it comes to enforcing their mandatories, unless your name is Errol Spence.

Just goes to show how boxing has turned out because of corruption, and so many others in the past trying to make money off of fighters. Inventing new belts throughout history has become acceptable today, it's crazy when you look at the records of fighters who has claimed undisputed titles and moved up weight classes and claimed them again, it goes to show you how hard it is.
