I felt so depressed during that whole year that I stopped playing until I saw Boyka fight, this whole movie is an inspiration and it motivates me even today now that I want to achieve my best version possible.

I posted above that when I saw this movie I knew that was what was happening and I knew that he would reward Boyka at the end. He was secretly betraying the other evil rich gamblers and he showed body language and facial expressions of major disappointment after Boyka won even though he was happy internally so that nobody would think he betrayed them on purpose.

im surprised nobody mentioned it, but the colombian did wing chun. and mixed with some form of high kicks, prob tae kwon do. he was even training with a wooden dummy like in ip man movies. glad to see someone do wing chun their way, outside of donnie yen. this colombian is the ideal performance of what a cocky wing chun person wud fight like, fast punches, with power, blocking and punching same time, if u watch in freeze frame u can see it being applied, thats how it looks like he punched boyka in the face 8 times in 1 second. it wud be nice to see this colombian fight a pure speed boxer, and see if he can still apply his wing chun against an american boxer rather than an "mma" fighter. most pure boxers wud be very smooth in their dodges, etc. also read other comments that the colombian is in john wick 4, will have to see it!

Nah barely any of this wood work in the UFC for starters the intensity is far lower in the UFC and let's face it if boyka fought any modern UFC fighter he'd get killed Alex Peoria only needs to land one shot and it's over 😭 even with boyka plot armour. But I love his character tho he never gives up and is an incredible kick boxer a shame that most of his kicks won't work in the UFC as it consumed so much energy and isn't hard to evade simple leg kicks and high kicks are more effective in a fight more quicker easier to land

also i'd like to add - for all the people saying wing chun doesnt work in the ring... well this colombian uses wing chun in his fight. he just makes it work, maybe cus he's tall as hell and his reach is easy? regardless he makes it work. yes its a movie, but it doesnt mean that the application wont work if someone rises to this level of skill. just pointing it out for those who are awed by his performance, yet still talk trash about wing chun. u can very clearly see how in a lot of his positions he finds ways to attack before boyka gets a chance to step back, once the colombian gap closes, he hits boyka 2-3 times, and effectively.

Wing Chun can and does work if you use it right. Punches have a fairly predictable pattern and if you block in the right way it opens you up for short quick strikes.
