I see all these comments about what the clippers are doing, why they let pg go, etc etc. Why is so difficult to understand that the clippers have been forced to go in soft rebuild mode, they realized (too late) that this roster is too old and not constructed to win and so they are restructuring it giving (hopefully) more space to youngsters (bones, kpj). Keeping russ would prevent to really test if these youngsters can be valid asset for the future (given the lack of draft picks). Who knows when they will be contenders again, perhaps a long process, but they needed to change something now after going all in with pg kawhi and harden. What they tried simply didnt work and they need to restart.

I didn't, and still don't, see the point of signing Kawhi to an extension if they didn't confirm if PG was going to stay or not. If either one of them planned on walking away then the Clippers should've let everybody walk away, and then start a rebuild. The only logical reason I can think of is the fact they still don't have their own draft picks. Which just is another example of how Kawhi has massively screwed over the Clippers, forcing them to trade for PG by any means necessary which resulted in them having no 1st rounders to this day.
