In this video we talk about the Paul George's newest contract with the Philadelphia 76ers and what is means for himself and the Los Angeles Clippers. Can the Clippers make the playoffs with Paul George being replaced by Derrick Jones Jr? Will James Harden be able to hold it down for Clippers when Kawhi eventually misses games throughout the season?

finally, people are hung up on what pg "deserves" instead of looking at this situation for what was being said with the offers by the clippers, plus pg just left a bad situation for an actual contendor. glad someone with some sense made a video cus its not even glaze on pg, its just like you said, im a human, not an asset

PG was not the third option this season. :D He was the second option clearly. James Harden was not nearly as important to Clippers. But yes, I don't disagree with you.

third option on offense because Harden was their to run the offense while Kawhi is the main scoring option. I'll say he was clearly the second best player because its two sides of the ball but a third option.

Great content👌🏽 I am going to preface this with I am a huge Paul George fan. I love his game, I love his style. I think he’s a great human being. I am also a huge Clipper fan. With this being said, the facts are the facts: PG came up so soft in this playoffs. Averaged 19 points in the playoffs and that is inflated because of one 33 point game. He had the Golden opportunity to prove his worth and the critics this playoffs when it counts, which I, and Clipper nation really wanted to see. I even texted him on his podcast, encouraging him to keep the motivation and carry the team on his back. But he did not. In fact, he has not played well in the playoffs for the Clippers because of injury or other reasons since he’s become a Clipper, only 2021 being the outlier as he did play really well for the Clippers reaching the conference finals. Other than that, he has not done anything for the Clippers when it counted. And I believe the Clipper organization was watching this playoff to see if he was worth it. What he did do, was Podcast the whole time which really upset the whole Clipper fan base, me being one of them. Now I know he’s able to do whatever he wants to do because it’s own life, however, as a basketball fan and seeing how the Clipper organization gave up their entire future and a future league MVP to acquire him, seemed like he was more interested in his image than focusing on winning during the most important playoffs for the Clippers in its history. What I also realized is that Paul George does not like the Presure and that’s the difference between a really good player like Paul George, and an Outstanding/transcendent player like , LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Steph Curry Kobe Bryant, MJ etc who want the pressure and excel in the pressure. PG does not. The organization made it clear that they offered Paul the same as Kawhi but the reason why they didn’t offer them the max and the no trade cause is because they wanted the team to get better around him. And this is so true. They were not good enough to win as currently constructed so if they gave him the max, they couldn’t get any better and the organization has to get better And would be over the second apron, which is detrimental to their future pics and flexibility to construct a better team. That’s very reasonable Considering Paul has not proven his worth in the playoffs when it truly counts in the last 3 playoffs and is getting older/Injury prone. If Paul played to his highest capability in the playoffs and excelled in the playoffs, like some players do as oppose to play worse, he wouldn’t have to worry about getting traded. But the problem is he does not, and he has to worry about getting traded because he typically annd unfortunately underperforms in the playoffs. Having made over $300 million in his career just in contract salary alone, not including endorsements, I felt like he could have taken the decent offer from the Clippers, definitely not the best but $50 Mil a year and allow the clippers to get better around him because they gave up so much to get him and he really didn’t do much for them at all other than a 2021 conference finals berth. Instead, he chose to take the money saying he’s gotta do what’s best for his family. I love hearing that from athletes that make hundreds of millions of dollars like another 30 or $50 million is going to make a difference. They are already extremely rich and having incredible generational wealth that will last generations regardless. In short, as a Paul George fan I felt like he did the clippers wrong. He could have sacrificed a little bit, just like Jalen Brunson just did in NY, to allow the organization and the team to get better around him and help grow the brand instead of Chasing the money and leaving a difficult situation which he could help fix with Kawai, James and Russ and the “213 Era” what was started when we gave up everything for him. Keep up the great work:)

@@aaronnapier1655 thank you so much! i understand where your coming from as a Clippers fan though. but you cant compare Brunson who has gotten a max deal from the Knicks already when he wasnt at the point where he necessarily "deserved it" and his biological dad is their assistant head coach while they have catered their team to him so much with getting all his college teammates to where he had the ultimate confidence that he will retire there while PG13 who wanted something a little bit similar with a NTC wasnt given that.

The mavs series and his performance in it is overblown. Ignoring a lot of the actual basketball side of it, You don’t judge a player on 6 games in any way. Using a single playoff series is not a good way to evaluate how good a player is and how valuable they are to a team. Pg was brought in as a 2nd option and as he ages was naturally going to get worse. He’s not equipped to be a number 1 option on a contending team in the playoffs anymore and that’s fine lol he’s 34 he’s not 29 anymore, especially not against imo the 2nd best defense the playoffs had. He’s still an all star level player just not in the upper tier anymore more which is perfectly fine. Y’all’s expectations were too high for him and I think that’s where a lot of the hate and disappointment comes from. Watching what he did in the 2021 playoffs as the number 1 option and that being the last time we saw him in playoffs before 2024 definitely clouded our judgement. And I would know because as a fan I also thought he could tap into that again. But I’ve now come to terms with who he is as a player. And also you can’t just brush off 2021, he was the catalyst to leading your team to their most successful season in their 50+ years. That is a huge accomplishment.

@@kingserafoi8355 terrible argument by you because if you look at the Clippers salary from 21-24 Paul George had the same deal as Kawhi Leonard with the 3/174M contract and he gave them more value on that contract due to Kawhi's health issues... he was giving the Clips a discount by being humble and taking what Kawhi who felt the need to sign his deal early on with a bit of a discount. Also im pretty sure he didnt just walk into the office with slides on and say "gimme what kawhi got" he was just podcasting and summing it up. He actually had one of the smartest negotiations of all time by asking for the NTC after they said they want him to retire their because he was so bought in on staying with the Clippers forever and clearly wanted to be there more than they wanted him.
