Took over for a team that had an a top 5 rb, top 5 left tackle, top 5 te, and top 5 defense. The team was expected to be in this position with or without him. After watching the replay, I was able to see that the ball may not have been over thrown had the defender not held Aiyuk for those few precious milliseconds, and instead of the defender being there getting the ball bounced off his head, it would’ve been Aiyuk having a chance to make that catch cleanly, no bounce. It was only “over thrown” because the defender held him for that split second and slowed him down. Nice try though.

The flow of this game is reminiscent of Super Bowl LI. When it was time to run the ball Dan Quinn decided to call of passing play on 2 straight downs ended with a sack and out of field goal range. The Lions decided to abandon the run game in the second half and when it was time to kick 2 field goals, they go for it on 4 down. Both quarterbacks played great. In my opinion, the onus is on the Dan Cambell. Dan Quinn was overly aggressive, and it cost them the Super Bowl. Likewise, the Dan Campbell was overly aggressive, and it cost the Detroit Lions a chance to go to their first Super Bowl. Seasoned coaches know how to make second half adjustments.
