Stop it Chris...his triple doubles are absolutely stat padded and hurts the team...we need to stop correlating his triple dubs with their wins...it makes no sense...almost everyone shot 60% or higher in game 5 but Westbrook still wanted to jack up 31 shots...dude will never win playing for stats!

Averaging a triple double combined with a poor field goal percentage compacted with a high field goal attempt rate compounded by the fact that he takes the most dribbles and passes the least often is the main factor in the THUNDERS early exits....Not to mention his high assist rates is always canceled out by his HIGH turnover ratio! It's not stat-padding. It requires you to make good plays to get those numbers. And A LOT of energy. Rebounding and positioning at 6'2"- 6'3"? That's crazy. Try to play as an all-around player on the court and tell me how your body would feel afterward. Westbrook has an incredible motor and his energy level is at 100mph. It is not easy at all to even get one triple-double in your career. I don't think any NBA player would put stats over a championship ring.

No, they are saying he should realize that winning is the priority and that he needs to care enough about winning to make adjustments. Its not about your wife, your kids, and personal life but about making adjustments to your game to win for yourself, your teammates who depend on you, and for your organization who pays you millions of dollars to help them win. So you may be happy with your personal life but that is irrelevant to why you were hired to play the game and you need to focus on the fact that you are not winning, figure out why not, and change. Saying you are happy with your personal life has NOTHING to do with the goals of the organization. Drop the selfishness.
@LostBoysBasketball
@LostBoysBasketball 5 жыл бұрын
soulsearch1234 has nothing to do with selfishness and EVERYTHING to do with understand what’s important. The THUNDER lost, not the media. Not the fans, either. So it really doesn’t matter what they think. Y’all want these athletes to grimace so bad because YALL do. These guys know what’s at stake when you’re competing. Somebody wins, somebody loses. But he said all that to say “regardless of what narrative you guys wanna stick on me, I’m still competing. And I’m still great.”
@willfoncham2084
@willfoncham2084 5 жыл бұрын
@@LostBoysBasketball you completely missed what soulsearch1234 said. Russ going to his family and himself is irrelevant and will not hold himself accountable for his team. He clearly cares about himself and his stats more than his team and the fact that he has no humility is where the core problem is. If he doesnt have that, it's frustrating. Because we as fans know, his humility would actually be his key to success, not this stupid "I'm going to be me" talk. He doesn't like criticism and will retire Allen Iverson 2. A great PG that never realized, his own greatness and pride is actually blocking him from a title. If triple doubles, and selfish attitude means more than your team and winning, then I guess we're done talking.

vandermixon ok. So you are clearly saying stats are a reflection of effort. So, can you then explain to me how he plays so HARD with everything else when his defensive numbers are terrible? He is not a good defensive player. Those who defend him in the media have even stated that he has the ability the be a great defensive player( he was a defensive STAR coming into the league) but he doesn’t do it. That directly implies a lack of effort on the defensive end. How can he play hard if he doesn’t give it his all on the defensive side?!? Like seriously. Can you explain that!? And I don’t want to hear the stats don’t tell the whole story from you because you clearly think that his counting numbers are what you go off. Also, if he knows his shooting isn’t good, like if he is truly aware that he is the worst volume shooter in NbA history, why does he continue to finish at the top of the league, or top 5, in shots per game? Lol like what? It’s just not logical. I have nothing against him. I also saw something in Houston that was great! But when you made this comment, can you defend your points?
