@Tater Puddin role players cant be motivated in playing on defense all the time and not touching the ball come one give em the ball to catch and shoot few times
@haofu1735 жыл бұрын
@Tater Puddin I watch games. Do you? I saw Paul George over the course of the season hit beautiful dagger 3's to ice games off the dribble. He can't create with the ball in his hand? I saw Dennis Schroder, one of the best backup point guards in the league who can start for half the teams in the league, hit Westbrook-esque midrange pullups. He can't create off the dribble? Who on the Trailblazers can create with the ball in their hand by your standards? Only Lillard and CJ, right? Does that mean Lillard has to get triple doubles just for his team to win? No, because you can move the ball without racking up assists (have you heard of hockey assists?), and create space for teammates' offense with your off-ball movement (if you're a three point shooting threat like Dame). I agree with you that Westbrook "is extremely dynamic, he isn't the best at anything but he excels in most areas." But even if Westbrook is the best rebounding guard in the history of the league, is that what teams want from their point guard as opposed to better shooting and decision-making? Fat Lever averaged 9.3 rebounds in 1988. Steve Nash never averaged more than 4.2. What team would take Fat Lever over Steve Nash, the daddy of 50-40-90%?
@arionstarks46405 жыл бұрын
Timothy Hudson Those triple doubles are extremely valuable to OKC though. They win over 82% of the time he Russ gets one. Even in this series, he got a td in game 1 and it came down to wire. He got another in game 4 and it took a 15 point collapse by OKC and an unbelievable shot to beat them.

I think this is Westbrooks's most humbling year, after being voted "most overrated" by his peers and getting outplayed by Dame, he needs to go back home and work on his weaknesses. It's not about playing at 100 miles per hour and having A+ effort anymore, it's about playing smart, minimizing mistakes and ( this is the number one problem) being an efficient shooter in today's NBA. Once he fixes some of these problems, i see no reason why he can't reach the WCF with the talent that is in OKC

Paul Frantizek you just completely took what people were saying about his individual effort and made that into a team metric. If his entire team played like him they win for a decade straight. Russel Westbrook still puts up the stats when he basically needs help or some new players to actually win. There's so many dumb, mindless haters in the comments, but really Westbrook deserves more respect. He definitely *has* more respect than KD who left his team, to join the team he almost beat, and then leisurely win some unrespectful and unwarranted rings. Even if KD goes off any wins 3 or 4 rings with golden state, KD can *never* say he was better than Curry/Thompson, DWade, LeBron, and all the other greats who defeated him and knocked him out of the post season or the finals. He no longer has that respect, or that gratitude to talk, period. I have mad respect for Westbrook for staying on the Thunder, even after KD left after 'choking' big time a 3-1 lead to beat GSW and then simply goes off to join GSW. I don't care if KD can score 50, or 60 pts: if it's against the warriors, he would be getting full respect and recognition, but it's simply on a stacked team that was "already" beating his team before he even joined it.. he doesn't even have to score 50 pts or average high stats to win a championship while he's on the warriors. Westbrook is getting hate for "not winning" but he's clearly an elite player and he's sticking with his team, playing, and competing, that's something KD failed to do and which he has lost all respect over. He's no longer in the arena of saying he can be "better than Lebron" or any of those players in his class. He failed, and instead of adapt and overcome like the others, he just joined the team that just went unopposed and beat NBA records. Westbrook on the other hand puts up numbers, good stats, competes without a large amount of help, and still can't always win. KD joining GSW is a big a mistake for his reputation and it will always go down in history and discussion that "KD won a few rings but he didn't really work hard for them".
