maybe i am easily impressed, dont know, but this guy alone sounds like a whole band, doesnt make a mistake, he is clearly having a good time, clearly not even trying hard and has a great voice.... how is he not famous? he literally cleans the floor with most famous artists out there today

The thing I really admire is his ability to distill different versions down to a basic melody, really keep the driving dance feel behind it, and make it totally unique at the same time. That’s a hard thing to do.

Idk how the algorithm hasn't showed me your channel yet until today. I love your work and I thank you for sharing it. I need to do more of that. I tend to prefer my recordings in which I play every instrument with it one by one so it sounds like a band, but it is a lot to work and you are proof that if played correctly only 1 man is needed for it to sound full. 🤟🏻✌🏻 PS: Grow your mustache back 😂

I was gonna ask for tuning and chords, but I read that you're gonna make a tutorial. I would appreciate that a lot. Funny enough, prior to seeing this I was talking with my Grandma about old timey artists because she knows I like Stan Rogers, I asked her if she likes any blue grass as a joke cause we're Canadian and that's not really the type of music she would've listened to where she grew up, but she said she really only knew Ola Belle Reed and didn't have too much of a taste for her music. I did not know of Ola Belle Reed when she said that and I didn't look for her music at all, instead I found this cover on your channel accidentally while listening to your cover of Trifling Woman. Anyways I believe your rendition of this song is very good and that I should learn it because my Grandma would probably like to see me sing this. Pardon me if this was a tough read, the fumes at welding school are getting to my head. Thank you.

That is hard - I haven’t had that experience that the subject of the song had directly thank God just in a smaller degree - we sacrifice to provide or get ahead. Our attention is diverted meanwhile others age, lose their health, or they may even die unexpectedly and we regret not being there even if we were doing what we needed to do. Also, this is a beautiful location where were you at ?

after watching your videos i'm considering getting one of these banjos and learning to play. i'm looking at the site right now, and i see there are cherry, black walnut, and curly maple variants. which one do you use? and is this banjo fine for beginners?
@knoxmassey6822
@knoxmassey6822 Жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for the comment. I’d refer you to my video on what do do before starting banjo as I cover a few different topics there. I’ll say its harder to learn fretless from the beginning, especially with the proper chord shapes. I would recommend getting a banjo with frets first. Don Gardner is open to special requests, and you MIGHT be able to request frets on this specific model of banjo. Just reach out to him and see what he says.

And I use the curly maple one. As far as the sound of the banjo, its wonderful in person.
