Very interesting thing I came to know about Pandit Narayan bhatt.Infact in maharashtra few people knows about Pandit Gagabhatta who was invited from kashi for coronation of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj. 1. Taking over a Church and converting into a Mosque or vice versa has been a normal practice in Eurasia region. So in India, converting a Mandir into a Mosque should not be a surprise. We have to factually prove, through historical and archeological evidences, such forceful occupation and conversion and claim back original temple sites through Courts. However, we should not overdo this and limit it to some prominent sites and forget the rest. We must move on thereafter in nation building. 2. Lord shiva takes many forms everywhere hes worshipped.. Kashi houses Vishwanatha - meaning lord of the universe. His form as vishwanatha transends time and boundries, everyone flocked to Kashi for its knowledge base, cultural dynamism. As Vikram says people believed Kashi was the place for sadhanas to prepare oneself to leave the mortal world to merge with the divine.
