Completely agree with you about not being quick to assume someone is being negative or trashing something, just because they're pointing it out. I own two uc palettes, a highlight & a lipgloss. I adore the matte formula so much. The shimmer formula in my experience is not the best for my personal preference. I find it to have too much binder. That is what causes that immediate hardpan. The same thing happens with oe shimmers a lot. If I had to guess, they probably use the same manufacturer, because both have incredibly pigmented & easy to use mattes, but shimmers that tend to hardpan almost immediately. Like you said about tm the cosmos, that's my personal fav type of shimmer formula, so of course I'm not going to enjoy shimmers that are the opposite! 😅🫶

YESS well said. It’s all so subjective - even just a few years ago I would have found the formula of The Cosmos to be unusable. In that short time, my preferences and techniques have changed so much, that I can’t get enough of that chunky sparkly goodness lol.

I despise hard pan. I use my fingers to apply shadows so this will be a pass for me. Thanks for the video!

I haven't experienced any hard panning at all and I never use brushes for putting on shimmers bc i get more pay off that way and haven't had any issues whatsoever. The batches have to be inconsistent if some are getting great shadows and others not as great as they should be 🤔 also i noticed that there are no reviews on their website. I was trying to see what people thought of some of their products before purchasing. Hopefully I somehow missed it though.

I have 3 Unearthly palettes, Fall Magic, Warms my blood and the All I ever wanted 2. They are beautiful, however there's always been something not going how it should have with all three. The fall magic wasn't magnetic, though I expected it to be, so I had to magnetize it myself in order to change the shades. The warms my blood arrived with an unusable shadow, hard as a rock, and the other shimmers having leaked ruining the entire packaging, an oily mess... Still I had to dry them with tissue paper cause they would crease in 5 minutes. In the AIEW2 one shade turned hard and unusable in a couple of months and another two are on the same path. Living in EU Unearthly is expensive to get, even through Monolith, so I think I won't purchase from them very soon, at least not until they figure out their formula issues 😅

This is interesting. I've had such mixed experiences with unearthly. I've been a fan for awhile and absolutely loved their earlier palettes like the Capricorn matte palette, the all I ever wanted, and the lore palette. Then they reformulated a lot of their shadows and I feel like every palette is different. The shimmers in the Halloween collection from last year were great except that each palette had one that would dry out that you needed to get a replacement for, but those shimmers were totally different from the ones in the sleepover palette which were dif from the ones in the strawberry milkshake. They also reformulated a lot of the same palettes they come out with like the bunnies palette (I have the old version) and this one. The mattes in the bunnies palette were also completely different from the ones in the Capricorn palette. I generally like their products but really never know what kinda formula ur getting.

I feel the same as you about glitter primers. You might like the pat McGrath intensifeyes wand. It’s the only one I’ll use

Thank you for showing how shimmers look more diffused and close ups of hardpan. I don't use my fingers to apply shadows (giant fingers, tiny eyelids... gods have forsaken me) but I looove swatching shadows. Good points about not assuming people are lying: some of my favourite palettes and shadows piss me off in one way or other but I still love them.

ok, you have to try the ulta brand matte primer. i’ve tried soooo many and that’s been my HG since i discovered it years ago. i loveeee unearthly, and i’m so glad that i watched this review because i also use my fingers for shimmers, and this one seems to be COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than the first version of this palette that i have and adore so much. thank you for saving me money, and i can just put that towards heather’s collab. 🥰🥰🥰

Ill say that i didnt experience hard panning but i also dont swatch my palettes or use my fingers. I hate getting my hands dirty lmao. Thanks for not just bashing it because otherwise its a great palette. IMO. 😊❤

Right ❤🎉❤🎉😂 there was another video they said use brush on the sparkle ❇ 🎉shadows No finger lol 😊 I know on a video live I asked the owner she did say CLEAN DRY finger if I use it I just will have to see...also when a matte hard pans is there a way to improve it? Using scotch tape place it over rub slight to pick up the old top coat? Not sure but please advise thanks!! Love your videos Blessings ❤😊🤗

Hey Michelle!! 🤗 I’m planning to use scotch tape to take off the top layer and then only use a brush with the shimmers! that method usually works for me with both mattes and shimmers

I agree with both of you. I use my fingers though and never have hard pan with the brands eyeshadow palettes.....we are all just different like I said in my original comment and that's cool.

This is the review I was waiting for! I was on the fence about this palette because it is pricey and the only shades I was interested in were the multichromes. The comparisons showed me I already own similar singles and I definitely don’t need this! Thanks

the original DBJ palette was amazing, 9 duo and multichrome shadows that are pretty easy to pick up on finger or brush. I love the color story of this remastered version but I may just make one myself from TM and Clionadh singles and some mattes

I love Unearthly Cosmetics! I know we are all different and thats what makes makeup fun! I use my fingers with most shimmers unless I need to spray my brush with flakier formulas. I love your videos because they are so detailed and thorough. Thank you.

Beautiful looks! Just used you code for the clionadh - now I’m looking at this 😅Have you tried running tape across the hard pans - it might be a quick fix to the issue. I actually prefer traveling with my hard panned shadow’s because they seem to get less damage during the hustle. I normally bring tape with me anyways as my first step to eye makeup removal, so I use it also to get rid of the top layer of oil on the shadows that typically cause hard pan🤷‍♀️

Really helpful review! I have two Unearthly palettes: Lore and Fall Magic. I love the shimmers in both of them, but the mattes in Lore are only okay (a bit hard pressed imo) and the mattes in FM are honestly...not good. Either no pigment or so powdery that they kind of blend away (for reference, Odens Eye has my favorite matte formula--it's powdery too but way more pigmented and blendable). But this palette looks like it has a different shimmer formula, because I use my fingers to apply those shimmers with no issues and haven't gotten hard pan. Maybe they've been trying different shimmer and matte formulations? Either way, I want to give the brand another shot but they seem to be hit and miss so I'm gonna hold off for now. I agree 100% with what you said about not judging people for liking something other people don't...we all have different preferences 😊

I personally don’t like Unearthly mattes. My favorite matte eyeshadows are ABH, which are lighter pressed and way easier to blend. I only have two palettes from them (that I tore apart to make them singles), Not Normal and Lore (original version). The shimmers are nice for sure, but they do hard pan if you use your fingers. Shipping was fine, my products arrived well packed and on time. I’m not particularly interested in Unearthly anymore, based off of my experiences with their mattes, and the fact that they are reformulating a lot. I’m not a fan of surprises when it comes to formulas, I like to know what I’m paying for! With Unearthly, you just never know. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you, this was really helpful, I had my eye on this palette for so long just waiting till it gets to Monolith, but I've heard more people talking about the hard panning and as much as I love the colourstory and the beautiful multichrome Hydrospace, I feel like the rest of the shimmers are not as I expected, so I'm glad I waited and I think I will rather get Heather's palette now instead since I can't afford both . This must be really frustrating though for Amanda, since she had lot of formula issues lately with many of her palettes, hope they will figure it out for future

So it seems UC has an issue with their shimmers hard panning which sucks because the colour stories they have are beautiful. I have All I ever wanted vol. 2 and there’s a shade with so much hard pan it’s unusable 😢
