So far surprisingly it has worked great with no bad seals after a couple hundred bags. Just replace the cheap oil with non misting oil. There's a update about the smell we would get with a big batch run and the original vac oil. Inflation has pushed the price up quite a bit now but still a good lower cost option. Thanks for watching.

Very nice video URHC. I purchased the same unit in June. Although i had a couple issues with the unit, DZ-320, Vevor made good on it and i'm happy with it . Your idea on a ramp for liquid type sealing is what i have done. I also fill up the chamber with cutting boards to reduce the amount of space to evacuate, leading to lesser time to run and a tighter seal. I also read that the colder the "liquid" type items to seal are the less chance of the issue you got with your squash.. I generally let my soups, spaghetti sauce etc cool in the fridge over night before i seal them. An alternate idea would be to bag it, stand it upright in the freezer until it turns slushy, then seal it, this way you'll avoid that mishap and will be able to run a good vacuum. Glad you're enjoying the unit, and again thanks for the wonderful video on it.

Thanks. I found out about the hot item problem after Thanksgiving when my wife made a couple gallons of turkey soup with the carcass. I tried sealing it hot first and wound up with a chamber full of steam and bag seal area that was covered in soup. Let it cool and no problems. So far we have really enjoyed this machine and it does a great job. I made a ramp but it's just not right and I will be making a second generation the bag can't slip down. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for your thorough review! I bought one based in large part on your observations and lack of problems after quickly realizing the FoodSaver we received as a gift has some drawbacks (e.g. not for use with wet items or liquids, will not seal mylar, seals are small and tend to fail, vacuum and seal times not adjustable). The cup/funnel is a good idea. The oiling procedure, view of the inside, and observations about deburred edges are very helpful. Foods with embedded air…duly noted. I wish you had demo’d sealing thick mylar bags, though others have reported it works well.
@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Жыл бұрын
It has been a great machine so far. We don't use mylar and from what I understand any heat strip will seal them so just shut off the vacuum and play with seal time. Thanks for watching.

For things with higher air content (like the processed squash) my strategy is to leave my cycle at 30 seconds, but watch it running. When it starts to get close to trying to overrun your machine should have a stop button. When you hit stop it will just stop the vacuum process then continue with the seal, etc. If you haven't tried it already one amazing thing you can do with these is to do really quick marinades. If you haven't looked up that yet check that out, as well as flash pickles! Also great for sous vide cooking (that's why I got my first one way back when). Enjoy your chamber sealer! Definitely a must if you're a Costco shopper like me. I process all my meat the same way you do as well.

Idont have a button to stop just the vacuum. I tried the emergency button and it also dumped the vacuum from the chamber. This seems to be a simple no frills machine. I can't wait to try the marinade application. Thanks for the ideas. .

I have used these vaccuum chamber sealers for a few years. One tip is if your bag expands like a ballon then you have a pinch in your bag and it had cut off the air. This forms vaccum around bag while inside of bag has air. I think when watching it because butternut was sticky thats what happened.
@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Жыл бұрын
I found out everything like butternut has to be cooled down before packing. If warm it boils from the inside andexpands like mine did. Pack it cold and that doesn't happen. Great sealer so far. Thanks for watching.

Hello URHC. Hey I'm the guy who commented a couple days ago I had just received my Vevor machine and was concerned because no matter what I did, I could only get half-way down the green zone on the Vacuum meter, or about 0.09 MPa. Well, I'm feeling a lot better about it because I did some more digging into this and what I found out is that vacuum performance on these machines is impacted by the elevation you're at. At or near sea-level, the machine should bottom out all the way to down the green zone or do its best. I found a discussion about a guy in Denver Colorado (elevation is 5276) and he can barely get his machine into the green zone or at about 0.08 MPa. He found a fairly easy conversion table and right on target, it showed him that based on his elevation, 0.08 on the vacuum meter was about the best he could expect. Now, I live in Idaho with an elevation of about 2,500 feet above sea level. Sure enough, I did the calculation he showed and my best vacuum reading should be about 0.09 MPa. Sure enough, this is right where I max out on my vacuum meter. Hats off to Vevor because as far as I can tell, their meters seem pretty accurate. So by this theory, if I traveled with my machine and brought it too a coastal town or say, Los Angeles, my new max vacuum reading should bottom out like you said yours does. Which leads me to this. I remember you mentioned you said your Vevor easily pulls the meter all the way down to the bottom of the green zone. Can you tell me the approximate elevation where you're at? Would be appreciated. Even if its close, say 400-800 above sea level or up to 1000, you should be getting that great reading. Now, if you tell me you live way up in the mountains, well, so much for my research! Anyway, very very impressed with the machine and I think what counts is I'm getting great results and much superior results than the Food Saver type vacuum seal.
@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Жыл бұрын
That is great info. I did not realize elevation made that much difference. We are at 469 feet above sea level. We are well over 1000 bags now and not one failure to seal properly. Only issue has been things like bones poking holes in the bags causing a leak. I know many have purchased these machines and haven't heard of any problems other then the cheap misting oil they are supplied with creates some odor when you do a big batch of bags. Good non misting oil fixes that cheaply. I think this machine is as good as brand name machines costing 3 to 4 times the price. The only reason I keep trying Vevor products is because everything so far has worked as promised and is an affordable option to other name brands that also are manufactured in China. Thanks for the education.

Thanks for your elevation information. Yes, what really got my attention too on this machine was the fact that it does seem, even the big names such as Vacmaster and Avid Amor, all are made in Chinese factories. I suspect quality is about the same on all of them. @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023

Hi Buddy, Two things here...First, make sure your food is room temperature. Second, I noticed you were closing off the open end of the bag with your fingers, don't do that, in fact, you need to be sure the open end stays open, or your vacuum will cause expansion of the bag, allowing the food to be drawn out. Again, you cannot seal hot foods. They will boil out at the reduced pressure. Happy New Year.

Does it have an hour counter so you know when to change the oil? The nice neat packs stack so nicely in the freezer and save so much room. Instead of making a little ramp, couldn't you just tightly roll up a towel and lay it under the bags? Darn, I recently bought a new machine from Avid Armor. One of their better vaccum sealers. I wanted a chamber sealer like this but did not want to spend 1K so I settled on a heavy duty model from Avis Armor. I still might get this. It does require a large surface and my kitchen is already well stocked with gadgets. If I can figure out where to put it, I think I will splurge. HAVE A BLESSED &HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

No there is no indicator. I think that 800 hour number doesn't really matter. You should look at the sight glass to see if there is any contamination in it. I also think the pump woll have to be unscrewed and pulled out to dump the old oil out. At 30 seconds a bag, max bags in an hour is 120 times 800 would be 96,000 bags 🤔. It is very heavy and not easy to move. I see they are giving my discount on top of the black Friday sale that brings it down to $341.00 shipped. If you look back I tried the $300 Avid Armor sealer and wound up returning it because the pulse function didn't work. The bags stack nicely in the freezer. I froze the first one flat on the bottom and now stack 2 high on a flat cookie sheet with the first flat one on top so there are no buldges. In an emergency the dozen I filled with water will be good to drink as they melt. It's one of thos things that you don't really need but want to make life easier. We will be home alone eating spam Thanksgiving day. Saturday we are having the big bash and friday I have to drive to Albany and pick my sister up after her dialysis, then bring her back by Monday morning for the next session. 950 miles to drive this weekend but it's also her 70 birthday and we need to celebrate that.

Cool Tool... I made a holder that would hold 3 bags upright that I can fill with Soups and such for camping. Put them in the Freezer in the holder, then I could Vac seal them with a Common Vac sealer. Nice flat packs to help chill the cooler too. Set some marshmallows in there and see how big they get HAHAHHAHA. at least they wont make a mess . Looks like a common Refrigeration vacuum pump in there. Mike M.

Vacuum didn't crush can, atmospheric pressure did. Run vacuum on squash first, then put in bags and run again and seal. Takes two steps, but air would be removed. Looks like a great machine. 800 hours sounds right, but if oil discolors change it, has moisture in it. Doesn't allow deep vacuum to be reached when water/humidity is present in oil. Just bought ultrasonic machine from them, works great, good quality.
@unemployedredneckhillbilly20232 жыл бұрын
Thought thats what I said when the atmospheric pressure is let back in. This surprised me how well it works and at the cost it's simple enough to fix should something break. I didn't think a low cost offshore pump would last that long so we will see over time. Thanks for watching.

Hello again URHC. Ordered the machine a few days ago, arrived yesterday, set it up including taking off back cover, inspecting, and adding the pump oil to just below 3/4 of window. I read instruction manual carefully, but I'd like to ask you a question. I've just done a few test seals and I easily get the dial into the green zone before sealing, but I never seem to be able to get it all the way to zero. I've noticed some other people with this machine getting to zero. I've even tried cranking the vacuum time up to (maximum) 60 seconds but it never gets to zero. Should it? Or is the green zone fine. If you could give me your input, appreciated.
@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Жыл бұрын
Make sure you wipe down the seal area and rubber seal. Inspect the seal for damage. Empty mine will almost hit the end of the green in 30 seconds. When I put items to seal in there it depends what is being sealed. Some things like liquids will go quite a way up the gauge and then stop when they start boiling. some items like green beans contain air and won't go as high on the gauge. Soild items like beef steaks will go higher then ground burger. I pretty much shoot to get at least 1/2 way into the green, if not a little more. There also is some variation in low cost gauges but no easy way to check that. I would try it empty first and if it can't get close to the end of the gauge inspect that all the hoses in it are properly seated if you didn’t check when adding the oil. You should call Vevor and see what they say if the bags don’t come out properly vacuum packed or you cannot make it most of the way up the gauge. Let me know what you find. We love ours and are over 1000 bags with all perfect seals. Thanks for watching.

Do the instructions give you an idea of how to set the sealer (ie: time)? I want one of these so bad, I just haven't ordered it yet!
@unemployedredneckhillbilly20234 ай бұрын
each manufacturers bags can be different so you have to choose the bags you will use along with the plastic thickness. For thin chamber bags most take 1.8 seconds. for thicker foodsaver bags 2.2 seconds. The vacuum time will vary by contents and volume. Just watch the first couple bags and make adjustments to the times for any signs of bad seals or air in the bags. Write them down along with bag info. I just posted a video about a new smaller machine that works great at a much lower price if you don't need the 12 inch seal width. Thanks for watching.

I also have a solar panel with 2 batteries and an inverter in my barn that is good for chargong electronic devices and m18 batteries for flashlights. Woodstove keeps us warm. @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 So sorry, I had only skipped through when asking that, I saw you had the foresight to even show it in the video! Thanks! - I'm currently searching for one of these directly on Chinese supplier sites, exactly because I want one with a chamber big enough for at least 4 125mm jars! Those are sooooo rare! The Chinese build these basically exclusively with commercial application in mind... So the machines are mostly designed to package 1 type of food commercially, rather than "as many different foods as possible" in your own home. What I can tell about YOUR machine, from my travels: - VERY good quality, those insides look stunning! With the best I've seen! - I like the super clear lid, I've also seen some with an icy blue tint to them, very sleek look - having all 3 times displayed/changeable at once is RARE, love it - while yours does not have a massive chamber, it's still above average for the class of machine! (or rather the biggest you can get in the form factor) - motor is a smaller one. very economical, but you may want to consider using a spacer for when you package lots of small/flat bags in a row. Will cut down your cycle time massively! Thanks again, loved it!

Not really made for mylar bags so seal times and vacuum pressure may need adjustments. Contact the bag manufacturer to see if it meets their sealing requirements and settings. If you are sealing dehydrated or freeze dried items sharp edges can puncture bags easily under this amount of vacuum so try reducing vacuum. Most mylar bags are sealed without vacuum using a simple strip sealer. We haven't had any failures after almost 2k of the chamber sealer bags on ours. Thanks for watching.
