You can certainly apply online for job, make phone calls, submit resumes, post on jobs forums, etc. You need to keep a record of all this effort so you can prove to the Labor Dept that you are actively working for work.

Been trying to file from my phone now, for ca ui benefits and on there site they say there's a mobile friendly version which is a lie, i just keep getting sent around in circles after i click one thing that tells me this is for applying, it just takes me back to a different page, its crazy, someone needs to change their website, they are making it difficult for people to file online and i don't understand why they are allowed to get away with that.

For new applicants you need to use the UI online version, instead of the UI mobile. So make sure to click on UI online (if you haven't done yet) anyway you will be able to use any mobile device. Once you are fiiling your application make sure to be saving every page or changes that you get done, because since there is a huge demand on their website it will quick you out for not reason, and you have to log in again. You cannot recover anything that you did not save last. Once you are ready to claim your week benefits then you want to click on UI mobile which is simpler and easier to use than the UI online version.

I work at angels stadium, but due to yo MLB not playing this season, I am technically out of work until maybe next year. Here are my conflicts and would like to see how I should go about my claim. I am a single full-time father to my 5-year-old son and have legal documents stating I have full custody of my son. from my awareness, I believe kids are out of school until next year. Hello, my husband was fired from WESTCOAST cold storage Riverside California in June 2023. He applied for unemployment and was sent an award letter with his approval and weekly amount. He has not received any money. He certifies and no money is being put on his edd card. Also someone is EMBEZZLED $1,000,000.00 from the employer through a fraudulent wage garnishment that was processed in December 2022.

No, you only has to pay IF you didn't have taxes removed out of your unemployment check. Your unempolyment check IS taxable.

Your unemployment check IS taxable but every 2 weeks you have to manually check mark the box that you want taxes taken out for those 2 weeks. But you have to put that check mark every two weeks it will ask you. If not, you will be taxed on your unemployment money when you do your taxes.

quick question branigan, i know this may go against what you are preaching but i am in a situation where i am debating whether I should apply for edd once again. quick background of my business is that I opened up a retail shop back in september 2019 (pre-covid) and was kicked in the butt because retail business has been gone down the drain ever since this pandemic started. my store was closed almost 2 months and i had trouble paying my rent. although i do make some income through my online sales, it is safe to say my business plan did not go as planned. ive been getting my unemployment check since march because i didnt want to miss out on the $600 weekly federal check, but now I am wandering whether I should still continue receiving my unemployment. my retail store is still open, although there are no customers and i havent made a single sale for many months at my store. my online sales is doing okay so its not like im making zero income. do you think i should still apply for edd?

Every time i call a state are loco office they never no why do they give me these numbers and forward me to these people to talk to ... Why dont they no and why cant they help me now i got there attention they can get my information and processes it then a there... I filled out the paperwork and spoke to a representative and now i got to refill it out again and i paid money to fax my information and its money i dont have i dont have a car to travel 45 min and lost my drivers license.. Im in need of this money now and i the question on the paperwork i was sent was not asked .... So i got suspicious i got all documentation .... So i don't see why am i paying for something i cant get when i do need it and help ... This is why i get up set and ask why am i paying a taxe i earned this and im in need cause i got a ticket rent soon a car ill need cause im trying to get visitation do they need all this information really if so i got all documentation and can't get it in one day.
