I was thinking that the major problem for viduthalai 2 was bgm and songs. For me even vjs and manju warrier romance scenes have worked well but intermission scene, which made emmotional impact for vaathiyar's death but in many intense scenes there was unwanted music been used. I thought it was a bad decision by vetrimaaran. You can notice in second half there will be not high usage of music but in first half the fight scenes was amazing but usage of bad bgm the entire scene has been ruined.

Personally, I really loved this film and I totally understand the negative feedback from the audience. The flashback portions especially how vaadhiyar gave up violence because he knew the aftermath for it. They downplayed the train accident and it was basically a blame game between police and makkal padai. If Makkal Padai's sole responsibility was to protect the people, the person responsible for the accident (TA) should have surrendered himself to the police. The people surrounded by vaathiyar were blind followers who believed violence was the only answer to everything. It should have been vaathiyar's responsibility to guide them properly and making sure that violence is not the answer to everything. Even though there were some flaws in the film, the writing was top notch and it was one of the best work from Vetri Maaran.

I think , vetrimaaran sir first planned to do as one part . (That viduthalai 1 is first half and part 2 is second half )which is ok, that vathiyar flash back for 30 mins and etc..but when he changed the idea , he can add more details in first part but he can't add the details to second part so, part 1 feels a great and part 2 feels ok. These are my opinion and I think it happened

I know where were the flaws in both parts of Viduthalai. It was the stunt sequences itself because the involvement of Peter Hein as stunt coordinator the expectations for the action sequences for this movie were high but it turns out it didn’t satisfies me because I went for watch the work of Peter Hein who works on Magadheera, Enthiran, Ko, Matraan and 7aam Arivu but it turns out man’s work were kinda different 😢😢

I beleive the same thing happened to Kanguva as well, why not tell the story of the present/reality rather than exploring the past story.
