Unexpected CSX Fast Moving Empty Coal Train - Chesnee, SC 8/2/14

Video taken on 8/2/14. Sorry about some blurriness in this video. This train came unexpected after I photographed this railroad crossing. This video was taken in downtown Chesnee, South Carolina at Cherokee street (11).

Glad you caught that. Spent many childhood years by these tracks in Chesnee while staying at my grandparents and have watched these once busy Clinchfield RR tracks slowly die with the fall of the coal industry in the last decade. In the last year or two, CSX lowered the speed to 25 mph track to reduce maintenance costs and only a couple locals, two through freights and hit or miss on extras compared to what it used to be. The line however has new PTC signals but CSX quit the project somewhere on the route in the NC mountains.

damn man this is pretty cool i know how it is being caught off guard by a train it can be scary as hell lots of heart pounding adrenaline and shakiness lol
