They knew it wasn't true and said it anyway so that more people would be in great california, one firefighter that I know is from Utah but he went to the Palisades fire and he said that they're Firehouse phones ringing off the hook with angry citizens from all over the state. The citizens were saying that they didn't want any tax dollars from Utah used to send firefighters to California because they had such stupid regulations that they didn't want fire trucks polluting. They had to hire a bunch of temps to come in and answer the phones because they couldn't get anything done. And all the temps did was keep saying over and over it's not true, it's not true. That fake news did not come from abc, NBC or CBS or cnn. It came from Fox news. It was repeated on multiple right-leaning outlets. They told a lot of other lies too. And didn't correct them even after Fire Chiefs and officials gave them evidence of the lies. Why would anyone do that in the time of great disaster and loss of life? It couldn't be for money could it?

Mike, how proud she must be of you. I know we all are. Having lost a wife myself I have some idea of your torment. There is no other loss quite like it. It is unique because of it's intimacy, devastating because of it's blessings and a privilege to be the one God selects to love her right into His arms. When the tigers come at night to devour you in your grief, it is the little memories that only the two of you share that keep them at bay. But in time, she will help you to sleep in peace with a full heart; a heart she lovingly filled to the brim every minute you had together. God bless you mike, in this we are brothers.

Here in the forests of SW Oregon, we had fire fighters from all over to converge on the Slater fire in 2020. Along with all emergency responders, they are a special kind of people. As someone who has had a town full of wild land firefighters nearly ever summer for the last ohh 6 years at least ,because we are the most central settlement with services and room for aircraft and command centers and fire camps in the Humboldt Trinity area . I can tell you that every one of those folks are straight up heroes,men and women who leave their own homes and families and absolutely put their lives on the line to save you and your homes . During the Monument fire I drove out as close as I dared to get to the fire ,like 2 miles ish more by road but it was terrifying the fire was a monster ,flames dancing above the treetops as it devoured everything in its path …. All I could think as I drove the 6 miles to the relative safety of my home was omg every one of those men and women camping in my park ….they keep driving ,straight into the flames every day for weeks ,to save my home and family and my little town ,after loosing both of my childhood homes in wildfires in the last 5 years I was so humbled and overwhelmed with gratitude for those men and women on the fire crews . If you want to see a real superhero ,they wear turn out gear and drive fire trucks ,or fly aircraft into infernos ,often when their life and family need them too they are protecting us ,and when it’s you that has to pack up and run ,and you come back to find you town still standing after so many have lost all … there are no words of thanks that can ever be enough may God watch over every firefighter who has come to my state to help 🙏
