Why would anyone be offended by a wishlist? Like as much as I would love to get sent free books, seeing you opening your gifts and your face light up makes me really happy on your behalf! Like no one is forcing you to send someone books, it's ridiculous that people were offended, and it's not fair on your behalf that you had to take the wishlist down.

I honestly don't see the problem with the wishlists. This whole situation was because of assumptions. Also, I think some people are using the word "uncomfortable" in place of the word "jealous" and no, they're not synonymous. Wishlists are an awesome idea and if you don't want to send a book, then don't.

It's not fair that people can't send you books anymore. if people are uncomfortable with it, they don't have to send you books. I, for one, was planning on getting all my favorite booktubers books for their birthdays. I think that there are more people that enjoy th unboxing hauls and sending the books than there are that are uncomfortable with the whole ordeal. I really hope that you put the wish list back up, because i love looking at wish lists for book ideas and also for gift giving.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that those who feel "uncomfortable" because of someone posting their amazon wishlist, are booktubers who are not popular enough to get any books? Or just seems to me like this is about jealousy in general. I just really don't get it, why it is such a big issue.. I know jealousy sounds really harsh, but that is really the general vibe I get, i'm not trying to be offensive. No booktubers have ever asked for books, they just started posting those wishlists because their subscribers started asking them for it.

I agree. I as a subscriber have never felt obliged to buy anyone books, but I think It's a nice feature for those who want to. It's not an obligation, besides It's usually all the way at the bottom of the description box, It's not like they tell you to buy them something. People have made the "issue" a lot bigger then it needed to be.

Meh. I wholly recommend you putting your wishlist back up. The people who bought you books were doing so out of a good place, and not an obligated place. Wishlists are an indication of what books you WANT to read, for family and friends who don't have the luxury of knowing what you have already read. If they have an issue with the concept of a wishlist, that is THEIR issue, not yours my darlin'. Oh...and good luck on the move!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the only people who seem to have a problem with wish lists are other booktubers who don't get sent gifts.. No one feels obligated to buy anyone anything, they're just gifts and if someone wants to buy them, you can't blame the wish list for that! GreyPersona Yeah, I really get your point and it is true that it depends on the individual viewer. But if so many booktubers noticed that some subscribers don't like the wish list system, there must be a lot of them and I personally think they'd rather take down their wishlist than lose subscribers. And it's not that I have something against the wishlists themselves. It's a great way of sharing which books one like to read, but I just don't like the fact that you are able to send books through it. If a subscriber really wants to send a special book to a booktuber, it is still possible to message them and ask for their address. If they than don't want to give it out, that is perfectly understandable as well, but 'their problem'... Also, I just don't really see, why a booktuber deserves a package of 8 books because in the end they are nothing better or worse than their viewers. Well, I guess this is a controversial topic and people probably won't change their opinion about it. I just wanted to say that the opponents of wish lists aren't only 'jealous' other booktubers

+Meghan Curley That is what a Wish List actually means, it's just there is an extra function on Amazon that allows you to purchase one or many of those wish list books for that specific person. I mean, it is on Amazon, a online shopping site...so...it's kinda a given that they would include that function, it doesn't mean anyone that see the wish list is obligated to buy the book for the person.

Howl's Moving Castle, and all of Diana Wynne Jones's books, were a big part of my childhood. I would defiantly recommend reading the Chrestomanci (if I remember how to spell that correctly) series as well. It's fantastic as you don't need to read them in any particular order and you don't even have to read all of them, even though I highly suggest you do.
