Thanks for the great stories. I have one of my own, The Saint Louis UFO flap of 1992. That shut down air traffic for 3 hours and 55 minutes and had THOUSANDS of witnesses... but has never seen the light of day. I've tried to tell this tale over the years on U Tube (UFO channels) just to have it vanish. No flags, no bs called. Just vanish. I'm 62 I was 32 when this happened and living in Saint Louis. And is was the most amazing thing I've ever experienced. I may write it down one more time I don't know. But know what I saw and I'll carry it with me to my death.

Being an Aircraft Mechanic myself, I do have something to add onto the story with the two silent helicopters. While I was in school, I happened to see the new Boeing 787-9. It was doing brake testing for its full airworthiness certification and the local runway was one of the longest in the world. Which made it perfect for such tests. One day, when I showed up to school, I looked up in shock to see a massive jumbo jet sitting there, about 500ft away from me. The engines were running, and instinctively I thought it was almost on the other side of the airport. I then remembered one of my instructors telling me about noise reduction on airplanes. Essentially, in simple terms, it is very easy to make large jumbo jet engines incredibly quiet. As anyone with any experience living or working around an airport can tell you, turbojet and turboprop engines are incredibly loud. However, by manufacturing the exhaust section in a specific way, it can force the sound waves to collide with one another and cancel each other out. That’s why , if you’ve ever flown on a plane before, it’s so quiet, even though there’s a humongous jet engine only a few feet away. The same application could be made to any jet engine, including ones used on helicopters. Of course, the sound of the engines would completely drowned out by any noise from the rotor blades. It isn’t commonly used as there isn’t much reason for it. You’re gonna hear the rotors just as well as the engine. However, that is a possible, and entirely practical explanation for silent helicopters.

I'm not an aircraft mechanic nor a pilot, but a biologist, and my first thought was that maybe they had figured out how to mimic the way an owl flies silently through the night because I had completely forgotten about engine noise and thought about the sound of propellers whipping through the air. We may have solved how it could possibly be done then. lol The UFOs I've seen made exactly zero sense and I saw two of them at noon and through nice birdwatching binoculars, plus I watched them disappear into fucking thin air while I was watching them through the binoculars. Hell if I know what that was.

Legit_Potato2- Your explanation makes great sense. I can remember jet aircraft, mainly passenger aircraft, being so loud that you had to turn the volume up on your TV, until they passed over. I grew up within 20 miles of the Greater Cincinnati Airport, and my hometown was right in a major flight path for take offs and landings, and the noise was annoying at times, especially at night. Now, we can barely hear them indoors.

I saw a ufo in October 1995 in north east Georgia. I was 16 years old, driving home from my girlfriend’s house at about 11 o’clock at night. I was about a half mile or so from home when it came into my view on the left. It was very low, not even a hundred feet. I slowed to a crawl as I watched it slowly move from left to right. It was round and had lights around the outside rim. The lights were alternating colors of blue, red, and green. I never heard anything but the jalopy I drove back then would have drowned out any sound anyway. It moved across the road in front of me, no more than a hundred yards away, and started to descend. The area was very rural, wooded, with few houses and certainly no airport or military base. The object descended into the trees until I could no longer see it. When I got home I wrote down the account and put the two sheets of notebook paper in my keepsake box because I didn’t want to forget. Somewhere along the way I lost the box and everything in it. But I haven’t forgotten.

I live in Georgia, and I saw a UFO as well sometime around 2016. I couldn't sleep at night, so I started looking out my bedroom window to do some stargazing. There was this one star that was very bright, much brighter than the other stars. I assumed that it must have been a planet because of how bright it was. As I kept looking, it began to move, slowly at first. I initially felt a bit silly because I thought I had mistaken a helicopter for a star. That was until it began moving faster, in more erratic patterns, going side to side, zigzaging, and moving further and closer all while picking up more and more speed. Eventually, it came to a standstill for a few seconds, before without warning just accelerating away out of eyesight faster than any plane I've ever seen. From my point of view, it seemed to have shot off toward space, but it could have just been trying to gain altitude. Either way, whatever that was it was ridiculously fast

My father had a UFO encounter in the early 1980s. He was driving to his house in a village on the English/Welsh border very early on a bright, clear the morning. As he was driving through the village, he saw a long, shiny, cylinder shaped object stationary in the sky above the hills the otherside of the valley. My Dad thought it was so strange that he stopped the car for a closer look, he stepped out and watched the object. As my Dad watched the object, he felt as if it was watching him. This completely spooked my father so much, he jumped back in his car and raced home. 30 years later, I tried to get a rational explanation for what he had seen, I asked him if it could of been a 'Guppy'. A 'Guppy' is an oversized Boeing Stratocruiser which at the time was used by Airbus to move aircraft wings, the village is under one of the flight paths to the Airbus factory. My Dad said that what he saw didn't have any wings and didn't move, it was creepy. The village my father lived, and where I grew up is no stranger to odd happenings. There is a 'White Hooded Figure' or Celtic guardian spirit that has been seen in the woods nearby, big cats (not native to the UK) have also been seen in the area along with various ghosts and strange lights. The village is believed to have been a site of human habitation for at least 1,500 years, I'm guessing some of the former residents have decided to hang around. I do have a couple of stories from the 5 years I worked in the Prison Service, but those are for a different time.

Thank you for including my experience about the hexagonal craft, too, in this episode of Smoke Pit Stories. I guess I did not mention it before in my comments, but just as mentioned in this episode, this hexagonal craft also was completely silent. I just remember one more detail about this craft. In its bottom half, there was a small separate part, which in some way disrupted the faultless surface appearance of the craft. It is pretty confusing even now when I think about it, but one would get the impression that it could be some sort of controlling chamber of the craft. I was at too great a distance from the craft to see anything clearly, so it was impossible to know what this ''part'' could be; therefore, it was my impression that it could be some sort of controlling or operational chamber. Could have been something completely different altogether, too, but I got such a notion when I saw it. This ''part'' was ''incorporated'' in a spherical or a similar-to-spherical manner inside the craft; that much I could make out. All in all, it was a mind-blowing experience for me!

Love the channel so I'll add one for the pit. When I was in high-school in the summer of 2016 in Frankfort, Ky. I saw something I still can't explain. I was watching TV in our living room late at night either near or after midnight ,as bored high schoolers do. When out of the window I saw some movement in the stars. I watched as these lights danced in the sky. Back and forth, at extreme speeds ,making impossible turns with no sound it was mesmerizing. I sat there watching until I had a strange sensation to look up. I did and found myself watching a blacked out octagon ,the size of my house, low enough to see light around the edges, pass straight over my head. It scared the shit out of me so I ran inside locked the door and grabbed a Mosin-Nagant for God knows why. My dad found me later that night, and asked what had me freaked out ,I didnt know what to tell him. I don't know why that scared me shitless but it still does. Note our house was under a regular national guard flight path ,but this object came from an entirely opposite flight path and definelty was not a helicopter.

It seems like Kentucky is a popular place for UFOs. So I thought I would post my experience. I grew up in eastern Kentucky and still live here to this day. I have always been interested in space and UFOs and consider myself something of a very amateur astronomer. I spent many nights camping in the woods hunting or just sitting in the backyard looking at stars and talking to my friends or brothers long into the nights. I could always point out many of the more popular constellations, I could usually find Mars or Jupiter or Venus when they were up. I have seen "falling stars" meteor showers, planes with their blinking lights, watched the IAS skirt across the sky...but I have never seen anything like what I saw before or since that one night. I can't remember exactly, but I believe it was 2008 or 2009, it was a late summer, early fall evening. We lived in rural Kentucky so there was never any concern with light pollution. Every clear night, so long as there wasn't much humidity in the air, I could look up and see the arm of the Milky Way high up in the sky. It was late, close to 10pm, and one of my brothers and I were sitting on the back porch with my dad just having a few drinks and talking. We had some other family and friends over that evening that had left just a little bit ago and so were just enjoying the cool night air before going in for the evening. My brother and I just happened to be standing at the edge of the porch and looking up at the stars some. It was a very clear night with a somewhat bright moon. One of us noticed a very bright looking star, nearly directly above us. It was brighter than anything else around it, much brighter than any star normally looked. We commented on it and wondered aloud as to whether it was a planet, or a comet, or maybe the ISS. But it didn't move, which ruled out any kind of comet or the ISS, and it didn't have the slight coloring that you usually see with Mars or Jupiter, plus it seemed even brighter than they did. Finally, my brother suggested it must be some kind of satellite, which made sense at the time. Just as we were almost done satisfying ourselves with that explanation...it began to move slowly across the sky, to the north. That would have been strange enough, but as we watched it making its way across the sky, another dot of light just a little bit behind it that wasn't as bright and was just a little bit off center with the first one, began to move with it. The two of them moved at the same, steady, slow speed across the night sky, to the north. Just before they crossed beyond the hillside and out of our field of vision, the smaller "star" that was trailing the brighter one, moved over to line itself up with the one in the lead, and they continued in that formation until we couldn't see them anymore. And their wasn't any sound, they didn't leave any kind of con trail or any trace at all. If we had stopped looking at them even a moment sooner, we would have never seen them move like that. The whole thing only event only lasted for a minute, maybe 2, as we watched them trail across that sky, but it was something that has stayed with me even to this day. Every time I think about that it sends chills down my neck. It was the most bizarre thing I have ever seen in the night sky. I don't know how to explain it. There were no flashing lights, they were so high up from our perspective we thought they were satellites or stars. Certainly not like planes I have seen multiple times flying through the night, these lights were much, much higher than that. They stayed stationary for a long while while we looked at them, before they just suddenly started to move. Anyway, that's my story. I tried to be as detailed as I could recall. Glad to know I'm at least not the only person to see strange things in Kentucky.
@AverageAmerican
@AverageAmerican 2 жыл бұрын
I'm trying to understand how you determined the light wasn't a satellite. So, you wouldn't expect a satellite go from a stationary state into movement? And then if it did, you wouldn't expect to see a light trailing it, also? And/Or what would you expect from a satellite that is different from what you saw. I hope you don't mind my asking...
@TheMythriel
@TheMythriel 2 жыл бұрын
@@AverageAmerican No, I don't mind. A stationary, geosynchronous satellite shouldn't move. It's put in place in orbit and it is supposed to keep it's position relative to the Earth. If it was something that was orbiting at its own speed, then it should just trail along slowly and not change it's trajectory or speed. What I saw, initially, was completely stationary. It was bright and it didn't move. It just looked like a really bright star. And then it suddenly just started moving. It probably took it about 2-3 minutes to trail across the sky out of sight behind the hills. And shortly after it started moving, the smaller one started moving in the exact same direction. The smaller one was a little bit to the side of the brighter one, it wasn't directly behind it at first, but it was moving along a parallel trajectory. And, just like I said, just before they went out of sight, the smaller one in the back moved directly behind the brighter one, still keeping its same distance, but instead of moving along parallel lines, they were now moving on the exact same line out of site. There was no sound, no smoke trails of any kind, nothing like that. And it was a bright night, I don't remember the moon being necessarily full, but I remember it being bright and high in the sky. That's why I don't think it was a satellite, because of the fact it was still, suddenly started moving and then the other one started moving and even changed its course in an intelligent manner. It wasn't like it moved and wobbled and sorta looked like it was behind it, I mean it precisely and smoothly move in line behind the brighter one while keeping their speed exactly. It was the strangest thing I've ever seen and if someone can explain it, I'm all ears. Until then though, it still raises the hair on the back of my neck just thinking about it.

These stories are awesome. Last week I had a strange UFO incident happen : I live in an area in between the suburbs and farmland, with lots of nature and wildlife in proximity. I went to my fairly large back yard to let the dog out before going to bed. I brought a flashlight with me, because there are raccoons, skunks and wild rabbits around in the yard at night and I don't want the dog to be bitten by a possibly rabid wild animal. The dog is quite stupid in that regard and will chase them if they're there, despite being told to stay put and to leave them alone. Anyway, after scanning the yard with the flashlight (all was clear), I let the dog out so it could do its' business for the night. To test the strength of some of my flashlights, I have a habit of pointing them to the sky at night and see how strong the beam is and how far it carries, kind of like a "bat signal" thing. The night sky was very clear and all the stars were visible that night. I pointed the flashlight at a dark section of the sky with no visible stars and lit it for about two or three seconds, noticed the light beam go straight up and then turned it off. To my amazement, approximately 1 second after I turned off my flashlight, a stationary light up in the sky blinked quite brightly, right in the middle of where I had pointed the flashlight about a second earlier. It looked like a star, but brighter and it must've been at very high altitude. There was no sound at all and it appeared to be completely stationary. After it "blinked", that section of the sky went completely dark again. I kept looking at it for about 30 seconds, but it did not blink again. There was absolutely no clouds in the sky that night and visibility was perfect, so it wasn't just a bright star with a cloud passing in front of it. It almost felt like I had received a response from whatever was up there, after I lit it up with my flashlight by accident. I called for the dog, told him to get back in the house and locked the door. Quebec, Canada. April 2022.

I have this distinct memory from when a young child in the UK, (possibly around 5 years old) looking out of my bedroom window late at night at the large stretch of countryside around our house. There was a bright amber light slowly moving horizontally across the sky in the distance. Hard to say how far, but it was perhaps multiple kilometers away. Then eventually, the light stops stationary for several seconds before beginning to move upwards into the sky. Not fast, only slightly faster than it's horizontal speed, until it rose so high it disappeared from my view through the window. I told my parents the next day what I saw, but they just told me "It was a plane", which I thought was weird at the time because even at that age, I knew enough about planes to know they couldn't do that. Sometimes I still wonder what that was and this video reminded me of it.

Great videos all around. I appreciate that most contributors admit they don’t know what they saw, and don’t jump to ‘aliens’ like many of these videos tend to do. I can tell you that weather has some wonky effects on aircraft, flares, marking lights, etc. I’ve watched flares get caught in thermal pockets and move upward, rotary wing aircraft operate upwind of a warm wind and be near-silent, and the humid summer air create mirages of vehicle/aircraft marking lights just over the horizon. I’ve seen some unexplainable things myself (in the mountains of Afghanistan and Campbell’s back 40), but I concede there may very well be reasonable explanation.

Loving all the Wartime Stories and the Bedtime Stories. My only maybe-possibly experience was as a teenager in the 1970s. My family is from Yorkshire in England, and since I was 5 years old we've lived in Kent, at the opposite end of the country. So we used to drive north at frequent intervals to visit family. The usual route took us past many of the RAF bases in the English Midlands where the nuclear bombers were based. Mainly Aaron Vulcanised, if you're familiar with that aircraft. One evening in late summer or early autumn of......? 1978?.......we were passing one of these bombers stations in Lincolnshire as Vulcans were returning from (presumably) a training flight and taxiing to the apron. I happened to glance over to the other side of the road and saw lights in a roughly triangular pattern at a fair height - maybe a few hundred feet. I just thought it was another Vulcan coming in to land. It was about the same size and dimensions, given that it was nighttime and all I could see was lights. It was only when it started moving backwards in mid air that I began to think otherwise. The only UK aircraft at that time with the potential ability to fly backwards was the recently introduced (at that time) Harrier. And this was definitely bigger than a Harrier. To this day, I still wonder what it was, and what it was doing there.

I live just south of camp roberts, in san luis obispo itself. About a year ago, I was out trying to catch a glimpse of a meteor shower when a black triangle with dim amber and red lights flew right above my head. It was dead silent and really slow for something flying. This thing however wasn’t headed towards the military base but was on a direct path to the nuclear power station at diablo canyon which is only a few miles to the west of me.

My father told me when we would fish at night where my grandparents cabin is still to this day and it's in the middle of nowhere 4 miles away from the closest town by the Allegheny River in Rockland Township, PA. We would be night fishing on the river and see things in the sky that didn't fly like normal planes or helicopters. He told me that they looked like stars and they would be moving then stop and stay in place for a while then just take off without notice. He said that he seen them numerous times and I figured he was joking around with me because I was 9 years old at the time and just trying to mess with me. Then when I was 13 and stayed there with my grandparents and allowed to go out after dark fishing by myself I would watch the sky for anything strange. I learned that he wasn't just messing with me after all. I would see lights in the sky moving like normal planes then stop dead in their tracks and just take off. How I knew they weren't planes or choppers is they didn't have blinking lights. They were solid the whole time I saw them. Just wanted to share this one with you love these videos

We stopped at a traffic light in Walpole, we were headed to his body shop in Norwood . Anyways, it was probally about 0830, and as I was looking out the windsheld,I saw that 3 light triangle configuration as seen in the first story here. I never mentioned it to my dad,but over the years to friends. I thought it was need to see that experiance on here and it was around the time as the other sightings. Appreciate you, bro. I saw two white spherical objects through my 8x42 binoculars at around noon. Saw them clear as day and watched them disappear into thin air all through my perfectly focused binoculars. I watch birds with those and sometimes damn birds are hard to watch through them so I know for a fact that I saw a solid object vanish. Before this, I was someone who thought that, statistically, there had to be aliens but that it was unlikely that they had come here. After that, I'm not so sure anymore. It could be ours but damn.

These were so interesting and your voice is great to listen to! These stories remind me of some of my experiences growing up just outside of Washington DC. We lived in one of the tallest condos in the area back in the 70s. There were two 26 story towers facing each other and I lived in the South tower. To the east was the DC skyline and in the distant west, the mountains of Virginia. One night in 1979, while babysitting on the top floor of the South tower, I looked out toward the North tower and saw the strangest thing. Growing up outside of DC between Dulles and Reagan airports, Andrews Air Force base and even Air Force One and all the helicopters involved in protecting DC, the Pentagon and the White house, we saw our fair share of aircraft. But this was different. There were 3 lights, a big white light followed closely by 2 small red lights. Kind of like that scene from Close Encounters of the Third Kind when those lights zoom past the folks sitting around waiting to see a UFO. They moved and hovered in the wieredst way and then suddenly they stopped above the North tower and I got the worst feeling of dread...the feeling that they could see me standing at that huge window staring at them. It scared the bijeebies out of me!! For whatever reason I called a friend and told him what I was seeing and all he would say is that the airspace over DC is highly monitored and there is NO WAY a UFO can be that close...ugh he wasn't seeing what I was seeing. And just as they came, hovered around and terrified me, they swooped off and were gone. It was soooo wierd and the feeling of pure dread and terror that hit me when it felt like I was being watched is something I have never forgotten.

I’d like to share my personal experience from 10 years ago in rural Putnam, AL. I was 14 at the time (24 now). I’ve never shared this experience publicly anywhere, only with select friends and people whom I trust. I have a very public work life and don’t want people thinking less of me or thinking I made it up. I figure if someone reads this here, they are in a mindset to believe rather than criticize. I live in Mobile, AL. An hour or two south of Putnam. Where this took place was on a hunting camp in Putnam where my family has been a member of all of my life. The camp itself consists of 2,000+ acres right on the Tom Bigbee river, surrounded by thousands of acres owned by other clubs or land owners. As rural as rural gets. It’s a solid 45 minute drive from pavement to where our camp house is, though you can throw a stone from the camp house into the river (large barges pass by on the river pretty often). This event was witnessed not only by me but also by my Dad, his business partner and his son. 4 men total. I’ll give you a short back story on myself, I grew up fishing and hunting all over south AL. Spent a majority of my life outside. When I was a kid I was very active in Cub scouts, Boy Scouts camping etc. and went to a very upclass college prep school for most of my school career. My Dad, Bill and his best friend Keith were both Vice-Presidents of a major safety supply business in south AL. Millions in sales each year. Keith’s son Preston was much like I, went to a very nice school, well educated and outdoorsy. All four of us were and are still now sane, practical men who prefer things we can understand over wild fantasy tales. This was far from fantasy, a reality that terrified me. On the day in which this happened we had set out to go get into shooting houses overlooking food plots to hunt deer. The food plots (imagine a few acre large green field with a box on stilts big enough to fit two people at one end of the field in the trees) were about a 30 minute four wheeler ride away from the camp house. I rode on the back of my Dad’s four wheeler and Preston rode on the back of his Dad’s (Keith’s) four wheeler to get there. Once we arrived I was dropped off at my food plot and then my dad went to his. Preston and Keith the same. My food plot was a short walk through a crude trail to get to my shooting house. Now to paint a picture, imagine a Y, the Y being the road. We entered into this area at the foot of the Y, my food plot was in the center of the Y halfway up the left side and my Dad’s was at the top of the left stalk of the Y. Keith’s plot was to the right of the Y just past the spilt and Preston’s was at the top of the right stalk of the Y. What we eventually saw originated from the right of this Y, this becomes important because it’s not just what we saw, but heard. We all got into our shooting houses around 2:00-2:30ish in the afternoon and would remain until after sundown. From my stand I watched about 6 Doe (female deer) and 12 pigs throughout the afternoon. Our rule on this camp was no shooting Doe at this stage in the season, only Bucks or pigs, and I was waiting for a buck. At around 4:45-5 I began to hear something approaching from my right (my back right area facing Keith’a plot), I didn’t have windows out of the side or back of my shooting house so I couldn’t look at what it was, windows only in front. As it approached I realized this wasn’t anything I had ever heard. If you spend enough time in the woods you learn what animals and people sound like as they move. People and animals have very distinct sounds as they move. Whatever this was, it was NOT pigs, deer, squirrels, birds, people, anything I had ever heard. It moved quickly in bursts, three to four strides at a time, covering 20-30 feet roughly in such few strides, far greater distance than any human could. As it approached it got to within 50 feet to the right of me, just in the treeline before the open food plot. Suddenly all the deer and pigs looked up at it and ran off in a far more terrified way than they normally would react. My heart was already racing and then something primal took over in me, lizard brain stuff, I was terrified. I had spent so much of my life in the woods, alone, even in the dark and had never felt fear like this, or fear to that degree since. Whatever it was, it did not move an inch from the 50 feet or so since I had last heard it. I sat there, motionless, for 30-45 minutes until it was completely dark. At this point I used the text option on my radio to text my dad to see if he was ready to leave. We were all supposed to meet back at the Y in the road. He replied that he was and that he would meet me at the base of my trail so I could ride back to the Y with him rather than walk. I got ready to leave my stand, I unloaded my rifle (being the safe little hunter I was), put the shells in my pocket and grabbed my backpack. I had a flashlight in my zipper pocket of my jacket as well. I descended the ladder from the house onto the ground and began walking down the trail. Then, worst part of all, I heard movement 40 or so feet behind me. I froze, sat for a few moments and heard nothing so I began to walk again. There, to my dismay, was the movement behind me this time mimicking my footsteps, step by step. Again I stopped, spun around and began walking backwards. Mimicking continued, step for step. I stopped, I un shouldered my rifle, loaded it, and pulled out the flashlight. Torch in my left hand and rifle in my right I shined the light in the direction of the movement but couldn’t see anything. I was the most terrified I’d ever been, literally shaking. When I heard my Dad’s four wheeler coming I spun around and hauled absolute Alabama ass to it, not looking back once, and jumped on telling my dad “DRIVE! GO!!”. Which he did until we got back to the Y. Keith was already at the Y when we arrived and Preston was on his way back, walking. When we got there, four wheelers turned off, my dad asked what happened and why I was so panicked. I started explaining the quick version of what happened, Keith chimed in that he also heard something that scared both him and the deer in his plot to death moving behind his shooting house towards mine, originating from the right of the Y. About this time, as Preston was approaching from up the road, a bright white circular light just appeared about 1000 feet away, to the right of the Y junction and 500 feet in the air. Bright enough to look like the sun but pure white. No sound, nothing. After lingering a few seconds. It slowly descended into the trees before completely disappearing. No noise, nothing. DEFINITELY not a meteor (trust me, I’ve seen all there is to see there), helicopter, airplane, flare, weather balloon or anything I’ve seen. All four of us watched in disbelief, looked at each other, and then mounted our four wheelers and drove back to the camp house faster than what was probably safe. Four of us saw the light, two of us heard the “it” stalking through the trees. None of us had any explanation. We talked about it in detail when back at the camp house, in such a fashion that you would’ve thought we just witnessed a plane fall out of the sky. It was not casual conversation, we were scared. After that night we didn’t really speak much of it, I think we all tried to rationalize what we saw into understanding. But I still remember every detail vividly. I’ll never forget it. Most terrifying thing I’ve ever experienced. I’ve jumped from planes, flown planes privately, nearly drowned, nearly been in a shooting, nothing comes close to the fear I felt that night. Instinctual fear. I can’t make anyone believe me but hopefully I’ve painted a picture to help you understand what I experienced. I’ll answer any questions anyone wants to ask.

As a witness to a close up UFO, just blocks from a a small municipal airport (EGP) in 1989; I'm always eager to hear of UFO encounters. My sighting occured directly under the final approach for landing aircraft. It was at night and was in a group of two families. The UFO was rarely discussed. The object itself floated overhead in total silence and appeared like a flat gray circle with numerous antennae with pulsing red lights at the tips of the antennae. It seemed to have metal panels slapped onto it half hazardly at random. It had the diameter of about 40 feet. It was super close, no higher than say 200 feet. God I miss that little airport. It's operations were moved to an abandoned airfield 12 miles north in 1998. I miss the sounds and sight of small aircraft lining up for landing approach. I wish I could go into the full details behind the sighting of that UFO.

FWIW: I used to be an enlisted aircrewman in the US Coast Guard. I was on a DAYTIME flight in a USCG HC-130H Hercules aircraft where we 'test-dropoed' some parachute flares. AFAIK it was the first time in a couple decades that had been done. As best as I can recall a USCG HU-16 Albatross airplane that had been carrying parachute flares in the late 60s or early 70s had one of the flares ignite while still aboard the aircraft. The Albatross was either heavily damaged or crashed. I do not remember the details of the incident, but since that time parachute flares had NOT been carried on USCG aircraft. {Smoke flares, which ignited after hitting the water, WERE carried.} Anyway, we had the cargo door and ramp open inflight, which is actually a pretty neat thing to see. When these flares were released from tubes in the cargo door, the ignited very quickly, and were EXTREMELY BRIGHT. Even in daylight. I or one of the other members of the aircrew shot video with a video camera -- remember those? -- and the bright light of the flares 'overwhelmed' the image on the videotape before we were some distance away from the flares.

Re: government aircraft: That's what my one and only "strange" experience was. I grew up in Virginia in a very rural area, and one night a large aircraft flew over the ridge across the road, very low but completely silent. We had people pulling into our driveway to watch. My mom, being practical, was the only one unconcerned, and just said "it's probably the government, they always test planes out here." And it turned out, she was right! About a year later, my uncle brought down a copy of Popular Science, and right on the front was our mysterious aircraft, a new military stealth plane. So it was a cool experience, just in a different way.

19:25 As someone who recently seen flares at night, I want to add that flares do move very slowly downward (this can be hard to see if you have no object reference), they emit smoke, and can go out at the same time as the others despite them being deployed at different times. They possibly have remote control to them? At least the ones I seen all went out at the same time so it might of been a new feature they were testing. They appear whitish-yellow/orange. I thought they were street lights at first until I noticed the height was too far up.

My friend and I saw a flying 'cigar' near the Toronto Airport in a clear blue sky. We were driving on the 401 east into Toronto. It was fairly low to the ground (my guess - as high as a 18 story apartment building) and looked like a brushed aluminum. I shook hard up and down, darted across the 401 towards the airport, stopped abruptly, shook hard again, shot back to where we first saw it, shook again then took off west in the blink of an eye. The sun reflected off of it. My sighting lasted perhaps 30 seconds. I've remembered that day my entire life.

I have a similar story to these. 1200am - 12:15 am December 26th, 2009. Graham road, on the outskirts of the City of Hamilton, New Zealand. I was traveling home from my girlfriends' parents' place in the township of Taupiri and heading towards the city. I saw a golden light in the distance and assumed it was the landing light of an aircraft. I was driving directly toward it. It took about 5 mins of driving towards this thing before I could get a better view. Normally aircraft are gone by 60 seconds simply because of their speed and especially if driving towards it in a car. It was actually heading towards me and our paths crossed. It was to my 2 o'clock as a drove past it and it was about 200 meters in the sky. Its speed was very slow about 20-30kms. I turned off the main country road and went down a side road. I hopped out of the car to get a better look. The object had a main bright golden light that could be seen from any angle. The same lights I originally saw were visible from behind it as well. There were also blue, green, and red lights flickering in a chaotic fashion, it was clear this was not your ordinary aircraft. As I hoped out of the car the object began to do a semi-circle around my position but from a distance of about 400 meters ( 900 feet) and a height of about 200 meters. There was no sound from the object. It was slowly moving above the nearby maze fields. It descended and slowed down and went behind a row of trees and that was the last I saw of it. The craziest part of this encounter was the fact that this object had been traveling directly toward me and decided to change course as I drove past it and off the main road. It was aware I could see it There were no airports close by. The week before and in the same area, I had witnessed a bright moving light above a transformer power station.

In the 80's, 60 Minutes had a segment on noise cancellation. It was shown that when they could generate a soundwave the same frequency as another, they would cancel each other out. They did two examples that I can remember. A vehicle muffler and an engine. They started both one at a time and then applied the same frequency. They both became silent and the scientists spoke normally. I never heard more about it. I think our government caught on and that's what they use to keep engines silent.

I actually have two incidents: The first happened to me when I was on summer vacation in southeast Wisconsin in 2nd and 3rd grade. My aunt was visiting from Florida and my parents were both working 3rd shift at the time. My brother, my aunt, and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful clear summer night and watch the stars in our side yard. I've seen all sorts of planes both civilian and military passing over our house due to our proximity to Milwaukee and some smaller airfields in Watertown, Hartford, and Oconomowoc. That night I was looking in the general direction of Watertown and saw what I thought was a star, but something was off about it. It had a gold hue to it( most stars are white or blueish). I pointed it out to my aunt who mostly dismissed it but I kept watching it. After a few seconds it started moving and I thought it was a plane, but it was moving oddly in a figure 9 and it was leaving behind a glowing golden trail behind it. It spooked me and convinced the three of us to go in for the night. My second incident happened again at my house in December 2019. I'd just gotten off work and pulled into my driveway at 7:30pm. I was walking to my front door from my car when I had a sudden thought just pop into my head that said:"Strange things in the air tonight" Before I opened my door I happened to turn around facing the sowthwest and saw the stars. Then I did a double take and saw a formation of lights to the Southwest traveling in a line. I immediatly got my mom and we just sat their watching this pattern of lights traveling in a line for about 20 minutes. I grabbed a binoculars from the house to get a better view. There was still some twilight left and I couldn't get much more detail of the objects other than they must've been very high altitude since they were reflecting sunlight off them. We counted 38 objects which would appear in the southwest and travel northeast before another object would appear behind it. After they would travel for a little bit in the sky they'd seemingly dissappear from view. I tracked of the objects as it dissappeared with the binoculars and noticed it was changing direction and losing reflectivity as it and the others dissapeared from naked eye view. I told my brother what we saw and he didn't believe us until he saw the same thing two weeks later but heading in the opposite direction. I'm not sure what I saw in either incident but would like to know if anybody else has seen something similar.

I saw a ball of golden light once, no trail or erratic movement though. It was about the size of a penny at arms length from my perspective, and it slowly and steadily moved east. Over head, travelling west to east, was a string of bright red lights, maybe five or six in a line... no propulsion noise could be heard, but the weird noise that attracted us was a bell ringing (ding-a-ling old fashioned type) The object/s passed over our village into the nearby town, where the local paper received reports, dubbing it a flying fire engine

I live in Maryville, TN. Just outside of Knoxville and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. I had an experience when I still lived at home with my parents I’ll never forget. I was in my room one night, probably 10pm or so, when my dad burst in my room all amped up telling me to come outside. I was in the middle of a video game, so I begrudgingly paused it and followed him to the back deck of the house. My mom was already outside looking at the sky when we got out there, and they both pointed out a bright golden light slowly making its way toward our neighborhood. No sound whatsoever. No red/green flashing lights like typical aircraft have either. It was hard to get a sense for how high or low the object was due to the lack of noise or other features. Just a solid golden light, brilliant in the way it glowed. We stood there for about 2-3 minutes as this object slowly moved overhead. The main thing that stood out to me was the direction in which this object was moving. Their house is almost exactly due West from the local airport. So pretty much my entire life I had watched airplanes fly perpendicular to the houses property line as they made their way to the airport. This object was moving parallel to property of the house. The direction of this objects flight just completely contradicted all air traffic I had ever seen. That, the lack of sound emitted by the object, and the lack of usual red/green lights leads me to believe whatever we saw was not a plane or helicopter. Finally, after watching this thing slowly hover directly toward us, the object instantaneously took an almost 90 degree turn away from the direction of the local airport, and shot out of sight. The way the object turned and accelerated out of sight was truly jaw dropping. All without a single sound. My parents and I stood on that deck for a good 30 seconds before anyone even said anything. We were in awe.

Thank you so very much for including my fathers UFO experience, it actually made him emotional to hear it spoken of without prejudice. He is very much a realist as I mentioned and it is only in these later years he has spoken of it. My mother on the other hand has had numerous UFO experiences but not of a military type.... or are they? It was the early 1970s and my parents resided in the London Borough of Walthamstow living in a terraced house which backed onto a factory. My father would tune in to FM classical music on his Hi-Fi system of an evening whilst my mother would star gaze from the back bedroom window. All of a sudden she spotted, moving from left to right across her field of view, an orange glowing oval ahaped object which was totally silent, estimating its height to be 200ft going by the clearance over the roof of the factory, it slowly glided through the night sky and disappeared out of sight over the roof tops in about a minute. My mum was dumbfounded and thought she must be seeing things... as if to prove that she wasn't there then appeared , heading in the same direction and again in total silence, a group of glowing orange oval objects. There was a 'V' formation of five flying higher than the first one seen. Following them, though much lower, were two objects but these were attached to one another via a electrical arc as if one was towing the other. This took a couple of minutes, deducing the height difference thus more time taken to observe their passage, till they eventually disappeared out of sight. My mum ran to get my father but he dismissed it as possibly just helicopters despite my mums protests to the contrary, he did however admit that the FM signal had bad interference at the time of the sighting. My farhers attitude has mellowed with age and he is a lot less sceptical having now admitted his own childhood experience. I myself have only seen one.... possibly...but it was fleeting and not note worthy. Ghosts however and I can state without a shadow of a doubt they exist..... my parents and I know this to be a fact, we shared a 400yr old cottage with one, that's another story. Again many thanks for your telling of my father's account.

About 6 years ago a buddy of mine was dating a career officer at Wright Patt in Dayton. She had obtained several IT degrees via military tuition programs and was assigned to manage the data servers that received downloads from various drone programs. She was privy to some knowledge of the drones themselves and told my buddy that we had drones, “the size of a football field.” Now, I know that football field comparison is quite cliche by now thanks to the black triangle sightings, but it was still interesting. In fact, Bigelow’s own NIDS team suspected that the black triangles were indeed lighter than air military craft. Anyhow, my buddy knew I was into this stuff and told me what she said. Unfortunately that was all she ever let slip. I wish he had asked her what they were shaped like.

Thanks for sharing all these stories with us, from your Smoke Pit episodes, to your fictional stories (like The Kitsune), to your true life recounting of Roy Benevidez's heroic actions. All of these stories have been helpful in keeping my mind occupied and distracted while I and my family are dealing with a rough personal loss. I've been binging your videos while at work and while at home (along with those of Bedtime Stories), and I can simply not get enough. I have a story of my own to share sometime, and I'd like to do so if you have any interest. It's not a particularly long or engaging story, but I can attest to some of the other accounts in this video of those strange amber-colored lights that may or may not be flares. I live in the middle of nowhere, in a town that used to be a military base that played host to the legendary Enola Gay herself. Our original airfield, dating back to the 1940s, has been restored and preserved as a national historic site.

I also have a friend and his dad was coming home from work one night ( he worked 3 shift so it was about 3:00 am). He said he was going around a curve in the road and as he was coming out of it there was a triangle shaped craft in the creek that ran beside the road. At first he thought it was a car because there are a lot of accidents in that curve until he got closer. He said it was about the size of a car and triangular shaped. I don't remember if he said it had any lights on it. He said it then took off straight up and was gone. I do believe that he saw something that night because after that night, he wouldn't go anywhere without a camera.

One night during 1968 or 1969 I was hunting out in the middle of nowhere, but near Edwards AFB and I saw 3 red lights in a triangle in the distance. I know I am late coming to the party, but this episode reminded me of something that myself and three others witnessed one night on Pensacola Beech back in 2000 when we were in Navy A-School at NTTC Corry Station. A lot of times, we would go and hang out at the beech and just hang out, since we were not of age to get into any of the clubs or bars. One night four of us were sitting on the beech, listen to music, eating some take out and just shooting the bull, when one of my friends, a guy named Carter asked "what is that?" and pointed out over the water. There over the Gulf of Mexico, was what looked like a formation of six lights rotating around a seventh in the center. we watched the lights for probably about thirty minutes trying to figure out what they could be. There was no sound and the lights moved too slow to be aircraft. As we watched the center light disappeared and the other six lights began moving off into different directions as if each just straightened out their course. after making a bit of a separation all of them just pulled up and disappeared into the night sky. We spent the next hour trying to think logically what the lights could have been, because none of us believed in UFOs, but for every theory we put forward, it would be countered. In the end we decided to not talk about it again (we were worried it might affect our security clearance we needed for our rates). This episode just made me remember that night.

Many years ago, during one of my assignments, one of my extra duties was to load military parachute flares aboard aircraft. One of those flare types was the LUU/4-B. They are rated for 1.6 MILLION candlepower, sort of an old-fashioned measurement. But, that equates to 20 million lumens, so those who have bought bright flashlights can get some idea how much light that really is. We were told if we dropped one of those flares on the concrete, and they ignited, the heat would literally incinerate us, and so to never carry them "like firewood", but only one at a time with a firm grip. I took that VERY seriously, and would instantly correct anyone I saw trying to carry more than one at a time. We were also told they could be seen from 50 or more miles away.

Ok, so, after watching this episode of Wartime Stories and seeing how other people have also seen UFO's, I felt compelled, and finally have developed the courage, to share my story/encounter/sighting, whatever you wanna call it. It was late one evening, back in 2007. My family and I were in our living room watching tv. Around 9:30, and my mom was asleep on the couch, while my dad and I were laying on the floor. He had fallen asleep too. The show we were watching went to a comerical, and I rolled over to look out our front window. Now, at the time, I was just 10 years. But what I saw next flying across the sky, would, and still does, haunt me to this day; and I'm now 25, going on 26 next month. Flying over our house, and the neighborhood, was a craft. It was square shaped, though the corners were rounded. There were two small red lights at the front and back, but what caught my attention were the two segmented, bright white lights in the shape of a ring on the left and right corners. From what I could see, there appeared to be the hint of a hump on the top of the craft. And I know this is gonna sound crazy, but despite the darkness, I could tell this thing had a shiny metalic hull that was dark purple in color. The part that scared me the most was how low, and quiet, it was. I swear on a stack of bibles that this craft was no more than the height of one of those metal tower's that hold powerlines. AND THERE WAS NO NOISE coming from the craft. IT WAS DEAD SILENT! Had this thing been a conventional craft, the shear noise from this thing would've not only shaken the houses, but it would've also woekn the whole neighboourhood up! It was so low. Unfortunately, I was too shocked by the appearnce of the craft to think to run to my kitchen window to keep observing the craft and the direction it was heading. Now, I'm from, and still live in, Akron, Ohio. And yes, I live fairly close to the Ravanna Arsenal military facility. So I've seen plenty of military helicopters, mainly blackhawks, choonucks, and a couple apachie's once, and even a few large turboprop planes fly over occasionally. I also live close to both the Akron and Akron-Canton Airports, so I've seen a lot of civilian aircraft ranging from 747's to the small cesina's. I tell you, this craft didn't come even reomtely close to any of these things. Ever since I saw this craft, I've been fascinated with UFO's, and the supernatural in general, digging into the subject as much as I can. Now, I admit, I don't know if it was aliens, or some kind of top secret government project, but all I know is, this craft WAS NOT normal. And it changed my life in both positive, and negative ways. My own father ridicules me every time I tell him, none of my friends believe me, and most of the people I do tell this story to think I'm crazy and play too much Halo. So I've kept my mouth shut for over 15 years. On the flip side, it opened me up to studying the supernatural/paranormal. But now, I'm glad I can finally share it with people who have also seen other UFO's.

I remember one East Coast Canadian summer when I was about 13. It was a beautiful sunny day around noon time, blue sky with perhaps a couple streaks of white Altostratus clouds in the sky. I was in my friends back yard along with 5 other friends and my friends parents who lived there. We were just enjoying the day, perhaps playing with water guns but while running around I noticed a peculiar sight in the sky. It was a perfect cumulus cloud, like a text book shape but was very dark grey which was very out of place against the blue sky. It was the only one like it, nothing else around it at all. Not only was it slowly gliding across the sky from right to left (which itself was odd as the other clouds were going left to right but that could depend on winds at different altitudes) but the even stranger part aside from it being there was I clearly remember seeing little bolts of lighting coming from it. Almost like a tesla coil as it floated across the sky. I pointed it out to everyone who was there and we just watched it until it went from view. I've never forgotten it and can still picture it clearly in my mind. No idea if it just happened to be a solo rain cloud that was just discharging some electricity on a beautiful summer day, or if it was something else made to look like a cloud, a perfect stereotypical cloud shape.

I live in Kidderminster in the UK. The house is on the south facing side of a valley and has a huge south facing window in the lounge. From inside the house, I've seen two fireball meteors that were big enough to make national news. I was also perplexed by the regular appearance of lights hanging in the sky to the southeast, before either disappearing or moving to one side or the other and fading out. It took me an age to work out that they were aircraft takeoff and landing lights from planes using the London airports, more than a hundred miles away. Then we get to the weird stuff. On several occasions, I've seen blobs of light, moving above the southern horizon, just after dark. Binoculars didn't really help, as they showed a cluster of pink and green lights (maybe two or three dozen of them) with no obvious structure. No idea what they were. And then we get to the really weird one. I got up in the early hours of a winter morning at about 3am, looked out of the lounge window, and noticed something in the air below me, but above a pub that is maybe 120 yards away. It hovered there, with red lights on it, and was completely silent, but clearly moving a little clockwise and then counterclockwise. There were multiple red lights, but no green, which along with the lack of sound ruled out a helicopter. As I watched. It started moving away from me to the south and stayed low, until it popped up to get over the trees on the other side of the valley. If I saw it now, I'd probably assume that it was a large drone being used by police to check something out, but this was 15 years ago, before such things were common, and even now, big drones are far from silent.

You mentioned the silent helicopters and that reminded me of an experience I had some years back. I was out feeding our cows in the afternoon, roughly 1600, so broad daylight. I was out counting the cows and looking them over when I looked to my right, south west and saw 2 A-10's coming toward me very low to the ground. They were traveling from southwest to northeast on a direct line toward Whiteman Airforce Base about 70 miles away. It wasn't uncommon to see military aircraft on this approach to Whiteman but they were usually ar a normal altitude. On this day I doubt the A-10s were over 150 feet off the ground, far below civilian aircraft limits. As I watched the A-10s glide byI realized I could clearly see the pilot of the one nearest turned looking at me, the sunlight glinting off his helmet visor. He held up his hand and waved as he went past. At no time as they approached, passed or moved away did I hear any sound coming from the aircraft. Definitely not whatnI was used to from them.

The A-10s ,otherwise known as Warthogs or Thunderbolts, are ground attack aircraft, and made to destroy tanks. While in the army on maneuvers, these things would suddenly come at treetop level and we would never hear their twin jet engines, until they were right on top of us, and after making a mock attack , they would climb and make a victory roll, with those oversized engines howling like Hell. Several years after I got out of the army, my brother and I were fishing at the spillway of a dam in Indiana, and three A-10s suddenly swooped over the dam,and dropped to just maybe 30 feet above the river, and scared the shit out of both of us. I definitely wasn't expecting to see these aircraft after getting out of the military, and especially near my home, and my brother had never seen them before, and was quite shocked to see them in action. He says " what in the Hell were those things "!?. I had to explain what they were, and what they are used for, but I had no clue as to where they were based. I think they might have come out of some Air national guard base in Ohio, but not sure. I've been told that these aircraft are based upon both the German JU 87 Stuka, and the American P- 38 Lightning of ww2.

13:15 that’s an interesting point. A lot of us seem to be of the idea that if you the person have access to classified information. You have access to it all. When in reality there are levels to the accessing of classified information. Plus just cause you have access to classified information doesn't mean you know the full picture.

Its also known as "compartmentalization". Another analogy would be the idea of separate compartments on a large ship. If one is compromised, the others are safe because they are sectioned off. Same thing with classified information. We also used to waterproof our batteries and other gear like that in our rucksacks. Separate waterproof bags inside of larger waterproof bags. If one fails, you have additional levels of protection.

I live within a few miles from Kentucky, and never seen anything out of the ordinary, but it really depends on what part of Kentucky that these things happen in. The western part of Kentucky, near the Illinois and Missouri state lines, and southwestern state lines between Kentucky and Tennessee seems to be where all of the fun is happening. Louisville Kentucky and nearby Ft Knox have had their share of UFO related stories, but nothing like the areas I mentioned above. There's a major fault line that runs in the western edge of the state, where the Ohio River and Mississippi River converge. Maybe that has something to do with it?

I grew up very near the old artillery range at Ft. Knox. We had cracks in the walls and watched the flares. I have also seen UFOs and they are very different from the flares.

Hi new to the channel and have been binging your videos. But the first few minutes of this video reminded me of a story my dad told be about a man he met when he was moving houses in Wyoming, couldn't tell you were, my dad worked a lot everywhere in a 6 state radius. He told me a man he had moved a house for told him a story and even showed him pictures of a military helicopter that had to make an emergency landing in a public airport that he was at. All of a sudden black vehicles showed up and men got out fully armed with rifles but what got him was the helicopter had a different propeller system and it blended in with its surroundings. The man I guess had balls enough to go up to the craft while being yelled at by the soldiers since it was public airspace they couldn't do anything and he touched the outer shell of the craft and it changed to the color of his hand. When he took his hand off it quickly changed back to the surrounding colors. My dad always said the guy called it the chameleon. This was back in the mid to late 80s.

I was a mere kid in the back seat of my parents car when we were driving from Ft Benning to western N Carolina. I remember wish looking out our back window and seeing what I can't describe other way. It was small metallic object that was morphing like NERD candy or morphing tin colored balloon. I estimate it to be several hundred feet above the deck and pines. It was just tumbling through the air like a metallic balloon geometric shape. It flew over my field of view as we drove across the backroads.

FWIW: I have seen AV-8 Harrier 'jump jets' in hovering flight a couple of times. They are *VERY, VERY LOUD.*

The 160th SOAR (nightstalkers) is stationed at Ft Campbell. They're constantly training on and testing out top secret helicopter platforms, so I'm sure a lot of the sightings around Ft Campbell can be attributed to them. Not all I'm sure, but a good portion of them.

Thank you very much for featuring my encounter. I did my best to account this event as accurately as possible, over time memories and encounters of events can erode in your mind but this always stuck with me many years later as I am now in my mid 40’s. I will finish the rest of this video tomorrow and give my thoughts on the other story’s. Work comes early but I always watch all the videos in full. Side note I have other paranormal type experiences that have happened over the years if you ever get into subjects such as that.

@@VoreAxalon It’s a long story which I’ll give all the details on if he does an episode on it. But in summary I was working at as security at a hospital and in the admin area late at night which used to be the original ER area when it was first built many years ago. The building has long hallways on each floor and I was making my way from the top down to the bottom floor doing security checks for doors that should be locked at that time of night and the floor that I was just on up above me and where I just was and confirmed that no one else was in the area I could hear loud thumping footsteps going down the hallway up above me as they make the sound directly over me and then just faded into silence again. There’s more to it but I’ll do the full detailed story id he ever does a video for things such as this
