Got the game a couple of weeks ago on your recommendation, immediately put 100 hours in it. I went the vanguard route and I think Abelard was the only character that never went down in combat. The man's a blender. Thinking about doing an all-guardsman party using custom characters and lasguns, because melee characters are busted!

Even the devs know Abelard is a walking beyblade of death since they straight up said "just give that shit to Abelard" when it came to the NG+ reward for beating the game on ironman mode.

Nice to see that even with the balancing patches you can still just roll with an Officer and Arch-Militant combo and destroy any single encounter with one character.

I liked how our preference in Arch-Militant matched My build was strongly focused on sniper and melta pistol with a sword that counters parries, stacking as much versatility as possible. Add three commanders - and you get a single absolute unit who destroys everything, often before his main turn even starts. This way, I often don't need to spend AP to kill in melee range as they just die the second Abelard walks away from them to the next target.

Fun build is Pyro Bladedancer to catch yourself on fire, then you turn into a beyblade. Easiest way to dodge lightning.

Gonna check it out when I get home, though I already have to say that I prefer to make Abelard into Vanguard with a Malpian Shroud, because M-Shroud adds huge flat dmg based on temp wounds, and Vanguard lets Abelard stack temp wounds into hundreds, when you mix it with automatic counter-attack every time he parries (or even gets attack), he's both a tank and a killer. Arch-Mili Abe is also chill as balls, but I prefer to make myself (if melee) into Arch-Mili Psyker or run with Arch-Mili Ulfar, there are certain nice arch-militant specific items, and Owlcat didn't make enough of them to go around for more than one or two characters. Can't wait to see what you've cooked up with our trusty seneschal ❤

I hope you see this strat, do you think you could put the build up somewhere so we could see exactly how you built him? This is a great overview but id really like a break down of which things to take per level if possible. Im currently playing now and I was speccing Abelard differently and he was not performing anywhere near as good as your showing so it would be a great help to have all the choices laid out.

After a couple turns in combat my arch militant MC has free shooting attacks and free reloads and deals highly increased damage, and just kills everything in the encounter.

I love this game but the amount of info I'm inundated with characters abilities is too much for my puny brain. When the whole party levels up I just kinda go uhhhh I can't tell what to take. So I appreciate a video that simplifies stuff like this

Abelard! Announce my presence to this rabble! Beacon of might combined with stacking temp hp is so broken XD it is resaon enough to pick a archetype 100% useless to you just for that. Tho i personally believe the Warrior/Vanguard combo with beacon of might is something for a mainchar or maybe mr Calox who can be a psyker and fill those useless slots of warrior and vanguard and exemplar with psyker stuff :) Correct me if im wrong, but cant you just use Arch militant Heroic action (to boost your power permanently until end of combat) and follow with the fighter one later thanks to a unique Arch Militant talent? Which is not so hard to pull off when you are running a resolve build in your team :) You also should ALWAYS pick up grenadier as a arch militant, as it is a 0 ap area attack which does not count towards attack limits once per combat, resulting in a free versatility stack + free damage/control effects. if you have colony projects for granades this one becomes insanely powerful!

Hi Mr. Productions! I saw this game on sale and I'm tempted but there are quite a few reviews saying it's buggy as hell. Can I ask what's your experience with it? What config are you playing it on? I'm worried I'd just spend money on a game I'd not be able to play or enjoy.

The first 2 chapters of the game are like 50 - 60 hours long, and they're perfect, but the game does start sagging near the end to the point where it feels like they rushed it. Still a good buy in my opinion.

The reason the Arch Militant ultimate is worse than the warrior one is because the fight will not last long enough for them to actually get more than the 4-6 he gets in one turn plus bursting is usually better. I do like it and I guess in a long gruelling fight it may pay off!

I just got back into this game after not playing since launch, really wanting to play a decently tanky, high damage melee MC, and I ended up following a pretty dogshit 9 month old build from a guy who seems to just pump out 10 slop build videos for each game he plays, that felt more like he just had a broad idea for how the character would work but never playtested it or considered how it would actually function. I'm respeccing to this and it feels so much better!
