Yup thats how its done. You evolve your sound. If you want to experiment, release small demo eps or such and read the feedback. Depending on the feedback, incorporate some of that experimental sound into the established or aka Evolving.

Been listening for close to 20 years now. Still amazed by each new track. Seen them live, own every album and yet they still offer more. They deserve way more attention than they get. Every band from my childhood is releasing really bad music trying to stay relevant, but Silverstein, they just evolve. The old stuff is still the best but unlike bands like ADTR, silverstein has slowly adapted their music into 2021. Incredible. Very pleased 😀
