That was a very unfiltered talk with Roman. Now we know that the "Roman buys" aren't just some off the cuff impulse buys, Roman's knowledge the market is unreal, so when he makes these big buys he knows exactly who to offer it to. Roman not only knows watches but jewelry as well, he has a wealth of knowledge and is very impressive. Roman is also correct in saying that he doesn't owe anybody an explanation on the inner workings of L.B., to include the parting of employees. Roman's years of experience really shows how his driven L.B. to becoming the top tier Grey Market Company that it is today. Honestly, transparency and a code of ethics is what Roman stands for. Great episode Avi, this one is going to be hard to beat!!😊

Thank you for sharing a glimpse of your world. I ran a small business in Hawaii, a kite shop in the most expensive mall in Hawaii. People did not understand the ins and outs of a brick and mortar store. I am saving up to get a watch from you and your staff. Blessings to you all.

Glad I found the show. Spoke to Roman and Alex at the NYC show recently and didn't realize they were KZbin stars. Both easily approachable and willing to talk about topics outside of watches. Not a big collector or mover of pieces but I'll hopefully given them some margin soon!

Hey Roman , of course you know what youre talking about but whats better is you have spirit, grit and genuine love for others around you. You know the difference between bullshit and legitimate when you interact with employees and customers. The reason you have sustained and will continue as long as YOU wamt is that you are genuine. It shines through the screen and I'm sure much brighter in person. People respect and admire you and many feel privileged to do business with you. Those haters out there, let them melt into a puddle at your feet that spills into the gutter of forgotten annoyances.

I hope yall stay profitable and in business. If you remember 08 and operate in an economic environment twice as bad coming shortly and survive and thrive you will be doing better than the rest. The last part of this video they cover shows and related cost. I've done many county fairground shows in various states and we were one of the biggest vendors. Since the shows were on a calendar schedule there is some predictability but not always profitable. The promoter may front load (advertise) the show very well but at later shows would do so poorly.

Traditional retail boutiques are not the answer. The innovative solution would be to have a mobile boutique (no, not a food truck) that you could set up in any city for any client. Customers love to feel important and valued. By Appointment Only (this could be the name, you're welcome, haha) could give the same boutique experience sans the expense of revenue sucking leases. There are a lot of details that I cannot add here, so take it easy on all the negative reactions. Also, skeptics have a false sense of confidence because anyone who is successful understands the 9 in 10 failure rate. The skeptic loves to focus on the 9 and be right 9 times rather than be successful with the 1.

To look at it from both sides: yes, people accept large margins/markups from brands that produce original products, but reselling other brands’ products (new or used) is where buyers start to question the justification of those (reseller) margins. However, as you’ve pointed out, most buyers don’t have a reasonable understanding of what it really takes (costs) to operate an efficient, reliable, sustainable business like LB, so it definitely helps to shed greater light on that aspect of the conversation. Thank you for that! Honestly, I don’t think the sale prices are what people should be complaining about…it’s the buy/trade pricing that is the most challenging! 😂😉

Imo , it’s not jealousy over you putting 100,000 watch on your wrist that ppl get jealous over, they can’t relate, majority of viewers, grinding away to afford two cars , 150000 house, put kids through college, and your business is to sell 500,000 watch to the new flavor of the month in pop music….or see the guy letting his daughter put on and wear for the day a million dollar watch when she destroys it by putting it a hot tub, how do majority of ppl relate to that. Sure petty ppl out there just jealous, I watch you guys for the characters and your stories, not for the RM sales etc…..its immigrant story success, my Polish family successful , in a different way, that’s why I watch and listen to you specifically I just can’t relate about luxury items…..

A million a month to run the ship? with commission based employees? Are you on 5th Ave? Do you have a store front? Do you make anything? Are you authorized sell anything? Are you authorized to service anything? And even if all those things were true, you wouldn’t be at 1 million a month. ( Goodluck finding a sucker that would believe that)
