I made it to 2023 never really getting emotional to any music really. I love music but it’s never made me tear up. I’m 38. I listened to Bad life by bring me the horizon a few months ago for the first time and the lyrics in that hit me but this? Absolutely awesome interpretation of the original song! Exchanges the anger from the original with hopelessness, and it works so well! And masterfully done! Just absolutely beautiful! This is up there with when Disturbed made their cover of The Sound of Silence, in my opinion. A couple of things I personally noticed when I first heard the song and saw the music video: - The "downward spiral, where do I begin?" part early on sounds a little heavy on the autotune. (It's a tool, everyone uses it, even if you don't always hear it.) Personally, I would've liked it without, but it might also be an intentional, artistic choice. And it does not subtract from the fact that this song is a masterpiece. - The other thing is an error in the rendering of the 3D environment in the music video, where you can see a part of the floor by the guy's feet "lagging" after the camera movement. (When he's standing on the corner of a tall building, right by the edge.) Just a fun observation. ;D

I will always be a fan of Pappa Roach, and their version of this song , helped me get through my teenage years. Ronnie's version, helped me understand the meaning behind the lyrics, and how it's actually a cry for help. I definitely shed some tears listening to this version.
