I was groomed, when my mother found out ( well she didn't, someone told her) she said: " why didn't you tell me, you must have enjoyed it". Those words, the shame, hurt me more than anything, and those words still haunt me today 50 years after

When I told my story about my uncle raping me. His mother said “she is lying, do you see how she dressed? I told her to stop dressing like that and stop tempting man” I was 11 years old dressing like the church had taught me. Blaming the victim and not the perpetrator is what’s wrong with this society.

I was never molested, but, I remember being so disturbed by something my Grandma said to me. Growing up, I was an Usher in our church and we sat in the very back of the church which put us in the direct line of vision for anyone standing at the pulpit. One Sunday, my Grandma asked me to move because she didn't want the Pastor to be distracted by my pretty legs. I was TWELVE, the pastor at the time was in his 40s! Like.. why are they placating a Pedophile? Was he known for looking at little girls?! I wouldn't be shocked, I learned as an adult that the man who occasionally drove the church bus was a convicted child rapist. He drove my cousin and I to a few events when we were between the ages of 11-15. I only learned this a few years ago when said man murdered his wife....a woman I'd known my entire life.

I do this too. My child is a mixed kid in a white school though. I’m just making sure that no one gangs up on her while she’s on the playground. However, I don’t drive up and down the street. Instead I park my car right beside the playground and wave at my child. About 15 other parents do this too because the children play at the playground around 2 hours before the school day is dismissed and everyone is jockeying for one of the first spots in the car pickup line. I wouldn’t find this strange as a teacher

The sexual abuse lasted into my teens, with as many as a dozen abusers that I can remember, until I stood up and said NO! The mental, emotional and spiritual abuse lasted until I had a child of my own at 28 and I refused to let any of it happen to him, so I walked away from all of my blood relatives. We have to be cautious though too. I once confronted my friend because her dad went out of his way to make her happy. For example, he’d camp out to get a new release of a movie, book, or device she liked. He was always telling her how pretty she was. He would run his fingers through her hair, hug her, and put his arm on her all the time. My dad is German, and we aren’t touchy people, so it made me uncomfortable. When I asked my friend about her dad, she told a counselor about it, and the counselor called CPS. There was a huge investigation, the dad nearly lost his high profile career, and the parents nearly lost custody. Everything ended up being perfectly normal, he just loved his daughter and was a touchy feely type guy. I’m not saying not to question that behavior. I’m just saying to really speak to the child. Don’t push the idea that something could be happening that they are blocking out, unless the child says they can’t remember chunks of time or blacking out.

What concerns me are the bystanders in these kids lives that sense something is terribly wrong and don't do anything about it. We should not only hold to perpetrators accountable, every other adult who claims they "did not know" should be questioned and scrutinized as well. We need way more safe spaces to report and solutions for these crimes to be reported and prosecuted.

It continued to happen until I was 12 and she finally left him but the trauma of my mother not protecting me from this man haunts me!! I figured if my mom didn’t do anything to protect me no one would!! This man was so obsessed with me that he found where we lived and he would leave me gifts and sick love notes and my mom would give me these gifts!! The hardest thing in the world was forgiving both of them, that started my healing process!! Don’t get me wrong I would never speak to him and I would never want to see him!! It’s also made my relationship with my mother very distressed!! Had it not been for Jesus Christ I wouldn’t be where I’m at today as a Christian!!

I was abused from 8 to 23 by my uncle . I told my mom at about 11. She asked me to Tell her whenever ot happens I DID. And she did nothing. At 38 i told my father and learned that she never told him. She confronted me, gaslighting saying: " i didn't know. How could i ever forget something like that? " He was "banned" from the family, but i know it's just because i live in the First floor. When i move out he will be reunited again. Crazy huh

The worst part is when we start to participate in the act, then we're to shame to tell because we're no longer forced. However children can't give consent to sex , so to anyone reading who feels its too late to tell, its never to late to stop it from happening to someone else.

Apparently sexual abuse is way more common than any of us can even imagine, I am 60 years old and thru the years almost every woman that I have known went thru some sort of sexual abuse. It is truly horrendous!!! The more I hear the more I understand how common it really is. I was sexually abused from the time I was in diapers. By the time I was 12 i remember asking my mom if I had sex written across my for head or something, I thought something was wrong with me that almost every man I met thats all they wanted!

My brother 14 years older than I did. When I told my mother as an adult she said I know but I stoped it in time. Then proceeded to try to make me reconcile with him. Brought my Daughter agenst my specific instructions to meet him. I do not understand why so many mothers just let things go, or actively shame the girls.

I'm always shocked and angered by mothers who don't rush to support their abused child. Usually because they cannot face the upheaval and drama, or as in some cases they blame the innocent child. I cannot imagine being that child and having no one for comfort and protection from the evil predator. They let these perpetrators out after short sentences in prison and move them to another district where they can start all over again with new victims.

The women these men choose are not random. These men are psychopaths and they seek out narcissistic women (lacking empathy) or submissive, useless women who do nothing. They wouldn't choose a loving woman who protects her kids like a mama bear.

It was just too close to home with this video so i couldn't finish it....i def feel for her! I had to start locking myself and bother who was younger in the bathroom to prevent mom's boyfriend's family members from doing this. I wasnt stupid and could feel the rush of fear in my chest and would just sleep on cold tile pretending we had "diarrhea " all night! And after yrs if that it went bk to my mom abusing us physically even as adults until i completely moved away!
