Kirby Triple Deluxe and Xenoblade 2 were definitelt live action, but didn't involve Emile in the actual shot, just more props. (I still love how his cat Kirby was Nia in the Xenoblade 2 announcement, that was funny!)

I first watched Chugga’s Paper Mario’s LP over a decade ago and words can’t explain the amazing memories of playing this game as a kid. I still remember being lost in the forever forest and using Emile’s videos as a guide. I am so, so excited to watch this series. I’m gonna get Switch Online just to keep up.

Honestly, Emile constantly beating down his hatred for the modern Paper Mario games is so overdone that I just groan whenever he does it. It's SO annoying! And this might end up being a series where he'll probably have to disable the comments on a video or two because we all know how toxic the Paper Mario fandom is.

I think he's earned the right to one explaination of his issues with modern Paper Mario, even if he knows better than to constantly jab at it. However, he might avoid that anyway because of likely not wanting to get into what the debate over classic vs. modern Paper Mario is a microcosm of- whether or not it's not only a letdown or unsatisfying, but genuinely morally wrong for game developers to often make games that don't meet fan expectations and get hated by most fans but the developers are proud of the games they've made nonetheless. This has been an issue in Pokemon games Game Freak makes for the Nintendo Switch, most of the more experimental Sonic games, and pretty much every game put out by Bethesda or Blizzard in the past five years. So is making games like Paper Mario: Sticker Star and not caring what the haters have to say about it a genuine moral failing, or just an inconvenience to those who prefer how the old games were designed?

SAME THO I thought he was gonna start playing Origami King and was so happy too! I thought he was going to say how much better it is compared to Sticker Star and Color Splash (even tho I actually really like those games and think they are WAYY overhated- in fact I'd say CS is underrated but I digress lol-) bc OK actually tries to be an rpg and it's just a wonderful experience. I thought Chuggaa thought that too, since he always usually has a soft spot for games and puts a positive spin on things (except for Sticker Star XD) -but I guess not :'0 It's fine tho, I freaking love Paper Mario 64, I think it's super underrated compared to TTYD and it's great he's revisiting that classic! I gotta get to finishing the game for the first time myself one day!

Yeah, same here. Especially when he brought up the "horrible ideas a chance", thing later on, and saying that they should break up. Sure sounded like sticker star...but then, I thought, maybe that was Emile, just trying to be clever. But then I remembered, what the title of the video is, "Unfolding a new Let's Play", and I suddenly remembered Emile has a HUGE fondness for puns(especially the bad ones, but, that's one of the things I genuinely like about Chuggaconroy, him being corny). But yeah, from the title alone, you could figure out he was going to play Paper Mario, just unsure of which one, but whatever one it was, I was going to watch him go through it, regardless, because Chugga is my favorite Let's Player, from Pokémon, to Luigi's Mansion, it doesn't matter what the game is, because Chuggaconroy is having a lot of fun as always, and his commentary is hilarious. And word for word, with the whole potential breakup speech, is how I felt about the Paper Mario series, because I remember over 20 years ago, playing the first Paper Mario game on the N64, and really liking how different it felt from Super Mario 64, despite being a more character driven Mario game, and despite having the same plot(rescue Princess Peach from Bowser), but the characters were fleshed out, you rescued the Seven Star Spirits, and the music was great too. And the sequel, the Thousand-Year Door, on the GCN(GameCube),was even better, fleshing out Paper Mario's party members even more, and even giving Luigi a hilarious quest of his own, with his own party members, some of whom, are mad at him, and have their own reasons for following him, and it's great. And the 3rd game, Super Paper Mario, is where the fans started to get divided about the Paper Mario games(because by Paper Jam, it's been confirmed that Paper Mario and Paper Luigi, along with Paper Bowser and Paper Princess Peach), are from a different dimension, which explains why they're made of paper, but as divided as fans are about SPM, I really liked it(despite them getting rid of the party members from the last games, and replacing them with Luigi, Peach, and Bowser), but they also had the Pixls, these pixel fairy side members that gave each character a certain special power up, and only certain characters could use them, except Bowser, but the game has the best story in a Paper Mario game, being this tragic love story, that seems more like something akin to either a Final Fantasy game, or even a Zelda game, but I personally liked it. And then you get to Sticker Star, the absolute worst entry in the entire Paper Mario franchise, pretty much sinking the entire PM series, and dooming it to forgettable sequel after forgettable sequel, like: The Origami King, and Paper Jam(even though I don't hate Paper Jam, it's just not as fun as the first 2 or 3 PM games), but, I'm glad Emile's going back to Paper Mario, and I hope it's even better than his previous LP of Paper Mario, from over 14 years ago, jeez...that was in 2008, and I was only 15 back then. Also, sorry if I rambled on too long. I just miss the time when people had fun with Paper Mario games, and when they weren't cash grab sellout games, you know?

What I take from this is that Origami King’s combat is so simple that even a (somewhat) inanimate piece of paper can play it no problem! Seriously though I am so, so excited for this LP. I predicted that you were gonna revisit this game and I’m so glad you did. This game and the rest of the OG Paper Mario trilogy influenced me so much when I was younger. They’re some of the most ambitious, quirky and just downright fun games I’ve ever played. Can’t wait to see this game in a new light with all of the longtime insight and passion that you have for the game Emile!

Well. this is certainly a blast from the past... a retread of one of the first let's plays you've ever done... and one of the first ones I ever watched. It really shows how quickly time has passed us by. When I first watched your content, I was around seven years old... so like some others here, you were a part of my childhood as well. I doubt I would have ended up the way I am without you. I even remember the first time I attended Momocon, just to see you and the rest of the runaway guys there- I also remember the incident where you got the audience chanting "Sell Your Soul" due to the Devil's Deal showing up multiple times. It was your let's plays that made me so interested in video games to begin with- not to mention fostering a love of puns.

This reminds of my feelings towards poptropica. When I was little poptropica was one of the 2 games that had a special place in my heart. But as I got older poptropica changed. It removed the shop I loved. The shop that had everything you could by in one place and replaced it with monthly items you could buy. Then there was home island I loved it Because the characters there were unique. Then they locked islands behind a paywall and I slowly realized poptropica wasn't the game I grew up with anymore... It hurt to admit it. But i had to. So I left it behind for years eventually forgot about it intill I stumbled upon a KZbinr I used to watch called thinknoodles. As I watched the videos I undusted those memories of days playing poptropica. And decided to dust off my account and return. Only for everything to change.... they removed home island replacing with snaggletooth island. The shop was even worse. And i saw that the 35 islands were no longer there. Yeah zomberry gave me nightmares and I haven't eaten a raw blueberry since they were still special to me. And to see it all gone... I decided to close and lock up the poptropica box again and hid it away after preserving think noodles

This actually made me tear up a little bit. Having gone through a breakup in my life (which Emiles videos helped me get past) and also loving the PM series while seeing what it’s become. Man I was on a nostalgia high, I watched you as a young kid, paper mario and pikmin were my first lets plays I watched, I got hooked and followed you through up to I think twilight princess? Stopped watching lets plays moved on and yeah I’d checked back every once jn a few years see whats up until recently I suddenly had a urge for a nostalgia trip. Played through pikmin 1 and 2 and it reminded me of your lets plays so I went back to rewatch them, then you started doing the little comments on the community tab about info on old LPs and now you are redoing the first LP I watched you played. Love the content glad to be back, the timing of all this just when I started feeling like revisiting some nostalgia and good memories 👍 keep at it, wish I stuck around longer.
