Today we are taking Central America's most popular and certainly most interesting form of public transport: riding a CHICKEN BUS, an old American school bus that has been retired in El Salvador 🚌 chicken buses are known for being very crowded and having so many vendors hop on and off at various stops that you can buy pretty much anything on there. This travel day is one we will never forget!

We were actually the only tourists on the bus! The things they sell on there are for locals, not specifically for tourists :) and yes the Santa Ana square is a beauty!

In El Salvador, all the buses going out of San Salvador have a lot of vendors selling stuffs on the buses.

Hi there and welcome! Bus vendors would sometimes let you know that whatever they try to sell you comes with its expiration date printed on it so you can have piece of mind that you aren't eating something spoiled. That's why he said it was "for your security" at 07:49 I hope you enjoy each moment of your trip at El Salvador!

When the guy said "Pr su seguridad" He was talking about the expiration date of to Big Cooki Bar "Big John" He said. The bar has its expiration date for your to consume and it is safe. Lol. I love your videos guys. hahaha

So far we have not felt unsafe here. We are more careful than usual, of course, but we feel it is safe to visit especially if you stick to the areas that are frequented by tourists :) it is a really interesting country with very welcoming people! The volcano vid will be up Wednesday or Thursday!

Oh the salad drink, aka diabetes in a baggie 🤪 it was really interesting though! But we much prefer the horchata :) it's a sweeter milky drink with nuts and rice.

As a former teacher, I had to occasionally ride on American school buses with students, and I cannot imagine riding on one of those things for any distance! I love them being called chicken buses!
