This El Salvador history documentary is a unique summary of the ancient history of the country of El Salvador. It covers the history of this country from Lenca to President Funes.
El Salvador, officially the Republic of El Salvador (Spanish: República de El Salvador, literally "Republic of The Saviour"), is the smallest and the most densely populated country in Central America. It is bordered on the northeast by Honduras, on the northwest by Guatemala, and on the south by the Pacific Ocean. El Salvador's capital and largest city is San Salvador. As of 2018, the country had a population of approximately 6.42 million, mostly consisting of European and Native American descent.
El Salvador was, for millennia, controlled by several Mesoamerican nations, especially Lenca, early Mayans, then later the Cuzcatlecs[13] up until the Spanish conquest. Archaeological monuments also suggest an early Olmec presence around the first millennium BCE. In the early 16th century, the Spanish Empire conquered the territory, incorporating it into the Viceroyalty of New Spain ruled from Mexico City. However the Viceroyalty of Mexico had little to no influence in the daily affairs of the Central American isthmus, which would be colonized in 1524. In 1609 the area became the Captaincy General of Guatemala, of which El Salvador was part until its independence from Spain, which took place in 1821, as part of the First Mexican Empire, then later seceded, as part of the Federal Republic of Central America, in 1823. When the Republic dissolved in 1841, El Salvador became a sovereign nation, then formed a short-lived union with Honduras and Nicaragua called the Greater Republic of Central America, which lasted from 1895 to 1898.
From the late 19th to the mid-20th century, El Salvador endured chronic political and economic instability characterized by coups, revolts, and a succession of authoritarian rulers. Persistent socioeconomic inequality and civil unrest culminated in the devastating Salvadoran Civil War (1979-1992), which was fought between the military-led government and a coalition of left-wing guerrilla groups. The conflict ended with the Chapultepec Peace Accords. This negotiated settlement established a multiparty constitutional republic, which remains in place to this day.
El Salvador's economy has historically been dominated by agriculture, beginning with the indigo plant (añil in Spanish), the most important crop during the colonial period, and followed thereafter by coffee, which by the early 20th century accounted for 90% of export earnings. El Salvador has since reduced its dependence on coffee and embarked on diversifying its economy by opening up trade and financial links and expanding the manufacturing sector. The colón, the currency of El Salvador since 1892, was replaced by the United States dollar in 2001.

I enjoyed learning about this beautiful country. It’s sad that poverty and lack of opportunities play such a large role STILL. I just came from an amazing vacation in Playa San Diego and one thing I always realized in school was, what some of us in the “US” call paradise is hell for the people that have to live there day to day. They don’t benefit from the tourism. My lady lives and is from Santa Ana. She doesn’t even have an address, it’s hard out there. Everyone just wants an opportunity. Going through the process of trying to bring her to the US isn’t easy either! I love El Salvador ❤🙏🏽

Now that in 2021 against the 3% of government officials that don't want to leave their governmental positions because the 97% of Salvadoreans do not feel represented by them. The president Nayib Armando Bukele Ortez have been doing an excellent job. This month on February 28 are the election for new "Asamblea Legislativa". If the election is won by Nuevas Ideas El Salvador will become with out a doubt a first World country.

And whether anyone here like or No, THEY ARE And THEY come from legit NATIVE AMERICANS. Hispanic heritage month is Stockholm Syndrome Month, as we confuse ourselves more with European identity. Hispanic/Hispano means someone from Hispania (Lat) España (Spa) Spain (Eng) to whom we, Brown People have no relation to. Did You Know....It wasn’t until 1975 that a group of federal employees in the Ad Hoc Committee on Racial & Ethnic Definitions used Hispanic to refer to all Spanish-speaking people, from the USA to South America, without regard to race. In 1980, the U.S. government first used “Hispanic” on census forms to impose a false identity on all spanish-speaking Brown People/Native Americans. The overwhelming majority of so called Hispanics are actually mislabeled Native Americans. Your true identity had been hidden from you over the past several centuries so that you’ll never come around to wanting your land back and fighting the real Hispanic colonizers. It’s easier to steal a continent if you don’t identify the real owners. Calling yourselves Hispanic is Stockholm syndrome. You’re celebrating the rape theft murder & enslavement committed by Hispanics. You’re celebrating the mental enslavement and domination of your Hispanic slave handlers. Brown people must unite under one single banner--Native American, that’s our race. IF YOU AREN’T - •ASIAN FROM ASIA •BLACK FROM AFRICA •WHITE FROM EUROPE •THEN YOU’RE NATIVE AMERICAN FROM AMERICA We must communicate in very simple clear terms, to the world that the abuse of Brown/NATIVE AMERICANS people in America is a continuation of a 526 year genocide against Native Americans from Patagonia to Alaska in order to maintain possession of stolen land and wealth. There is much more to our plan but there’s absolutely no way to stop the continued subjugation without doing these two things. Say it loud and clear, I am NATIVE AMERICAN! Not Hispanic not Latino not mestizo.

What about the part of history of African slaves in El Salvador
@mailesalinas6269
@mailesalinas6269 3 жыл бұрын
A lot of people don't like to talk about that one. Many don't realize it even existed. However, its easy to look at some of the people and see that there was admixture. Certain tribes from Africa were literally shipped throughout the entire world. I am black my husband is from El Salvador so I did a good bit of research. I would like my children to know all of their history.

Every country in the history of mankind had slaves. The ancient Egyptians had slaves, the Ottoman empire had White slaves, Native Americans also enslaved their own people, White people, and Black people. ISIS still have sex slaves for their fighters. Human trafficking runs rampant in every corner of the Earth to this day. So don't make this about race, because it's not.

The Olmecas lived way back in the past, before Christ era. They left constructions as evidence, for some reason they disappear and centuries later the land was taken by the Mayans, we are talking about the Western part of the country, from the Rio Lempa to the East, thats a different story, most of the time populated by the Lencas. The mayans also disappear from the Western part of the country around the Middle age of our Era and for a century was an empty land, probably by a natural disaster of a volcano eruption. Then the Nahuatls,(Pipiles), arrived from The North of the continent and is the heritage we the salvadorans carrier on traditions a on our DNA
