Hi. The reason u didn't get the seat numbers in your ticket is because in AC First class they assign the seats only while preparing the final chart ( usually 4 hrs before the train starts from the source station ). This helps them to give a coupe to people travelling together and also helps to club two single female passengers together in case they are traveling alone. You can always check your seat numbers on online rail sites by putting down your PNR number ( 10 digits ) mentioned on your tickets. Also try to book tickets on premium trains like Vande Bharat, Tejas, Shatabdi Rajdhani, Durunto, as they offer much better facilities and also have much better food served in First class ( with proper cutlery ).

Exactly! People should do at least a minimum amount of research before booking (or even complaining). These people didn't complain and they were patient enough. But, I've seen plenty of people making all bunch of complaints without doing any basic research about trains. We have a huge train network, so it's a bit hectic at times. But, if you know the process, guess what? It's not that difficult. I've seen some videos, where they don't even notice the LED board. How can one do that!!!!

If you have AC ticket & train is late, then you have free access to AC waiting room from Standard time of arrival/depart. If you want to live longer period, go for dorms. Upto 48 hours you can stay.

If you have any problem in Indian Railway just to eat and Tag it to railseva , within minutes you will get a tweet in which they will ask your phone number and PNR number.. staff, police ,TTC aur Khush Hoya you require will come within minutes to you.. it's really very effective I just complaint that they charged me 10 rupees extra and there were several calls staff came to me resolve the problem took feedback from me

if you login to your irctc account from url or mobile app, it has option to show current status of the ticket. for 1st AC as seats are allocated at the time of charting, if you refresh and check current status of the ticket it will also show you seat numbers. normally for indian number we also get is automatically as sms on phone number entered while booking.

You can get seat number immediately when you book if seats are available. If ticket is in waiting, then you need to keep checking using PNR number. Try Rajdhani, shatabdi, tejas, vande bharat

There was a bit of communication barrier there but you managed really well. The guy was trying to suggest there is an Uber option. Apparently, You can order from nearby station by providing your seat number and time of the arrival of train and local resturants deliver to your seat.

Chai is just 15 rupees per serve in a moving indian train (Any class)..In stations its 10 rupees. Also veg thali is just 90 rupees in train accoring to IRCTC official menu prices. As the train stops in stations, shops will sell foods and tea/cofee. However one have to be quick to grab and board train again.

if one has confirm ticket while booking, irctc shows coach number and seat number at time of booking itself. If at the time of booking it is in waiting state, irctc sends message and email with coach number and seat number. I did not knew why did you struggled in it
