I have to admit, I'm a total auction fanatic. Just love going. Hearing the auctioneer asking for bids, all lots of fun. When you have gone a few times, the auctioneers aren't hard to understand. We are in Alberta, Canada, and so many of the sheep and goats go to ethnic groups, and they all go for slaughter. I'm a big sucker and have bought ones I felt sorry for, but they soon fatten up and look really good. I just have them as pets. I have 4 Barbados Blackbelly ewes, that I have brought home at different times. They all have settled right down, and come for treats etc. I just love their colour. Plus it' too hard to get people to shear wool sheep. Hair sheep are much better for us. I like the silky you bought,

Love the auction. When i was little i went often with my grandpa and now when i come back there i go with my brother. I know there are people that keep animals out here but i feel it is just way to hot for to long. My dogs and cat are inside critters but i would really love to have chickens again. I enjoyed seeing how much all the animals went for at the auction as I had no idea the cost of the animals. I loved the beautiful silkie you bought . She looks so sweet! I was born and raised in the city in Michigan and now at the age of 66 have lived in Florida the last 13 years and I always say that if I was younger I would have loved having farm animals!!!!

We here in Australia set our auction cages in sheds at eye level in 2 tiers and very long rows , each cage is numbered and the owners pay a fee to put an animal in , after the auction the owner takes the money from the customer for the animal and the animal is taken away
